Anyone else notice that? I'm not just talking about the heavybag work. When he's hitting the mitts, my god his hands look so slow compared to Judah on the HBO countdown. I know on fight night, things will even out, but just seeing the difference in speed in their mitt work is scary. :puppy_dog
I think Cotto's a great fighter, and I really think he's gonna go far. I don't know why more people aren't clamouring for Cotto/Mayweather, that's the fight I wanna see and the fight that would really cement Mayweather's legacy or start Cotto's in earnest.
AHAHAhahaaaa!! :lol1:
I agree cotto did look slow but did you check out the technique in his punches it was perfect. Also his shots were extremly clean and snappy.
:lol1: Apologist. :killyou:
Notice that Cotto does not throw arm punches. He ensures perfect technique on every single punch. Its not how fast you hit the target but how accurate you are and how much power is delivered on contact.
Cotto delivers devestating, punishing, precise punches every time he attempts it.
I see what you're saying but I think Cotto is probably bigger than Floyd. I think Cotto is in his prime whereas DLH was a little past it, plus if DLH hadn't tired - again - I think he would have won. Cotto is very accurate and hits very, very hard. I think he could hurt Mayweather and slow him down. Hey, I'm not saying he'd definitely win, but I think he's got the best chance.
yeah i agree with all your points. But i still believe pbf should easyly be able to defeat cotto but if cotto were to catch pbf with a body shot which slowed pbf down then it could be a different story.
Actually to beat a fast figher you go to the body and dig. If a fighter wants to use his wheels, then you let the air out of the tires. The moving target becomes stationary and then you can destroy him.
Baldi was slower than Cotto... To beat a fast fighter you don't need to be fast, you need to have good timing and power to make him respect you, and that Cotto has.

I THOUGHT THE SAME THING LAST TIME.. HE LOOKED SLOW AS SHIT.. HE MUST BE JUST WORKING ON TECHNIQUE CUZ AINT SLOW WHEN HE GETS IN THE RING..
Everyone thinks that Cotto is slow and that he telegraphs all of his punches until the fight starts. I also think thats a way to throw people off. In many of his fights he throws a slow lunging straight right that lures the fighter in then bam he throws a quick double left hook that they dont see coming. And when you can cut off the ring like he does it limits the his oponents ability to move away from the punches.
I think if cotto were to fight pbf, cotto would be shown up because he's not that big for a welter also de la hoya even though he is old hits hard and is alot faster than cotto, and if he couldn't hit or hurt floyd cotto would have no chance. But hey he may surprize me hopfully as i wana c pbf ko'd.
And Castillo was lightning quick?
Cotto doesn't need to match the speed of PBF to have a chance. I agree at this point he gets beat, but I don't think it'll be a blowout. Depending on how easy he beats Judah (and he will, I already have money on it), then I might rethink whether he'd beat PBF right now.
When they get in the ring - the difference in speed will be incredible. It's not something Cotto is doing just for the video - he is slow, compared to Zab, and everyone knows it. The guy telegraphs his punches from San Juan to NYC and Zab will see them coming. Look for Zab to consistently land straight lefts on Cotto, who is too slow to stop Zab from nailing him.
It's a good thing for Cotto that Zab will have a bit of ring rust, because that is going to be the only break he gets in this fight, other than that, he is going to get taken to school....
good shit, that was funny.
HAHAHA...fair enough.
You know, it really won't change my world regardless of who wins this Saturday, it's not like Zab is going to toss a big roll of cash my way if he wins, hmmm - wait hold on - he may indeed throw me some cash, I wonder - does anyone know the complete list of odds/bets in Vegas for this fight?!
LOL- I just woke up and you are using .50 words on me like verbiage - that's the best word I have seen on this website in a while! I post the same kind of answers because it's nothing but the same lame threads over and over....
HAHAHA...fair enough.
Yadah yadah yadah..... :nonono:
We all know already that you want Cotto to lose. You should just copy & paste in all of your post because it's the same verbiage in every thread...Nothing changes.

The DLH that fought Floyd couldn't throw a fu@$$@ straight punch all night when he had Floyd on the ropes. All he threw were looping, weak ass punches, he had 0 power because of it so don't kid yourself thinking Floyd took any good punch from DLH.
Cotto can beat Floyd because of his hunting down style and body attack.
