i was thinking about this today and it occurred to me that maybe manny stewards other interests in his other fighters is a factor in their shaky relationship. take for instance with Andy Lee, ??
i think there may be something to this, not on jermains end but moreso on mannys... manny is very fatherly with his fighters, he likes to bond with them and is very old fashioned kind of guy... lee for instance lives with steward om detroit, they cook for each other, live like a husband and wife... manny takes a special pride also in bringing guys up from the beginning... guys like hearns, lee and johnathon banks are all guys who are and always will/would be with manny... i think these are the kind of relationships he treasures and i think thats why he keeps doing his job with such passion... i think klitschko has humbled himself to manny 100 percent for example because he has always been looking for that kind of trainer/fighter relationship. can anyone imagine wladamir at any point dumping steward as a trainer?? Hed be frikin bonkers!
taylor meanwhile, obviously thinks he has already arrived and that manny is there just to be a little polish on the trophy
you know, whether it is a chemistry problem or not, taylor was given some sound advice. no matter what he thought of manny, wouldn't you think he would want to execute good advice and make the fight much more easily winnable and try to take it as far out of the judges hands as possible?
this reminded me of jones claiming he lost the 3rd tarver fight cause he didnt want his dad to get all the glory

Breaks my heart to see a fighter a great one at that ends up like that :(
McClelan v Hopkins cuda been a great fight.

yeah i said the same thing earlier in this post or another about this. at the very least taylor should've followed stewards advice on the principal alone of being a "professional" regardless of what he feels about steward, unless steward was caught laying into taylors wife or some shit like that before a fight. other than that they are supposed to be professionals and act like it. ignoring your trainer, not to professional. not only ignoring him but kind of brushing him off. oh well, taylor has to live his life regardless of whatever. good luck to him.....
Boy, you can really tell who Manny thinks should have won the fight.
Dooomed! We’re dooomed!!! You've gotta go out and fight, man. It won't make any difference, but just go out and fight.
was thinking about this today and it occurred to me that maybe manny stewards other interests in his other fighters is a factor in their shaky relationship. take for instance with Andy Lee, taylor drops long time coach, moves himself to a completely different gym, where a guy who has 9 pro fights is top dog in his gym? that has got to play on the ego of taylor, but what if he doesn't feel the same kind of dedication from steward that manny is giving Lee?
taylor might be a little home sick for burns, maybe? it's a possibility, i could see how a fighter could feel like he isnt getting what he thinks he needs or deserves. because if you watch manny in the corner of each fighter, you get a totally different manny steward, in Lee's corner you get a calm steward with only a few adjustments and some praise.
in Taylor's corner you get frantic Manny going blue in the face. Manny wasn't all that self contained in the wright fight too. i thought manny only acted like that when he was excited that lewis was going to KO tyson. but obviously steward gets worked up when his fighter doesn't execute the game plan.
but yeah, that is element i think is a factor in their lack of chemistry, manny's other stable of fighters. i don't know how many fighters burns trains but i do know that taylor was his first and foremost priority. is taylor getting that from steward??????

my opinion, manny should discontinue to train jermain. taylor was given probably the most honest and probably best advice he could recieve. he is in the corner, barely acknowledging that he's taking it in, and goes out to do nothing but the same thing round after round.
steward looks like he got disrespected. taylor got great advice as i said - all jermain had to do was just try to walk spinks down and let his hands fly. chances are likely he would've eventually caught spinks with something. and cory wasn't nothing much to fear as he is a somewhat feather fisted counter puncher. JT didn't have to worry about catching a bomb on the chin, just walking spinks down and try to make a fight out of it - since cory didn't look like he did.
i can do nothing but shake my head when i think of the people that paid good money for seats and got to watch a sparring match for a main event.

Poor Manny, he deserves a fighter that will respect his experience and knowledge of the sport. Someone who will always make his greatest effort to execute the game plan. Can anyone imagine what Wlad would look like in some of his recent fights if he blew Steward off the way Taylor does? Yikes!
I know Manny is far too much of a classy guy to ever make such a statement to the public, but I would be willing to bet that if Manny had his choice of which corner to work in a Pavlik/Taylor fight, I bet he would rather be with Pavlik.
That was funny shit but all respect to Steward. He was talking the truth. That fucking idiot Taylor is garbage. The question is isn't, should Taylor stick iwth Steward, it's, should Steward continue to look bad training Taylor. The guy doesn't listen and he looks like crap in the ring. Just dump his ass already!
i know for a fact taylor is not feeling emmanuel anymore and maybe is taking all advise personal, boxing is a rough sport, a boxer can't get mad if the trainer is not getting the results he wants.....in this case emmanuel communicates with taylor but taylor does not respond so we are missing something.......taylor is not comfortable a boxer should trust his trainer....
even to push him and get the best ut of you..and shit be up-front....."let your hands go, he can't hurt get out there and make it a fight damn it"
What a shitty fight. Manny vs whoever trains Spinks would have made for a more exiciting fight. I doubt Taylor will fight Pavlik, and if he moves up I hope Calzaghe whups his ass. If Taylor fought Pavlik he'd be forced to fight and maybe mess up his hair and maybe get blood on his $1,000 suit, so he probably wouldn't do that.
Its taylors fault Manny is the best trainer in the past 10+ years in my opinion he knows how the game works.and whatever he tells you better do it because that its what is going to win you the fight look at the klitschko austin for an example.
