Brock Lesnar would have dwarfed Rocky - it would have been a bit ridiculous.... then again, Ivan Drago dwarfed Rocky.. so i reckon if he had done it, it would just be repeating the same shit again. I liked Rocky 5. Tommy Morrison and the hole "Duke" (Don King) story-line - although the street fight at the end was very cheesy. Tommy Morrison acted well in this film - especially as he wasn't an actor. However Mr.T wasn't an actor either - so theres no excuse for Tarver being shite at acting.
Bah! - i noticed Tarver being out of shape too, but i let it slide. I mean... the guy deserves a break?? I mean he didn't look fat, but he doesn't have to get all ripped up - let him have some time off and some easy money - Tarver made some cash in his life without having to lose brain cells....he left that to the audience. lol.
Yeah, Ivan drago looked like a badass and they claimed he said the least and the best lines "If he dies,................. HE DIES", classic.
I'm glad they didn't use this ending.
Me and my brotehr were talking the otehr day about the final rocky - we thought it would have been a better ending if Rocky had died in the ring.... even if he died in the ring, moments after winning???
I reckon Mason Dixon (is that the name of the opponent in Rocky 6?) is the worst opponant out of all the films....although he fights the most realistically -(obviously because he's a real life fighter). Theres nothing really in his character.
I agree, the ending they chose was better. It was like the first Rocky, he cares more about proving a point in showing he can compete rather than winning the fight.
Mason was the weakest villain, but that's the way the character was written. He wasn't supposed to be a "bad guy", just the opponent.
Clubber Lang was the best villain of the series.

Are we counting Rocky V though? I usually don't count Rocky V but I'm just checking...
yeah im glad they didnt use that ending. i didnt think mason was too bad a character. pissed me off how flabby tarver was tho. rocky opponents are meant to be ripped up
Yes, but him being in the worst shape of his career and Rocky being at his best shape, along with him breaking his hand is what made it somewhat realistic that Rocky could be competitive in the fight.

They thought about using Brock Lesnar alot and they claim they came really close to using him due to his character look. And that he didnt look bad in the ring either. That would of been somewhat wierd. http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/6415/gbjor9.png
