If he fights Mayweather? If he can not get in there and rough up Mayweather on the inside. I've seen Hatton box well at times. But I don't think he could do it for 12 rounds for a decision. Now he may be able to get in. Becuase Mayweather is very selective in using his jab. So what else should Hatton do to effectively fight Mayweather?
I say he can't go wrong with throwing the jab. And has anybody ever made Mayweather come to them. I would try but Floyd is naturally the on the defense. What yall think? I say Mayweather wins the fight regardless I just want to talk strategy.
Would it be a good or bad move for Hatton to wait for Mayweather to make the first move? And try to counter him? Do you think hatton is fast enough to counter mayweather? Or would mayweather be long gone before Hatton had a chance to counter mayweather?
BAAAD Move.
Hatton does that, then it will look like Gatti all over again.
Floyd is too accurate and too fast for Hatton's leaky defense. If Hatton lets Floyd take the initiative and control the pace of the fight while Hatton tries to counter, then Hatton will take a vicious, vicious beating.

I think it would still be a good move for floyd to come to hatton. Believe it or not, roger mayweather told floyd to come to zab because floyd was being out boxed by zab and he did well when he did it. and i dont know if hatton can counter floyd. hatton is definitley quick enough but hatton is known more of a brawler type of a fighter. i dont remember seeing him counter punch.
yeah hatton was sick that day he fought collazo he had herpes or something so he couldnt fight. he only lost cause of jetlag. he had to weight gain which really fucked up his love handles. anymore?
but that is his fault. when a fighter enters the ring its his job to make sure he is 100% for the fight. he should have to taken care of that stuff before he entered the ring. So that was probably just an excuse hatton made because he looked to terrible in that fight with collazo. :boxing:
I'm wondering like damn. What if you don't come to Mayweather? Will it just be two guys standing in the ring? Lol. It's hard to get Floyd out of hid game he's really like the Spurs well disciplined. I say Hatton tries to dig to the body. But Oscar I swear ripped 10 strainght body shots to Mayweather and it really didn't seem to faze him.
You are one funny fella!!! you have GSOH cracked me up..

If Mayweather goes on the offensive he loses. Mayweather knows this, and will spend most of the fight tagging and moving. Collazo let Hatton rush in and caught him a few times, but Hatton looked very poor in that fight against a much bigger opponent. Mayweather isn't bigger and certainly won't be able to outmuscle one of the strongest fighters P4P. Give credit to Floyd, he's too clever to give up his advantages in this fight.
Do you mind explaining?
Does anyone think Mayweather will have a similar offensive performace like he did with Gatti? For some reason I think he may. I'm getring this feeling. Because Collazo was really tagging Hatton at will. And he really looked to be going down during the 11th or 12th can't remember.
I can see Floyd opening up alot more against Hatton and i'm even leaning towards Floyd stopping Hatton.
I been saying it since i joined the forum.
Hatton has about 5 months to think something different that is gonna throw floyd off his game plan, the reason floyd fancies himself in this fight against hatton is that Hatton has ONE way to win the fight, come forward at all costs.
Now this has happened to mayweather before in the fight with Castillo and Chavez. And mayweather will most likely do exactly what he did to those two, that he will do to hatton.
Sidestep counter,
Shell Pivot, counter
And then there is that right hand too,
So hatton is gonna have to think of a way to get inside without being tagged, forget the crap talk about hatton taking shots to get in there, when gets there mayweather will stand him up like a bad date, creep around and punish him.
I would suggest he mixes it up, by being aggressive in parts, and boxing in parts, we know he cant outbox mayweather for 12 rounds, but i think his best chance is to do exactly what mayweather isnt expecting in part, throwing mayweather off his game.
By this i mean, backing off a little, using a jab, then rushing mayweather, then backing off etc. If he keeps coming in time and time again he will get timed with counters and most likely hurt real bad.
So for me that has to be his plan be, getting inside mayweather un-detected, beause i think mayweather's game plan is to keep him at bay for the 1st few rounds and catch hatton coming in, then late on moving into the pocket and firing those power shots.
Also hatton has to protect his body, because im pretty sure mayweather will go to the body alot at beginning of the fight, he will go to make hatton a stationary target imo.
So there it is for me, Hatton has to feint his way in with a jab, and combinations, then take time out of the outside and risk it, before rushing into mayweather again, he will have to make floyd think, keep him guessing and not allow floyd to adapt.
exactly. im british and if an american boxer is good then ill come out and say that, id even support them against a british fighter if i liked them more. example- anyone against calzaghe! but hatton is the best in britain at the moment and he's a match for the american boxers, why dont people just accept it.

This prick is without doubt the worst poster i've ever seen. I personally had the fight by 1 round to Collazo but it was a close fight you wankstain, it could have gone either way.
well said this geeza's a loser he has'nt got a clue

well he obviously lost unless your from britain then he won hands down knocked collazo out cold sent him to the hospital and sent his family flowers and said sorry for killing collazo

i've never heard anyone say hatton won who wasn't from britain, besides the judges/hbo fanboys who just signed hatton to a big contract on hbo. you expect them to say he lost and lose all that marketability? face the facts he lost.
why you all so down on hatton, is it because he's the only brit that can give the american's a run for their money. just face it hatton and mayweather are the best in the division and we'll soon find out who's the best of the best.

He won on all three judges cards. Noone claimed that Collazo was knocked out, but some people claimed that Collazo won the fight. Very strange this denial of reality stuff.

He didn't lose.
Hatton's movements are easy to time
The only person who easily timed Hatton was Collazo in Hatton's worst performance and Collazo still lost. Mayweather is head and shoulders above anyone Hatton has fought but it doesn't mean he will find it easy.

I really do see Mayweather dominating Hatton here. Hatton's movements are easy to time and Floyd will likely just pick Hatton off as he comes in. It won't be as bad as the Gatti fight, Gatti just stood at range and took punishment, whereas Hatton knows how to smother his opponents. I just think stylistically Hatton is made for Mayweather.
