This has to be one of the hardest ones to predict.
It could be an all out war just as easily as it could be a complete bore.
I think it'll be a great fight, cause again, even if hatton starts out clinching he'll find out really fast that thats no way to beat Castillo. He'll probably get rocked the way he lunges in with the clinch anway.
Should be a great fight
It surprises me how many people pick HATTON by Knockout.
Castillo is built like a rock, it takes some extraordinary power to knock this guy out. He's been stopped a few times, but its always on his feet. From cuts and from just being out of it.
Hatton might be the first to drop Castillo, but i dont think he'll stop him
I think both guys are going to take this fight very seriously and we should be treated to a great fight. This is the biggest name Hatton has fought since Tszyu and Castillo is looking to get his career back on track vs an undefeated and highly touted fighter.
Well Hatton cant hold here in the states...we saw what happened when he tried that against Collazo...he got broken up. You are right about Castillo though regarding holding.
Hatton is not bigger but smaller...didnt you read the stats? his only advantage is age.
Oh you're absolutely right, he couldn't hold in the States. Therefore the criticisms he faced after the Urango fight do not apply. In the US the refs don't let you hold, ergo Ricky Hatton didn't hold against Urango.
Hatton is bigger than Castillo. Put it this way: I'm a lt heavy. There's a lightweight at my gym who is taller than I am and has a longer reach. Who is bigger? Hatton is bigger than Castillo in terms of body mass.
I think it will all depend on how sharp Castillo is. If he is really sharp it will be really exciting as he punishes ricky. If he isnt, it will be boring since he wont be able to keep hatton from clinching him all night long.
I can't see this being lacklustre. Even if Hatton does try to hold a lot he's going to be right in Castillo territory. But Hatton is bigger and stronger and should pull through.

Castillo's fighting in the wrong weight class, he was leaps better at 135. He is going to get his ass rocked against hatton.
Hatton is 5'6" w/65" reach...Castillo is 5'8" w/69" reach. Hatton fought @ 140 mostly and Castillo @ 130-145. Dont think weight class has much to do here IMO.
Castillo has height and reach advantages and Hatton has age advantage.
Castillo has fought @ higher weights longer than Hatton has too.
I think Castillo will wilt in about rd 8. might take another round or two for ]hatton to get him out of there, but the writing will already be on the wall
everyday of the week this matchup is a WAR
Agree 100% there is no way this CAN'T be a war. I dont see any scenario where it isn't an exciting fight. I dont expect a Corrales vs Castillo 1 repeat but I do think it will be a FOTY candidate.
If Hatton goes in with the mindset he had when he beat Tyzu and Castillo goes in with the mindset of when he fought Chico(rip), then it should be all out war.
This fight is going to be a war. I think Hatton realizes that this is his time to get a big win. This fight is going to be good while it lasts. Even though Hatton might clinch and mess up the trading flow. It's going to good while it lasts.
Castillo wins by SD.
provided they both come into the fight in great shape, it ought to be a war.
castillo in his last fight didn't throw that many punches and had a hard time getting off shots.
hatton in his last fight got a little tired and started clinching a lot.
if they're in good shape those two elements will not be an issue.
but one thing i do know about castillo, if hatton tries to clinch like that castillo will make him pay, that is castillo's bread and butter, the inside clinch, castillo knows how to make it work there.
i think this fight is going to be extremely dirty, both guys like to rough house and foul constantly!!! non stop fouling between the two i'm willing to bet. from the very first round too...................
Castillo's the more technically polished fighter, but Ricky's the most exciting fighter I've ever seen
If Ricky can roll back the years it'll be a Waaar!
