But the fact still remains that I have a hard time giving a close round, which I felt that most of the rounds were, to the guy that was running the whole fight. The fact that you can't deny was that Oscar brought the fight and Floyd ran away from it for most of the night.

Floyd landed more punches than Oscar. ALOT more punches than Oscar. Not only that, but he landed them at a higher percentage, i.e., his agression was much more effective. I think maybe you mis-interpreted what I was saying. I was saying that Floyd probably would've wanted to land more punches than he did, so that the rounds would've been more clearly his (and no dispute from DLH fans). It was not a comparison to what Oscar landed at all.

I disagree with your view of ring generalship. I though both guys fought the style that the set out to fight. De La Hoya was pressing and throwing a lot of punches while Floyd was circling and countering. DLH probably would've liked to be more effective and Floyd probably would've liked to land more punches. But because of their styles they both pretty much fought exactly how they wanted. I wouldn't say either of them won in ring generalship. Floyd landed more punches than Oscar. Call me old fashioned but I watched the fight in normal speed twice, and both times I got the same score, De La Hoya ahead by a round with four questionable rounds that could easily have gone either way and one even. As I have said before a close fight like this could easily have gone the other way or been a draw and it's stupid to claim a robbery. And for the record while Floyd's punches were cleaner, Oscars were more effective (they caused damage, they backed Mayweather up, they took him out of his rhythm) so with the number one method of scoring a round both fighters cancelled each other out. De La Hoya wins in ring generalship. He fought at his chosen pace. De La Hoya was also clearly the aggressor which counts big. In some rounds it was effective and in some rounds it wasn't, and when it wasn't Mayweather won the round. And the final aspect is defense, which both men displayed to a high degree, De La Hoya by catching Mayweather's punches on his gloves, Floyd by blocking and ducking. Easily could have been a draw, esily could have been a close win for either fighter, and in my opinion to claim that one guy or the other dominated is seeing things through fandom tinted glasses. Oscars punches did NO damage at all. His agression was not effective at all, he landed a small percent of his punches compared to Floyd landing almost 50% of his shots. Floyd's defense was great while Oscar was getting consistantly drilled with straight right hands. Floyds punches were also obviously and consistantly, much cleaner. This fight was not close folks. Not at all
