get this, taylor was clearly asked if he will fight pavlik next. he nearly avoided the question by saying he will fight whoever can get him the $. so, he will not fight pavlik next if he can get more money somewhere else.
what a pussy.
if i were a taylor fan, i would be embarressed.

he better take whoever is the biggest payday right now! because i think his run at holding the title is going to be short lived, he better cash in while he can and while he still has a belt and can demand the money, because taylor is looking worse each fight out, total regression.......................
that is what is shitty about boxing now, guys will make fight after fight fighting softer competition and hold out for the big payday, but they will risk record and health going for the big payday instead of trying to build it up. they don't want to take a risk in preparing themselves for a tough fight and hide behind money, having big gaps of inactivity, and then sign for a big fight and basically go in there unprepared. like chris byrd, fighting softies taking long stretches of time between fights and then step up against the top dog of the game in the heavies, basically under prepared, and look what happened to him he got creamed because he didn't prepare himself, he just went for the gusto and got dusted.
and as of right now after taylor's last two fights (not saying that ouma was a softy but he was a lot smaller guy) are following that kind of game plan, and looks like it might lead to a showdown with calzaghe and if that happens i think taylor comes in way under prepared and gets creamed, all because he doesn't want to take risks, doesn't want to build up his experience with tough fights, and wants to hide behind the money until he gets a big payday(or bigger i should say) and when he does he's going to be in the ring under prepared and not have a viable game plan.
rant..............
Spinks is one of the hardest fighters to look good against. Mayorga didn't look good vs him and Mayo is aggressive as a shark.
Mayorga is aggressive, but he didnt seem to have the technique to get to Spinks, where Taylor is supposed to.

Pavlik is a good fighter, but those of you who are his fans are silly to think he will kick Taylor's ass. Pavlik does not run like Cory, and is not a pure boxer like Cory. Pavlik has already lost to Taylor in their amateur days, and it will happen again because Taylor is just physically a notch above Pavlik. But it should be a good fight while it goes on.
I thought Taylors fight with Spinks was meant to boost his confidence and score a knockout. It looks as it didnt help at all, just created more questions around him. A champion with low confidence is a champion waiting to fall.
The only "money" fights for jermain are against calzaghe and roy jones. If he fights anyone but those 2 the money wont be much different and we can officially say he's ducking pavlik.
yeah taylor has dropped the ball but calzaghe is a p4p fighter palvik is not and is the bigger man too... taylor fighting REAL competion is what is needed. who is the bigger challenge/threat palvik or calzaghe ???
fuck that, joe needs to fight kessler and taylor should fight kelly. besides the winner of pavlik/miranda was supposed to get a shot anyway.
Yeah but they shouldn't admit it! I wanna be under the illusion that they're looking to fight the best. lol
LOL i was thinking the same thing, i wanna feel like that too
"IM WILLING TO FIGHT THE BEST, ANYTIME!!" haha.
Winky asked for more money than he was offered. Are you telling me that Taylor made more money fighting Ouma and Winky made more fighting Quartey than they would have made fighting each other? I don't think that’s the case unless HBO is seriously fucked up.
If Winky was the one playing it safe by avoiding Taylor then Taylor still could have made more by fighting Calzaghe or Miranda than by fighting spinks.
i DONT think winky was avoiding taylor as much as he felt he won the first fight (which i think he did ) and wanted 50/50 parity. Thats on wright, and nobody else, even if i feel hes a bit justified asking for it.
Name one undisputed champion in the game right now who is fighting the best for less money. Name one. We both know Why winky didint take the rematch and thats his own problem

Hey, I wasn't a Pavlik fan before tonight, because I thought he may have been one of those overprotected fighters whose record doesn't reflect their skill. I had seen Miranda fight several times though, and I was shocked watching what happened tonight. I know Miranda was technically limited, but he still had beaten Eastman, Abraham (despite the judge's ruling), and Green. Watching someone come right at him and put the beating on him that Pavlik did, and even more impressive to me, absorbing Miranda's bombs (although I think he was hurt a couple of times) he's made me a believer in Pavlik too.
Hey, if Allen Green had been able to pull of this performance, I would have been equally impressed. Everyone (myself included) wanted to see Taylor-Miranda...why should everyone not be as excited to see Taylor-Pavlik now?
Miranda was not my boy you idiot
didn't say he was, did i?
you should've learned to read before you learned to type.
and cut that shit out about white fighters this, white fighters that.
are you racist? maybe you only like non-white fighters. jump off of my thread. you have nothing interesting to add. and nobody really wants you here.
I'm not suprised he said that. At least he didn't lie or look stupid. I would fight for the most cash too.
........you're sad. Not because you'd fight for more money too, but that your still defending what he said........
I don't disagree with your point, Black Jesus, but another factor to look at is risk. I'll bet Taylor could have made more money fighting winky than Ouma or spinks. But he chose to fight the latter two because he figured he can't lose.
I think tonight either Pavlik or spinks put a scare in Taylor. He wants to go for the big payday now and not take chances.

Gunstar, it is stupid to bring race into this discussion. You can live in ignorance thinking you can judge a person based on their skin-tone, but try to limit discussion on a boxing forum to boxing skills. If you weren't impressed with Pavlik's performance tonight against an excellent fighter like Miranda, then that ignorance extends to your understanding of boxing skills as well.
you are right childave. there is no reason to bring race into it. the poor sheepfucker must be sore because his boy lost. or because....
Taylor lost me as a fan tonight after hearing his piece of shit interview. How the hell can you tell the fans that your going to fight who ever brings more money to the table when the biggest fight for him in the division is already there? Just imagine if Cory Spink's promoter offered Taylor a lot of money for a rematch, Taylor would skip a meaningful fight for a dud just to put more money in his pockets without giving a shit what the fans think.
good to hear that. if i was a fan, i wouldn't be now either. if taylor was an exciting fighter, he would be making decent money almost no matter who he fights.
it is understandable that fighters want the money, but unless you have absolutely no passion or just don't care about the fans, your not going to take an easier, boring fight simply because you can make a little more off of it.
Any boxer will fight for more money, you've to be retarded no to.
Taylor already owned Pavlik in the amateurs and he will do in the pros when they fight.
J you're just a white fighter nut-hugger, now suddenly out of no where you're on Pavlik balls.
Yeah, but who cares about how much money he'd make because we're not getting any of it, so I don't even know why that gets brought up.
....Well I heard the amateur fight was a close one and its been a long time since that fight. Plus to me Taylor has looked like crap in each of his fights ever since his first fight with Hopkins.
....lol, I've checked out a lot of boxing forums already and its amazing how many Pavlik sigs and avatars I've come across after tonights win.........these posers jump bandwagons and nut hug others out of nowere like 80's rock groupies.
