From a fans point of view I dont like Vegas. To many rich compted ticket holders who dont really care about boxing and just go because they get free tickets and because its an event.
I prefer the MSG's, Atlantic City Boardwalk (Gatti fights) and Millenium Stadiums because they draw out REAL fans and the ambiance is at a different level than the above stated crowd.
But boxing is run by the Shaw's, Arums, King's and Warren's of the world.
Well said. :fing02:
Yes, in theory that's correct.
What makes dollars and sense doesn't always directly translate..
There are always many other variables and factors involved.
Although, I think you have made some good points.

Why, because it generates revenue for the casino's. Thats why I made the second post about how much the casino's expected to make from the 20k out of towners that would stay in the casino's rooms, eat at the casino's restaurants and spend the money at the casino's tables, and slots.
Thats the reason why Vegas does it. Hatton is hugely popular and will draw thousands from the UK to Vegas. Same scenario and predictions as the other fight only difference is that they are bringing there money to Vegas casino's instead of Memphis casino's.

I believe you about the money.. I won't check.
That particular venue chose to do what it did for it's own reasons of profit and futures..
Why, exactly?

Ok, did you read the post or link about the $12.5million hosting fee that the Memphis casino's were paying.

Left, I know they can afford it.
I mentioned that in my last post..
We all know that.

No one is watching the fight here maybe you, Sin, and Floydfan 90 but other then that who the fuck wants to see Mayweather fight? It would do big PPV numbers in the U.K.
You just disregarded everything he just said. PPV buy don't constitute even 3/4's of the pie.
Just do a little reading on the biz, hombre.
Addison just so you can see how the Casino's can afford to make such bids..
...he expects the fight to generate in Tunica -- upwards of $100 million -- could be a multiple of what it generates at The Pyramid.
"Could it be $100 million? Sure," he says. "You've got 20,000 people coming in, with average stay of three days minimum.
Left, I know they can afford it.

It has little to do with the fans in attendance. Its sponsors and PPV money. Having the fight at 2am is going to lose a lot of money, plus the money lost from sponsors and casinos is huge. You can't honestly believe the fans are the ones who supply most of the money for a fight like this? Are you that naive?

Who has more die hard, hardcore loyal fans? Hatton> Mayweather. It would sell out a soccer stadium in the U.K. It would be one of the biggest fights they have had in a while.. Over here, It would be just another fight. The majority of people I know have no clue who Hatton is and would never pay to see a Mayweather fight again. The boxing fans I know aren't even buying this fight!

No, you're disregarding the holes in your argument, disregarding my counter points, and disregarding common sense.
All for the meaningless purpose of repeating yourself over and over and over again and over and over..
So, right here and right now - you give me the precise figures for these hosting fees for the referred to Las Vegas casinos, your knowledge that the other sites where these fights can take place outside Las Vegas offer no other direct financial benefit whatsoever, and how the numbers break down in relationship with each other. Real numbers.
First off I wont even respond to your personal attacks. Secondly here are some real numbers for you.
Promoters were still working Tuesday on getting a $12.5 million line of credit to cover the site fee for the fight.

So only AFTER Las Vegas was out of the biding war was Memphis able to compete and secure the fight. I believe its safe to say that if it was in Las Vegas they would've received more.
Are these number REAL enough for you? BTW, also putting in a bid was a Soccer stadium in europe but I guess they couldn't match the amount the casino's were willing to dish out.
Laugh out Loud.
Let's make sense here, at least. Can you do that?
read post above. for the most part no one cares about Hatton in the U.S. and many people will not pay another 50 dollar PPV to watch Mayweather fight. Hatton would sell out a soccer stadium in th U.K. with this.
Yeah, because all the big money fights are made in "Limey Land". The only reason they have fights in Vegas is because its a nice place for families to go watch a nice fight and not spend a fortune.

This fight would make more money in Limey Land but Floyd is too bitch made to take a fight over seas.

Will it matter where this fight is held?
Let me answer: Nope.
Know why? Because it will look like Manchester no matter where it's held. Fanfare and all. You gotta love Ricky's fans, even if you're not one of them.
