Anybody catch the comments this mothafucka made, now i respect the dude but damn he tryed to play are sport out badly yesterday and like the dumbasses ESPN is rather then getting some1 who can actually back are sport up and fire shots back they got Lou Dibella ass and he basically sat there said a few things and for the most part looked like a bitch compared to Rogan!
Joe also said something along the lines of Boxing stars of today are the only stars where gonna have down the line, ex: De la Hoya Hopkins and those type of guys... what he doesnt understand is that boxing is an olympic sport and has been around for centuries and it aint goin no where, as for the UFC last time i checked da shits been around for almost 20+ years and its not startin to bloom til now thats something people seem to forget also theres only a select few guys in the UFC who get mainstream exposure, shit if Chuck Liddell doesnt win tonight its only gonna bring them down rather then pick um up , i mean shit i like UFC its da shit but id watch boxing over it anyday
BUT>>>>>>>>>> then again UFC 71 39.95 a boxing match 45-55.95 they defintly got us beat there! thats another thing if boxing competed with UFC PPV prices then the revenu for boxing would be alot higher, somehting like 220 to 177 in favor of UFC
Alright, you people need to stop talking about UFC ... these ufc punks are taking attacks at boxing just to get more publicity, and when people in the boxing community talk about ufc, ufc obviously gets more popular, SO STOP TALKING ABT IT....UFC is just a fad....these chumps they make half a million for one grand fight ...boxers(De la Hoya), they are making what $40 million for one fight....ufc will never reach the level of boxing...boxing's been around for a long time and its here to stay.
now jsut stop talking abt ufc (ultimate fucking cunts)
If the sport keeps growing like it is the fighters will be making the same amount.
Boxers should start to worry that if their fights are deemed boring that they will not make the amount they are currently making.
ESPN has started to cover UFC and wasn't there an article about UFC being close to a deal on HBO.
Boxers make a lot of money because of fan sport, which equals television and commerical support. If boxing declines they will lose the support which means they will make less. Just look at the NHL, where are they now?
Boxing needs to shape up and quickly.
UFC is not a "Fad": like somebody already mentioned, as long as there are Martial Artists out there that want to make a living fighting, and fans willing to watch, there will be UFC/MMA.
I know of more Karate schools and people studying Martial Arts than I do of kids going to boxing schools; add wrestling to the mix, that is an advantage.
It is times like this that I wish the old days of boxing would come back. The days of many gyms, kids wanting to be like Joe Louis, and just great fights with fighters wanting to face the best. Of course I would like the corruption to end, but you get my point.
anyone notice how as rogan gains in size his hairline goes further back?
i guarantee he's juicing...you just dont see serious results because he probably does a pussy routine, but he isnt that old and look at his hairline. he almost looks like couture
Yes, he could be juicing, but on the other hand he is not that big, has basically always been ripped and built like a fighter, and I think he is Italian, which means he should be happy his hair has lasted this long.
Ok, so maybe not all Italians go bald, but there are many that do.
I bet a lot of Italians have high testosterone to begin with, then add the DHT increase when they hit 25, you have a formula for baldness.
And how come we are still on this "everybody that has muscles and is in shape is on steroids"? This is crazy. Yes, many people are juicing, but it is not that hard if you have decent, let alone good or great genes.
Look a "Natural" bodybuilder, no steroids, but I am sure many will somehow figure out a way of accusing him of it.

People really need to get off their asses and go to the gym or do something productive that builds muscles.
Once you have a foundation, it is really not hard to keep muscle on or even grow it back if you lose it from injury or starving yourself.
People are picking on the Fear Factor Guy because of what he said about boxing, but we have to remember that he is a comedian, maybe not a funny one, but when he said "boxing is being swallowed", I laughed.
The only sport I see swallowing is the MMA fighters when they are down on the ground, rolling around, blowing eachother.
Kidding, but you get my point. Joe needs to keep quite.
Yes, I agree with some of the things Joe and Dana say, but in the end it is boxing's fault for not responding with making things better.
I know a lot more people that would rather watch two guys slug it out with their fists instead of the grappling that goes on in MMA. I appreciate the skill in grappling, but I and many others like the striking instead.
Boxing needs to go back to the original gloves size or whatever size they were in the "Golden Age"; stop the corruption and clean up.

There is nothing in pro sports better than a good prize fight, though on the average UFC fights are usually better than boxing I would say.
I DEFINETLY agree with this.
UFC is so fast rising because the sport is so conistantly entertaining.
Sure, a few fights are gonna stray here and there, but 90% of the fights are very good.
But with that consistancy comes the inablility to really create an AMAZING fight.
Boxing has the ability have AMAZING AMAZING fights, but with that ability comes the fact that about 40% of fights are boring or worse.
The best and most exciting part of MMA?
Ding Ding Ding....Striking!
Very true. I've tried watching MMA a few times, but most of it was two men in speedos lying on top of each other not doing much. I must have a different view of excitement than most people because that wasn't exciting for me. When they finally do manage to land a good shot (which is usually a wild hook) the fights lasts for another 3 seconds and is done. There really isn't much total excitement. Why is it that they're doing soooo great yet constantly need to try getting boxers to fight in their sport?
there isnt so much science in UFc, they come in throw punches (no defense) until someone gets KO. Or they hug each other go in the floor and have their balls rubbing against his opponent face till he sumits
There is nothing in pro sports better than a good prize fight, though on the average UFC fights are usually better than boxing I would say.
well because im a fan of boxing, I like boxing better.
How many ufc fights are as entertaining as gatti/ward, pavlik/Miranda, Any of pacmans fights.
There is nothing in pro sports better than a good prize fight, though on the average UFC fights are usually better than boxing I would say.
I like strikers--kickboxing, boxing, mau thai or whatever, I just laugh at the cowards that have to take a man down to punch them, or get them in a position where they can submit them and then talk shit like they're more of a man than a person that puts on a boxing gloves and takes punishment that may cause them brain damage down the line.
I care less for grapplers.
I prefer strikers as well, but wrestling/grappling is part of "real fighting."
Some of the biggest names in ancient times were wrestlers like the legend Milo of Croton.
Wrestling is an honorable sport that demonstrates a Man's strength, agility, determination, and stamina.
Fighting is about Winning, and you do what you need to do to WIN. If you do not learn how to wrestle/grapple you are hurting your chances just like if a wrestler does not learn how to strike.
This is also why I like kickboxers because they do not just use just their hands, they use their legs as weapons, weapons that "nature" provided you with.
And are you really going to call this man a pussy?
http://www.omy.se/wp-content/06021403.jpg
Yeah they're not being showcased properly. Why? If you want boxing to be popular in years to come, wouldn't you want to promote new talent as much as possible with established talent?
And I don't know about you, but I find critical fans more refreshing then those who blindly follow. If it takes a sound thrashing from it's fans to make it change, so be it.
Hell, if it weren't for critical fans, MMA wouldn't have been around.
Are we talking striking, grappling or all around work? We come in three flavors.
Hi.
Now you know one person.
And don't be afraid to ask who's hot. I'd be glad to help.
The best and most exciting part of MMA?
Ding Ding Ding....Striking!
I'll recognize MMA as a sport when it's in the olympics. Until then, it's a recreational hobby. Liddell's paychecks prove my point, he makes dick for a world class fighter.
You call that "boxing" in the Olympics?
I disagree and so does Emanuel. The Olympics have destroyed our sport in recent years. It is not like when Ali and Foreman won the gold.
MMA was in the ancient Olympics, it was just called "Pankration."
One more thing, curling is in the Olympics
I like strikers--kickboxing, boxing, mau thai or whatever, I just laugh at the cowards that have to take a man down to punch them, or get them in a position where they can submit them and then talk shit like they're more of a man than a person that puts on a boxing gloves and takes punishment that may cause them brain damage down the line.
I care less for grapplers.
I used to like mma. But its ridiculous for a few reasons...
First of all, yes the guys are skilled, but mostly its wrestlers and grapplers in there, and a lot of the time they basically box each other...Two grapplers boxing/striking really sucks. Just like watching two strikers go at it grappling sucks. This happens a LOT in mma.
Second, you never will get to see really high levels of skill because theres too much going on at once. The second someone gets into a groove, the fight goes into a different area, and basically they have to start all over again. After a while, I just got sick of it, and stick to pure wrestling matches/pure boxing matches, where they will get into the realm of fine art.
Third, in boxing, theyre constantly fighting each other. I know how the ground game works, but a lot of the time people just stall in each others' guard. And when theyre striking, they basically dance around for a while, throw a punch, get outta there again. The finishes are nice often, but there are such HUGE peroids of inactivity....
Lastly, and most importantly, THERE ARE PRACTICALLY NO TRUE TOP GUYS IN MMA. Upsets are commonplace! Mirko CroCop, the seeming #2 fighter in the world got an 'easy' fight that was basically just there to pave his way to his title shot against a guy NO WHERE NEAR the top ten lists, and got dominated!
Gomi, the seeming #1 guy in the world gets thrown against someone not in the top ten. got his ass beat by basic boxing ability in a stoned off his ass Nick Diaz.
George St. Pierre, the undisputed, absolte best WW in the world gets an easy fight against a reality show winner no where near the top ten, gets dominated by Matt Serra with basic boxing ability when his kicks get countered.
And worst of all, Rogerio and Aronas losses. these two were easily top 5 fighters...at least! they give Rogerio a bum, who has had only THREE fights, and was dominated and knocked out badly in the first round by a NOBODY. He knocks the **** out of Rogerio in the first seconds. Everyone thought, oh, this is a fluke...and this one probebly was. But then this bum, Sokoju or however its spelled from Africa, dominates and knocks out Arona in the first round. So much for the rankings.
Top name fighters get beat left and right easily in mma. There is no such thing as a top guy in mma. If you give a top guy an 'easy' fight against a bum, theres a big chance theyll lose. This sucks...Its like if a champion in boxing fights a tune up fight against someone with a losing record and gets their ass beat...they lose all credibility.

If you pay attention to Rogan at any time when he's not in that Fear Factor sketch on Chapelle's Show, you need to seriously reconsider the things you care about in life. That is all.
I'm not a fan of UFC nor Joe Rogan, but saying it's been swallowed isn't too far off really. Let's take example the megafight with Oscar-Floyd. That shit was hyped to no end. Almost to the point that if you didn't see it, you weren't cool the next day when someone asked you if you saw the fight. But it's like, that kind of hyping and shit doesn't help. If people are gonna watch a fight it's because they should enjoy the sport and follow it. Like any other sport, baseball, baseketball, you got guys talking about the games the next day and whatnot at work. It seems nobody cares about boxing until a big fight comes a long and then they are overhyping shit. I dun like how that works and it could be a testament to where boxing is right now. I'm a boxing fan and will always be. Boxing is the sport of my life and UFC has no place with me. But there has been changes over the past years in boxing and so far I haven't seen any for the better.
