Pacman wants Soto!
Seeks to avenge brother's KO loss
By Dennis Principe
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum may have succeeded in goading Filipino boxing sensation into giving Mexican boxer Humberto Soto a chance to face him next. In an interview with Philippine TV network ABS-CBN, the 27-year-old Pacquiao talked about avenging the loss of his younger brother at the hands of the upcoming Mexican fighter. "If I was there facing him it would have been a different result. Maybe it’s time we face each other and see what stuff he's made off," said Pacquiao. The southpaw Pacquiao has been very consistent of not naming names as to who his next foe will be. Last night’s experience in New York however made Pacquiao specific about his desire to battle Soto soon. The 27-year-old Soto scored an emphatic 7th round knockout victory over Bobby Pacquiao at Madison Square Garden in New York
This would be intresting, revenge for his brother

Damn dennis is putting words on manny's mouth. What manny said was " I want to fight soto, I'm accepting his challenge. Iwant to know how good he is, I want to know how powerful he is". Pacman did not mention about differenct result ek ek . :ugh:
Soto's been trying to get that title shot for some time now. The man is underatted. It's that the man is just balanced.. He can box and he can fight. It's about time this man gets a shot. Im telling you he is underrated, just like Pavlik. I would pick Pavlik over Taylor.. This is coming from a Taylor fan. Pavlik can give him a run for his belts.. the same way Soto can do for Pacman.
That's right! Soto is on the radar now. This man is underrated! Pacman Vs Soto is going to be great! Most likely be on HBO PPV.. I would buy that shit also.. Put Miranda on a undercard fight...
Pac is gonna tear Soto a new asshole.... Soto is just another overhyped amigo protected by Arum all these time... Juarez?? c'mon now.... Juarez is as slow and predictable as hell... Pac shouldn't be compared with him...

Yeah i think it would be an awesome fight!!! Soto sure did kick his bros arse!!! I would be pissed if i was pac man too!!!
i have hi definition pendejo thats why,:D
Si pendeja but your saying that you know that bob got sad because of one good shot, You know how long Bob's been in the boxing game and what he has seen? that pitty shot Didnt scare him he has seen allot worse.
im really suprised that this fight is gonna happen! NOT
It was on the cards.Soto gave Bobby a bit of a smacking around
the finishing shots were beautys..
But he got Wobbled himself and Manny would be all over him like a rash
Pac KO in 5 or 6 rounds...
Arum is the devil in a suit! This is what he wanted from the beginning. He knew Soto was too technical for Bobby but that Bobby would not back down and once Manny witnessed his brothers beat down the wheels were set in motion resulting in a huge payday for arum. Did you see the look on his face from the crowd in that fight? Pure unadulterated evil.
watch this pacman was more impressive in this fight and he wasnt even 100 percent against him while soto looked sloppy even throwing a 6 punch combo in the air?
Against Velasquez, there were no report of Pac of not being 100%. In the 3rd fight, Pac was reported to have a cold or something. Against Solis, cuz Pac only trained for about 5 weeks, he wasn't 100%.
watch this pacman was more impressive in this fight and he wasnt even 100 percent against him while soto looked sloppy even throwing a 6 punch combo in the air?
Its funny how you think you Know when a fighter is at his best and what not.
dude that was the best soto...its just that bobby brang the fight more then rocky did! and yes i watch that small ass timid jaurez the guy is not aggressive at all i saw that fight! people were so in aww of soto because he took some of jaurez punches? he didnt school him to the point of embarrassment it was a closer fight.
morales vs pacquiao 1 was more impressive then that shit morales was at his finest and ill say to me that was his best performance his wars with barrera are memorable as a trilogy but as far as technique and boxing artistry morales vs pacquiao 1 was his best! he mixed it up beautifully against pacquiao and clearly 1 the close decision.
Soto is not at morales level....morales in his prime would wipe the floor with soto.
I don't see how you can call that his best performance when you are highly critical of his performance. Meanwhile you acknowledge that he won a pretty unanimous decision against Juarez. After that I have totally lost you. I don't see the relevance of Morales to the argument of Pac-Soto. Sure Morales was a better fighter in his prime than Soto but so what. For all I know Pac may be past his "prime" and Soto may be at his peak. Maybe Pac won't come to the fight in peak condition or with supreme focus. Lots of things could happen regarding Soto-Pac that have nothing to do with Morales-Pac 1. If you are saying that because Morales beat Barrera twice and Barrera beat Juarez twice therefore Morales is much better than Juarez therefore better than Soto that is a hard logical train to follow. Again please remember that I think Soto will LOSE against Manny I just think it will be an entertaining fight.
The point is you saw the Best Soto last night against a unranked guy with 12 losses...but you didnt see the best pacquiao against velasquez, larios, and solis and he still made easy work of them while soto struggled hard.
I will give you that soto does have a good chin and is a tough sob but how will he fair against Valeros punches? I actually think Valero could beat the crap out of him.
im pretty sure if bobby didnt have that big gash on his eye that was clearly dripping down to his eye making him blink and messing him up the fight would of last longer.
It was kinda rotten of the ref to say that was a knockdown in the first round when soto just pushed bobby down with his hand on the back of the neck.
I agree/disagree with you. I too think that Valero would probably beat Soto but I don't know I think that is a pick 'em fight. Soto has a good chin and if Valero couldn't stop him I think Soto could break him down. I also think that the KD call in the 1st round was bogus, clearly a push. The cut also definitely negatively affected B. Pacquiao.
On the other hand how do we know what would have happened without the cut. I do know that Soto did the smart thing and targeted the cut showing me he is an intelligent fighter. I also don't agree that this was the "best" Soto. He completely dominated Rocky Jaurez to the point that Juarez almost looked like he wanted to quit out of frustration. Considering that Barrera (who I respect as a great fighter) never dominated him like that I respect Soto by transitive property. And I wouldn't say that Soto struggled. That is like saying Cotto struggled with DeMarcus Corley. Sure he got buzzed but both dominated the majority of the fight.
Pacman wasnt even throwing his punches hard he even admitted he was holding back and Roach got mad at him cause it wasnt untli solis cut him that he turned it up.
Pacman shouldnt toy with guys...
the difference between pacman and soto is this.
Soto was fighting his best against bobby and fighting for his life he was hurt for a long time from that right hand of bobby and few other shots you could see it in his face and the fight was tough against a low caliber fighter, pacman wasnt fighting fullblast against velasquez, larios and solis and he was still toying with them he didnt even put 100 percent on those punches.
I thought soto was a technician but if you watch his fight and then watch manny fighting his supposed tune ups manny looked more superior with his movement and combos and he picked his shots better then soto.
Firstly I haven't seens the Solis fight still so I wouldn't be able to comment on it. I agree with you that Manny was more impressive in his "tune ups" then Soto was in this fight. But Pacquiao is a seasoned champion and Soto is not. And I didn't see Soto's hurt last longer than the latter portion of one round and during that time B. Pacquiao couldn't put him down. If he was so available to be hit then why couldn't B. Pacquiao simply finish him off especially considering Soto was hurt. Perhaps the reason is that Soto is a tough SOB with a good chin and a lot of heart. Again I think in the end M. Pacquiao breaks him down but I think it will be an entertaining scrap while it lasts.
I wonder why Soto looked afraid after he won... :owned:
Get real. This guy comes from the hood in Mexico I highly doubt he is afraid to get paid a lot of $ to fight somebody. Sure he probably will lose and perhaps there is some fear of loss but I don't think he is afraid of getting injured.
Get the fuck outta here you biased piece of shit! no offense lol
but you hypocritical pac haters make me sick.
dont ever talk shit bout larios ok Larios is a world class fighter and you guys would never let that shit rest when he happen to catch manny on the ropes but with soto all of a sudden your big upping him with his sloppy win?
the guy got rocked hard and i mean hard he went forward but then his eyes wasnt even straight for a few more rounds he was fighting for his life.
pacquiao schooled the shit outta larios and he even said he wanted the fight to go longer and was toying with him same with solis if you cant see that your silly.
soto is no where near the level of JMM when he was 27 no where near.
Compare this shit moron pacman got hit one time but he still has more speed, more slick movement and side to side moves and combos then soto...but you pac haters insult pacmans fights.
but your giving props to soto? fuck off seriously
and keep in mind this aint even manny at 80 percent
Whoa there look who is getting out of hand. If you read what I said I think that PACQUIAO would WIN the fight. I simply said that it would be tougher than some are giving credit for. And regardless of why Larios DID make it all 12 rounds (my mistake earlier) he WAS moving up in weight two classes. Yes Larios is a world class fighter and I am not taking anything away from him but he has been KOd before at lower weights and Soto has shown a better chin so far. And my point of saying that Larios made it 12 was not to insult Pacquiao at all, it simply was to say that he doesn't blast out every opponent in 5 or 6 rounds like many people were predicting. Again Pacquiao will probably win but I think it will be a good fight. I am sorry if my opinion disgusts you honestly.
I think Manny has unfinshed business with first Marquez and he should have been priority. IMO I think Soto is another highly decorated tune-up for Manny. But thanks to Arum and the inevitable fight with Soto, a Marquez or even Barerra fight is delayed and now the Pacman is now on a slower road to real glory which is knocking out a top ten 135 pounder.
Bobby vs Soto was not a good choice for Bobby. Bobby needs to hone his skills on some ESPN fighters. Roach has to tell his guys when to box. They aren't listening to him. Roach has his hads full and needs to focus on quality of his training as opposed to quantity of fighters. He's not getting through to his fighters. That's another subject.
Yes, Soto is the best choice from the non-mainstream fighters and especially now that he beat his brother. If he continues to fight Arum's fighters only, we won't be watching Pacman fights 10-20 yrs from now the with the same respect we watch classic Ali, Sugar Ray, or Chavez fights. In boxing it should always be the best fights the best for the belt. CHAMPIONSHIP over money. Manny can bring some respect back to whatever belt he attains. The money will be there.
I think he Soto should be tune-up before fighting Marquez. (Although he shouldn't treat any fight as a tune-up)
Unless Barerra wants to lose again Manny should move up to fight Zahir Raheem to break the mold of fighting Mexican fighters which he has to do eventually.
When was the last time Manny fought an American?
Manny vs Soto will definitely sell but Marquez has to be the next fight after that. I want to see both fights. Manny's emotions will be a factor for both fights.
