Oh wait, I forgot, he was winning the fights before he lost so they don't count. :D :haha:
He was also beating Hasim Rahman 4 times before he pulled out of every fight with a new injury.
This whole topic plays the race card. Tyson was in a shittier division and thats why he dominated the way he did. And your impressed by belts!!! Hilarious, when he's fighting bums who hold the belts its not that hard to get them when he's koing them in the first round because they are such bums. If Vitali was black, then th topic creator most likely wouldn't have made a topic then. Why doesn't the topic creator make a topic about a bad black boxer? Oh, wait do no bad black boxers exist? :ugh:
Nobody brought up race until you did.
And the guys Tyson beat were better than the guys Vitali beat.
The 80's was an incredibly weak period for heavyweights, possibly on par with today's division.
Nah, they were better than today's.
Actually, I think most heavyweight eras get knocked for being "weak eras".
They can't all be like the 70s or early to mid 90s.
It may be the glamour division, but it just isn't that talented of a division, really.
So says the guy with Tyson in his sig, Vitali probably beat better opponents then anyone tyson ko'd. Unless you think Spinks was a worthy opponent, or an old ass larry holmes who was passed his prime. I like Mike Tyson, but you have no room to talk shit about Vitali if you got a picture of Mike tyson in your signature. He was the king at ko'ing bums.
Tyson beat better guys than Vitali did.
And Tyson WON when he fought aging greats. Vitali LOST to an aging great. What happened the last time Lewis had showed up out of shape? He lost to crappy Rahman.
Tyson, you mean the guy who was the first heavyweight to hold all 3 belts, who defeated over a dozen guys who were at the time, top ten contenders?
He has several wins better than Vitali's best win.

What was Tyson's best win? Over holmes or spinks??? Or was it someone else??? Too many shit talkers on here, to be coming at Vitali like the way some of you are.

He doesn't have a legacy, you have to have a substancial career to have a legacy. He will be known more for the fights he lost and how he lost them, rather than the fights he won and how he won them.
Once the Klitschko's got off the HGH they really became more and more injury prone, it's a common trait after HGH. The guys have some skill, but were never really that impressive to me....
Unless Vitali has a number of memorable fights vs. quality opponents in his 2nd career, I'd say 'legacy' isn't a deserving word. He's another decent HW who held a share of the title once.
sums it up best.
Does anybody really believe Rahman stood a chance? That's what's funny.
Vitali's legacy is a wierd one. He was never knocked down and never behind on the cards, and his KO % is the highest in history. He's probably in the top 25 heavies all time, somewhere a few spots below his brother.
But he has too few notable wins to count for too much.
In terms of talent and skill, a top 15 all time HW, in accomplishment probably much much lower.
C'mon guy, to be in the top 25 wouldn't have to have beaten a top 25 HW? His best win is probably, hmmmmmmmmm, I'm thinking...let me see...........Danny Williams Maybe? On second thought Corrie Sanders.
he coulda been dominant, had he been more prodcutive and maybe accelerated his career his faster... theres little doubt in my mind he could have beaten an aging lewis in a rematch and gone on to beat rahman, byrd, ruiz and unify the titles.... what could have been... in the end though, he had a short stay on top of a thin division...

Vitali doesnt have a legacy.
Hate thread..........
said it all with less than a sentence.
bro, quite a few people here have no life, so making threads like this as well as actively hating on people actually beomes a hobby. how pathetic.

it's sad that he hasn't become a big success, but he is a very good boxer. i suppose in sport your body is the key, and if it isn't able to cope with the pressure your sport puts on it then you won't have a legacy.
Vitali would beat Wladimir around like he was a red headed stepchild
Maybe, but Wlad will ultimately go down with better accomplishments of the two. More wins over guys who were contenders/titlists at the time.
id say vitalis biggest accomplishment was the fact that he was ultimately recognized as being superior to his brother when he was champ.
vitali was always an afterthought before the lewis fight, wlad was sposed to be the guy who did all the big things
Im not buying that .. Rahman just ran thru a bunch of bums at the time and Vitali was scared to fight him .. And he would of beat rahman easy..
lol,,there's nothing to buy. its a fact he needed major surgery on his leg. he couldnt fight,,,,its as simple as that. anyone that thinks he'd be afraid of freaking rahman is either hating or stupid
