I disagree with Harold Lederman to the point I think the guy is part of a conspiracy, or on a different planet at times..
- Do you agree with Harold Lederman's scoring generally?
- What do you think of this guy?
I used to always agree with him but lately he and Jim Lampley have been coming into fights with preconcieved notions and never stray to far from them in their scoring/announcing regardless of what happens in the fight.

he is on another planet 80% of the time and then once in a while he will get it right
i cant have respect for a man who gave taylor wright a draw....particularly giving taylor the last round :nonono:
That is one of the few times ive disagreed with him. I think winky won that fight.

You know what he tends to have the same scores i have, i dont mind his scoring, but recently its been getting poor, with the Barrera Marquez fight he scored, dunno how he had that one for barrera, he must have been watching something else, i think he had De La Hoya mayweather 116-112 mayweather tho, which is fair, even though i had 117-111 floyd.
Lederman is, for the most part, pretty right. A lot of the time when I disagree with him on rounds, theyre usually very close ones that could go either way...not everyone agrees on those.
rarely though, he throws out rounds that are completely off and im sit there just thinking...hmm, he mustve been getting a beer or something.
He, overall, does a pretty good job though.

One of the judges actually had Miranda up after five. It's a good thing Kelly got the KO, because HBO had some bribe-money involved apparently.
Seriously HBO are more corrupt than Don King these days. But they bring us the fights so I'll live with it.
Pavlik would have been robbed if he would have taken the advice of Lewis and got on his bike and jabbed. Good thing he didn't get off the gas petal or it would have been terrible for him. HBO had to much riding of Miranda for him to lose. Total garbage and yes HBO is not beyond corruption.
I have to agree with the first post.
it was on boxing after dark card where I saw a mini-doc on Harold Lederman
they said that he takes off the HPs so he is not influenced by the commentators.
Yet, I caught many and I mean many instances, where, when he is givin us the scorecard in the begining a round, he gives response to what the broadcast team said in the previous round. that means that either its BS that he takes the HeadPhones off or he is sitting within lestening distance.
Basically (and I have checked) he responds to comments in the previous rnds (and not just the beginning) when he should have had the Headphones off.
Feel me, if you dont, this is the best I can say it:puppy_dog
I have noticed as well and figure he is in listening distance. Since I have seen fighters respond to HBO commentators, so they must be talking loudly. Been Ringside for Fox Sports Ndou fight and I couldn't hear them. HBO must be yelling.

I think he's hot and cold. Sometimes he'll give a round to a fighter and it makes me question why humans are allowed to walk the earth. for instance he gave Jirov round 6 of the fight with Toney....a round in which Toney was landing at will and was clowning Vassiliy.
Other times he'll come out with cards that make sense to me. He's hit or miss.
haha no no Ledermen is wrong alot atleast the way he lets his views show, for example the Taylor fight 1 judge had it 117-107 or some shit and he said something along the lines of that judge couldnt judge a pig race, haha i thought Spinks actually did a good job maybe not 117-107 work but i can see certain people actually given him the fight.. Ledermen assumes his always right and well since the judges cant stick-up for themselves of course people will agree with the guy running the broadcast more
Most of the time he's pretty good, but then he comes up with a score that seems way out of line, pretty well exclusively on the HBO backed fighter - obvious very close fights that he scores as shutouts for the HBO guys I've seen a number of times, & some pretty dubious wins that should of been losses to the HBO guys.
The Sky sports team I tend to agree with mostly - Jim Watt tends to be pretty well spot on most of the time.
Agreed on all accounts. The Sky team is very good - at least in calling US fights, or any fight where they don't have a vested interest. I've heard them get overly excited for one of their own on more than a few occasions.
Harold's hit and miss, just like any other judge. Sometimes his cards are bizarre (esp. when it comes to Jermain Taylor) but for the most part it's not that bad. Yes, the JMM-MAB fight was a bad one. But a lot of times when his score is off, there's generally a wide disparity over the same fight on any given message board, which brings it right back to scoring being subjective.
I usually agree with Lederman on his scores, but sometimes he gives guy rounds and Im thinking to myself how did he give him that round, but for the most part I think he does a good job.
