I think if B-hop can't beat winky then we are not gonna see anybody in this lifetime that can besides MAYBE Calzaghe. If b-hop cant figure that d then other fighters really dont stand a chance. Calzaghe could beat him just because of his high work rate. I also don't think you realize you would have to hook his bicep cause that's the only real part of his arms you can get too and even then you would be left wide open for a one two to the face.

B - HOP is as crafty a fighter as we're gonna see. B - HOP will have somethin' special or real basic to break WINky down. As someone had already posted, maybe takin' a step to the side and diggin' to WINky's ribs or liver would do the job. If I were facing Winky, I would set things up w/ the jab and throw a straight shot to his solar plexus, follow it up w/ either a hook to his liver or double hook to his liver and bring it up to his ears since he likes the peek-a-boo. I think hooks focusing on his liver and ears over time will make Winky wilt and he'll start having to bring that arm down some. I would also counter Winky from time to time w/ a submarine uppercut to his liver -> When Winky throws his left straight I'd slip and throw the bolo punch to his liver. That would make him bring his arm down.... He will have to. I DONT KNO ..I GOT FEELING WINKYS GONNA GIVE BERNARD A BOXING LESSON... THE MAIN THING PEOPLE DONT REALIZE IS WINKYS HAND SPEED.. The Fighter To Beat Wright Would Have To Be Alot Taller.. Jermaine Gave Him Some Trouble But I Thought He Won That Fight.... Hopkins Is Alot Taller But Has Alligator Arms.. So It Should Be A Good Chess Match

You can throw hard punches from angles too. And anyone who believes it doesn't affect Winky when you hit his arms and elbows is clearly smoking something they shouldn't. You have to punch when he punches, take away his confidence of letting his hands go. If you hit him hard on his gloves, he will feel it. Try to put a glove on your face and let somebody hit it. You will feel it in your face. Countering his jab with straight rights to the body, followed by left hooks, varied between the body and head. That's what you'll see from Hopkins, and that's what you should be doing. Why in the name of fuck would you stand right in front of a guy, who's best punches is straight, swinging hooks to his arms? You would be flat on your back faster than you'd think. If you're going to try that strategy, at least take a small step to his side, putting you out of harms way, before you let go. He is slow on his feet, so a little movement wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe he would reach with his punches after a while, so you could counter him. The strategy to beat Winky isn't that hard, really. It is way harder to be in shape to do it, and be mentally prepared to actually stick with the gameplan when you're getting frustrated. And being able to take that jab, because that's no pity patting jab ala Zab.

The best way to beat him is to throw hard straight shots because a few are bound to get through. Taylor fought the right fight against him imo even if I thought he lost. yeah taylor fought the right style, he should have held or pitty pat to win the rounds

Sam Soliman threw about 1100 punches at Winky, it's just not economical. Your adrenalin is much too high to care about hurting arms and that stuff. You gonna get countered often and your face is a mess. No use in this tactic. Lately Winky increased his punch output, so he comes at you all night. yeah fuck hitting his arms....IF i was to fight him, I'd just be Bernard Hopkins ha...cuz yes, he's going to figure winky's defense out... but forreal, to beat winky or get through his D is to thread the needle...a straight right, down the middle between the gloves....and we've seen how Bernard uses his straight right...

like i said, IF i was on his level I wasn't poking fun at you, I hope you don't think that. Also, being on his level isn't necessarily the problem...being about to defeat his defense, and his ever-present jab would be. Like I said, the hardest fight I've seen Winky in was a B level fighter who threw awkward punches from all angles, and a LOT of them. Didn't take a top-ranked fighter, just someone that pulled Winky out of his own comfort zone, that zone being standing there right in front of a big puncher and daring him to try and get one through and on target. He's ready for that, but he wasn't ready for a guy with a tremendous work rate who threw from crazy angles. He's not bulletproof, but he's probably the next best thing to it.

i have laced them up, just not with winky, obviously, im just using abit of common sense, how many people have tried to break his defence ? the muscles in his arms keep his arms held up that high, so my logic tells me if you hurt the muscles in his arms, he wont be able to hold his arms up all night or atleast cause him distress doing so yeah but, they all tried that and it didnt work lol ohh ok then i have no idea on how to beat him lol. I wonder how hopkins will go about fighting him.

The hardest fight I've seen him in was against a guy from Australia (I think?) who punched from all angles, but had no power because of it. He hit Wright more than anyone else I've seen, and gave him a tough fight, but he didn't do a great deal of damage because he was always a little off balance when he punched, because of the odd angles, you see, and had very little power. Guy had a fantastic work rate, though. He's a great fighter to watch because of it. Can't remember his name, but I'm sure someone else here does.

Yeah throwing wide punches are just useless against Winky unless you see an opening. He picks off everything, and never lowers his gaurd. The only way to do it how Taylor did it. Throwing hard 1-2's through his guard.
