WHy is jones considered a top guy in boxing again??

i dont think he is a top guy in boxing right now, but i do think he still has skills and can fight top guys. dont know how well he would do, but he could def hang in there with them i think.

I guess the reason is that Roy Jones Jr can still be very competitive against Winky or Hopkins, probably in party because he's still got great hand speed, and although his foot speed isn't what it used to be it's still good, and being that he's been at 175 for a while, and Hopkins and Wright aren't known for power, he'd have a good shot against either...

I think he could beat Hopkins still. Hopkins never was a big puncher, he doesnt have the output like Johnson to fluster Jones. Jones would just have to dance around the ring like the first fight and he'd win a decision. Hopkins is old, he could be beaten by a busy fighter who is as big as him.

My bad, he's not even top 10 in Ring magazine.

I don't think he ever fell out of the top 10 LHW, so he has always been considered a "top" guy.

He isn't, to me. Just has a lot of loyal fans willing to lie to themselves, as if he has a shot at being as great as he once was thought to be. That's all. (BTW I'm not a Roy hater. I think he was great at what he did for a long while. That long while, has passed)

I think roy jones can beat hopkins. His problems after the second tarver fight was his lack of confidence, i think his confidents grows again.

Im not sure how Roys career will end but id like to think he can pull out one more great fight for a title!!!

Jones handspeed is way faster n hopkins n winky by miles. This is y ppl think jones can beat hopkins n winky. winky would get his ass owned he was to fight jones in da nxt 2 yrs. mayb wen jones is lik 41 then he'll probably lose. his reflexes have gone downhill. all he does is cover up most of the time. if he faces a decent puncher its only a matter of time before he gets Ko'd again.

It's just good to see him come back these last couple of fights and box well. Although the last two opponents haven't had great power Roy took some of there best shots. And especially Hanshaw who laned some solid uppercuts. He just trying to build his confidence. And I think it's great that he wants to fight again before the end of the year. It's really a good plan he has for a comback. Stay busy, build your confidence, and then fight your true challenge.

Because all guys at Jones' level need is one or two good wins and people think they back to what they used to be. Jones could still beat 90% of the guys out there in his weight class. It's whether or not he can actually beat the top guys.

Tarver looked flat and horrible that night against hopkins and you know it. That wasn't the top LHW at his best.

Some people just have a HARD time letting go.. I feel more sorry for their EX Girlfriends.. If they even have any..
