Why Pacquiao doesnt fight to Marquez???

Popular boxing promoter Rex 'Wakee' Salud thinks that superstar Manny Pacquiao is ill-advised on his recent media pronouncements telling the World Boxing Council (WBC) that he is letting go of his mandatory status to WBC super-featherweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez. Salud, who arrived recently from his vacation in Japan and South Korean, said Pacquiao must be getting pointers from people who do not know their boxing, and the art of the deal. "Telling the WBC that he is not interested in being the mandatory challenger smacks of ill-advice. I don't know who is behind this, I'm not even sure if Manny understands this situation," clarifies Salud upon arrival from his week-long trip. Late last week, Pacquiao had written the WBC and asked president Jose Sulaiman to award the mandatory challenger status to another fighter. The WBC had earlier installed Pacquiao as mandatory challenger after he defeated Erik Morales in their second fight last year. This came on the heels of Pacquiao's electoral defeat at the hands of incumbent Representative Darlene Antonino-Custodio in their duel for South Cotabato's second district. Canadian agent Michael Koncz had informed mediamen that Pacquiao signed a three-paragraph letter asking Sulaiman to designate another challenger to Juan Manuel Marquez’s next title defense. "They should not have issued that letter to the WBC. That's a wrong move. They should have let the WBC pressure Marquez to defend his title instead. I know that Sulaiman understands Pacquiao's situation that he cannot accept a smaller purse in case of a purse-bidding as he is the more popular fighter," added Salud, while noting that under that scenario, there would have been a strong chance of Marquez getting stripped of the title and a Pacquiao- Humberto Soto clash would have been more feasible. Meanwhile, Salud also informed that his big July 21 show in Cebu featuring Filipino fighters against Japanese prospects is a go, with no less than OPBF lightweight champ Randy Suico defending his title against mandatory challenger Koji Samejima. Also set to battle tough Japanese opponents are world-ranked Eriberto 'Yukka' Gejon and Jimrex 'The Executioner' Jaca, who are both managed by Salud.
