its on the front page of b o x i n g t a l k, fuck that, either move up to fucking 147 or stay your ass at 140. None of this catch weight shit, move up like every other great champion or just stay where you are where youre comfortable. Mayweather made the move from 130 to 135 to 140 to 147 with ease. Hatton can move up ONE division...
ONE division.
I'm ashamed that I have to state this again. But at no point did Hatton say:
"I will ONLY fight at catchweight".
So stop being such a bunch of fucking idiots. He suggested that he'd move up to WW. He suggested that he'd fight at catchweight. It depends on what PBF wants to do I'd imagine.
The idea of even suggesting it is just weak. Nobody is being a fucking idiot, were all saying that catchweight is rediculous. PBF as small as he is, never ever tried fight anyone at a "catch weight" even by suggestion, he moved to their weight and did his thing. If hes that confident at moving to WW to fight him he wouldnt have even suggested that shit, at all.
It doesn't really matter what the weight class is, Hatton can simply come in at 150ish like Mayweather, its not like Floys is going to try to bully him.
I can understand why Hatton doesn't want to fight the big welterweights, as he is a short guy, but theres no need for a catchweight against Mayweather, and I'd be surprised if that was what Hatton was seriously after.
surprised why?

Floyd weighed 148 on fight night against DLH. Hatton weighed 153 on fight night against Castillo. They could easily fight at 147 for Mayweather's belts.
Seeing as Floyd isnt a brawler, or a big guy, I don't see why Hatton wont come in at a weight he is comfortable with. Its not like Floyd is going to rehydrate up to 165. At fight night they will both probably be the same weight.
Mayweather is taller than Hatton, and have a significant reach advantage.
That's one of the main reasons I firmly believe Mayweather will win this fight.
It's okay to be the smaller man if you got the footwork and speed advantage to get under the punches and attack the body, but I don't think Hatton will find that very easy against Floyd...
Yes to all the Floyd haters, I think he would run like a little bitch, but I still think Hatton would look even more foolish in there.
If you have struggled in sparring with somebody tall with good reach, imagine the same guy with fast hands, fast feets and skills far superior to those of yours. Wouldn't be very cool to fight him, would it?
Hatton is too small for WW, period end of story. A 5-6 WW with no reach can only beat short WW's, leading to fight screening and bitching from whiny internet boxing fans and media. I still think he should fight PBF, and if it has to be at 147 then so be it, but I'd like to see it at 140(Floyds best weight anyway) or a catchweight. This fight is bigger than weight classes.
Floydi s 5-8 with a lhuge reach advantage (72" vs hatton's 65"), you cant compare the two bodies and say Hatton should be able to do what floyd does just because floyd does, In all sports God designs some boundaries for athletes.
A slightly slower Hatton is an average boxer at best, floyd can run and still win fights at more weights.
So basically, lets let Hatton stay at a weight where he can be stronger than people as opposed to actually challenging himself to move up..ONE WEIGHT CLASS to take on top opposition. Floyd should not, and will not come down to 140 which would give Hatton the advantage in the first place.

Look haton is a pussy. Reason why he doesnt want to move up in weight is because he will slow down. To fight PBF you have to be at top speed. Ricky just doesnt stand a chance. Honestly this fight doesn't intrest me. It wouldn't be entertaining WHY?! Because Ricky wouldn't give PBF a challenge. PBF will fuk up haton's face LOL
To want to fight at a catchweight is cowardly.
Floyd never challenged any of the bigger guys he's faced to fight a catchweight.
He moved up to their weight and won the fight.
On top of that, Floyd is the naturally smaller man.
The only way that catchweight thing would make sense is if Floyd gets way more money.
Finally you make sense:puppy_dog

A). Because its not his best weight.
b). He ISNT! He SAYS that he'll fight him at that WW.
Some of you fail to notice that him suggesting a 'catch-weight' isnt a 'all or nothing' proposal.
Hatton doesnt dictate any proposal at all. If Hatton wasnt scared to move up to 147, he wouldnt even give himself another option like Catch Weight. You dont tell the unidisputed champion of the division what the terms are, he tells you, period.
Mayweather can easily make 140. Doesnt he always say hes the only fighter who can fight at three weight classes? I mean the guy was 148 for his fight with Oscar and he was eating cookies, drinking coffee, eating chips, etc.
I'd bet right this minute, Hatton is sitting on his ass at 155+ pounds. Get out of here with that 140 lb nonsense. If he cant aggre to even 5lbs, north of 140, he and his team are full of crap and should quit challenging the p4p best in the sport.
I have a feeling that floyds people are gonna want the fight at 147. Hatton is gonna refuse and the fight will be called off. Or the fight will go on at 147 and Hatton loses and will use the weight as an excuse.
It doesn't matter so much what the weight is. Floyd never really went up in weight, he just fought officiallt at 154. He didn't even gain wight between weigh-in and fight if I remember correctly. What he would be doing is NOT coming down in weight as this is traditionally understood.
They should fight at about 145 lbs, easy enough for both guys to make, and Floyd doesn't have to drain himself at all to do that
What difference will 2 lbs. matter when both will be at least 147 the night of the fight? Sounds like Hatton will be using this as a way out of the fight he was begging for all month. lol
It's just talk Mik, it's not like Floyd's team genuinely thinks all these guys are crap - If he did we wouldn't see PBF training so hard and taking every fight seriously.
Anyone who watched Judah-Cotto and wasn't impressed needs to try watching another sport or simply watch sweet pea and PBF fights on a loop.
Likewise anyone who has watched Hatton wouldn't say that he was a "bum" or a "joke". It's just trash talk, and from a group as dysfunctional as the Mayweather camp, it's no surprise!
