Amir Khan is a great tallent and only verry young but what do you guys think of him? do you think he has what it takes to be the best P4P fighter in the world?
i personaly think that he will be
He's young and still a propect he's fought nobody yet i'm not bashing him he's just young. He has the skills not sure about his chin or defense. He got tagged quite alot with Drilzanes right hand if he comes up against some one with real power at this stage then i think he's screwed but he can learn and perhaps get a world title but no one can make a judgement as to say he will be p4p king any time soon although he may get a title shot soon considering that hes ranked 11th on WBO title.
Lets hope its for the interim title, i'd love to see katsidis snap this little kid.
I highly doubt it, and i would have said that before this weekend too, he can improve but someone above made a good point about him fighting Amatuer style and how thats a disadvantage for him.
His chin is suspect and his defense is horrible at times, in his last 2/3 fights he has been hit clean repeatedly by absolute nobodies.
how can you even predict this kid will be the top dog in boxing when he hasnt beat nobody? i saw his fight on hbo against some bum who wouldnt even fight back. is it just me or do all the british fighters fight soft opponents like this for a long time? i cant say he can be p4p until he fights a top fighter in his own division.
You got some neck aint ya m8 talking about British fighters like that..
amir khans got no power from what I've seen and looks pathetically weak, does he even strength train with weights??? the moment he gets in there with a slugger like hatton who actually has natural strength, he'll be finished. The closest he'll get to a belt is the WBO, but he'll never be a p4p fighter. You'd think at this stage he'd begin to show what he's really made of, but no, he doesn't even have the brutal power that Fernando Vargas had early in his career to knock his opponents out for the count. All he does is throw flurry after flurry after flurry, and TKO them amateur style, once he fights a guy who'll fight back, I doubt he'll last long.
This guy clearly knows nothing about boxing......... Look at Khan's arms they are huge. Does Floyd mayweather have one punch power? Do Joe Calzaghe? Does Bernard Hopkins WTF!!!
Don't compare his career to Vargas' cause Fernando was a shot fighter by the age of 27/28 and will end up being remembered as nothing! so that is nothing like the blueprint Amir should be following! He will def make the top 5 and be remembered in higher esteem than ricky hatton. you don't beat 3 time olympic chamions at 18 years unless you are pretty special!
Just cause he isn't American doesn't mean he is not a prospect. He has more talent the Berto, Ward and botrh Dirrells comdined...... you will all see!
Way too early.
Lets see if he wins a World Title first, in fact lets see if he gets past Limond first who will be a huge test for him.
Although Limond isn't a big puncher he is a good boxer with 28 wins and only 1 loss behind him

too early too say as well as the guy has alot of pressure to preforme well just hope he doesnt crack up on it. Because peopel are putting very high expectation on a it so early in his career
I think his standard of opposition has been fine, he's just steered clear of punchers, which is no bad thing when you're young.
I'm also a bit worried about how often he's fought. I mean he turned pro in 2006 and now almost 3 years on he's had 12 fights...c'mon, I firmly believe that guys should fight once every 2 months until they hit the top echelons of the division and are looking for a title shot.
EDIT sorry he's only been fighting for 2 years. Still he should have more than 12 fights if he really wants to perfect his craft in the pro ranks.
2 years 12 fights, so thats a fight every 2 months you tube.

nah..not into this predicting p4p greats before they've even proved themselves at domestic level!
khan is a prospect with potential. thats all anyone can and should say at the moment. if he can stay at lightweight i reckon he has the physical tools to achieve a lot, but we'll just have to wait and see if he has the right mental attitude to be a great fighter.

There's a lot of prospects that I rate higher than Khan at the moment and under Warren I don't see him getting huge world title fights anytime soon.
I feel he'll be an overprotected fighter who will probably win the WBC belt and keep it for a while before a real challenge comes along.
He has lightning hands and good footwork but his power is overrated, he doesn't sit on his shots to add power, he jumps around like an amateur and doesn't have the best of chins so it seems.
He has time to improve but his ego is becoming really big and this could hurt him in the future.
he is gonna be like ricky and joe n ever other fighter frank has or had control of, he is gonna beat guys in UK, maybe have a few lesser fighters from USA or Euro come to UK n fight him, never get beat n say he is the best in his divison when there is another 3-2000000 guys who could beat him lol
well you got that one kid from russia hw povetkin and many people think he is the next great hw. he has 13 fights but he already beat some good fighters even donald just last week who barely lost to the former champ valuev. i can understand the hype for someone like povetkin but i dont understand how you can get up on khans nuts when he got like 13 fights to but they all against bums.
hey im not the one that started the thread im just commenting on it
i am a fan because i like his style and is it possible he ends up a p4p best....ya def
but you gotta beat the best to be the best and that will take a while

you make a good point and i agree
but everyone fights bums at the beginning of their career
i hope he doesnt continue to for long but he has great skills and a very impressive amatuer career
No No No No No.
I rarely make outright statements on here but there is no way Amir Khan is going to be a p4p fighter. he doesn't have real power, he's not physically strong, he's not composed when he gets tagged, and he is showing signs of falling in love with himself.
The guy is lightning quick and an extremely accurate puncher, but I can't see him being more than a milked Warren titlist at best. Credit to him for taking on decent opposition though in Limond, who is almost European level.
lol so are you describing floyd mayweather the current p4p king?
sounds veryy similar
