What do you all think? Personally, I think he is. I like to think of myself as one of the more objective posters on this board, so this is not an attempt to hate on Floyd. But he's ducking Mosley like the plague.
Mosley was calling Floyd out, calling him a chicken, and Floyd says nothing, but when Hatton calls Floyd boring all of a sudden he's offended. All of a sudden he really wants to hurt Hatton. So you get mad for being called boring, but ignore Mosley's (although corny) verbal jabs? On top of that he would make more money against Mosley, and he always talks about going after the biggest money fights.
Floyd has no reason not to be fighting Mosley now. He can't say he's retired anymore.

Thats amusing, by the way.
Objectivity would imply that you hold no bias, but in this case, facts are that Floyd has offered Mosley a fight on more than one occasion, with Mosley declining both times.
Floyd-Mosley has never really been serious. In 1999, it was just a bad idea. Floyd was green and just because he wanted the fight didn't mean Arum would have gone near it. Last year, it sounded serious but considering the haul they just made for that 'other fight' how serious does one think Shane was considering he has a share of GBP? That said, if PBF fights Hatton instead god for him. Better fight, equally dangerous and younger foe.
ducking Mosley??.. nah Floyd ain't duckin him, I have a feeling it's due to that 24/7 shit sparring with Oscar for FREE in preparation for the May 5th fight. Floyd made his feelings clear when he called Shane Mosley a sparring partner and he wont waste his time fighting a sparring partner. not to say Mosley doesn't stand a chance cuz he does but the point is Floyd wont give him the time of day, he ain't gonna acknowledge him. I find that strange that he wont fight Mosley but then I think about it and it don't seem so confusing, Mosley did something a lot of people wouldn't do without some paper being put up..
I just know for a fact Floyd ain't scared of Shane but think about it this way, Ricky Hatton is the undefeated king of his country while Shane had his days off before, Hatton is popular and can generate a lot of money overseas, even over here that fight would do BIG, Mosley is like another Judah for Floyd accept with more skills, speed and power but to Floyd it would be nothing, his defense game is serious, the best right now. Floyd is doing the best thing for his legacy, Ricky is one of those Manny Pacquiao type of fighters who carry their countries behind them when they fight so if Floyd gives him his first defeat while he is still #1 pound for pound it would be cemented in stone, no one could deny him, he just taking the better fight and I cant knock him for that.. 100
plus, if this fight happens and Floyd schools him, we will hear the "Mosley is shot, Mosley is too old bullshit.
The delusions of Floyd Mayweater "haters" never cease to amuse me. They will deny fact and logic right in front of them in order to find some way to discredit him.
Its quite pathetic.
Obviously Easy-E, Mosley wants this fight now you fool.
Mosley wants the fight now, when Floyd and Hatton are in serious negoations and are on the verge of signing a fight?
Lets hope Floyd doesnt pull out of the Hatton fight to fight Mosley, because then Shane will have to fake another toothache.
"seriously, Id fight Floyd Mayweather and beat him down...but I cant now...cause my tooth hurts." :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:
So it comes down to money and pride.. because shane denied floyd before.. its his way of getting him back?? what is this highschool?? This is about knowing who the best is.. Just because shane did wrong by denying the fight why does floyd have to do the same?? I think it should be settled in the ring so there will be no more questions.. its one fight I really want to see.
Floyd kept asking Mosley for a fight and Mosley kept denying.
Then, once Hatton and Floyd are in serious negoitations, have a date and a place to fight, Mosley calls out Floyd.
Its convineint, and its pretty sad your buying into it.
heh there's no end to the hate...
if floyd were signing to fight mosley, his critics would yell how he's ducking Ricky Hatton.
God, doesn't this shit get old for you guys?
lame.

You do realize Jones did the exact same thing ...

To be honest,Mayweather probably doesn't want to fight Mosley because he wouldn't fight him when he used to call him out all the time, don't believe me, go back and look at his ESPN postfight interviews, he would always say Shane is ducking me, he's probably thinking "why should I get him a payday when he never gave me an opportunity", he also sees the fanbase that Hatton has and knows that it will bring in a global audience and probably break PPV records just from sales in the UK alone, even though a lot of yall are saying Mosley is the more lucrative fight, in all honesty Hatton really is.:argue:
Im sure shane mosley will take a good paycut in the purse to show floyd how its done.. lets just see if floyd will step up to the #1 contender at 147..
forget about before when shane said no.. just understand shane wants the fight now.. if floyd can keep his idiotic pride to a minimum and get this fight on and proove somehtin to himself and the fans..
I'm not singling you out, I'm just using your post as a reference. But how come when Mosley/Cotto/Hatton/etc doesn't take a fight with Floyd its no big deal, but when Floyd doesn't take a fight with them its a huge deal? Why should we "forget about before" and say that Floyd is ducking them now? Nobody was ever ready to fight him, which probably cost him millions of dollars, and now that he's ready to call it quits we should get on his case because some guys are ready to call his name?
What do you all think? Personally, I think he is. I like to think of myself as one of the more objective posters on this board, so this is not an attempt to hate on Floyd. But he's ducking Mosley like the plague.

I agree with this for the most part. :fing02:

I can't believe this question is even being asked. Mayweather is obviously not afraid to fight Mosley based on the fact that he's offered him fights in the past year and as far back as the late '90's. At this point in his career Mosley is a watered-down version of Floyd. His hands are fast, but not nearly as fast as they once were and not nearly as fast as people on here make them out to be. Go watch his last couple of fights. He is only fast when he's throwing pity-pat punches that aren't going to faze anyone. His defense is still just average. People are talking like he's a threat right now, but the truth is that Floyd would beat him 7 days a week.
There are only 2 real threats that are out there for Mayweather. Ricky Hatton stands a small chance and Miguel Cotto is a real threat with his power and punching power (However its fucking ridiculous to say Floyd has ever ducked Cotto; if anything Cotto has been afraid to fight Floyd). But i think Miguel gets hit too much still to have anything better than a punchers chance.
If Floyd beat Shane you would all say Shane was old and didn't have it anymore. Shane missed his chance. When the best boxer wants you take it or leave it. Don't reject and then call him out later.
no dude.. If he can honeslty beat shane. floyd has my respect.
i think floyd is avoiding mosley. if floyd thinks he's great and wants people to consider him great, then why wouldn't he want to put mosley's name on his resume in the win column?
a win over mosley would be one more step closer to becoming great in the publics eye, but yet floyd just calls himself the greatest without fighting the guys he needs to fight and beat to be called great.............
mosley is there available and yet floyd wants to retire, what a joke, and then floyd gets all worked up over hatton calling him out and now wants to fight hatton. i want to see mayweather-hatton in a bad way, but i want and have wanted for a longer time to see mosley-mayweather, but floyd has nothing but excuses of why he's not going to or even trying to fight mosley.
that fight could be made easy as shit and it's obvious that mosley wants it, floyd just wants to call him self great without proving it.
when floyd beats mosley, margarito, clottey, hatton, cotto, and maybe williams, then he can be considered great for this era. until then, while he's claiming retirement he's ducking all these guys in my honest opinion..........
Floyd is an in-ring running, one punch and done punching, pity-pat touching, Margarito/Mosley/and Cotto ducking, spear chucking, division jumping, BITCH!
Ok um where did the spear chucking come from?
and also as said in a different post, after Mosley-Vargas 2, Larry Merchant asked Mosley if he would accept Mayweathers challenge and if the fight was on the table, his response and I quote "Well right now my tooth is hurt, so I'm going to take some time and rest, he should fight Margarito", and then he had the nerve to wiggle his tooth, you mean to tell me 5-6 months aint enough time to get over a toothache, if Floyd pulled that shit you haters would crucify him, even if he was asked about an opponent you and I both know he would say "bring them on Imma tax that ass too".
I don't think he is ducking Mosley. Imo and it is only opinion, it is better to take on a young undefeated challenger in his prime than an over the hill but still talented ex-champion. I think that a Mosley (in his prime) v. Mayweather would be a tremendous fight but Mosley has seen better days. Two victories over a clearly over the hill and weight drained Fernando Vargas and a clear but not overwhelming victory over Collazo don't tell me that Mosley is still at his peak. Its unfortunate these guys never faced off when they were younger because surely it would have been a great fight. That being said if you don't think Mosley is past his prime then he should just fight Cintron-Mathysse winner and then Mayweather will have to choose between the winner of that fight and the winner of Cotto-Margarito/Williams if he wants to fight again (which he will because he loves that $).
