some people call me soft, some people say im scared, some people say i run away in fights...these people need to look up the definition and whole purpose of boxing
hit and not get hit...get it into your fucking brains, thats the whole idea of boxing, when floyd "runs",he has automatically mastered half of boxing and thats not being hit.
the other half is hitting people, which to be brutally honest im quite sure he does that quite often seing as its his JOB.
FUCK OFF WITH THE FLOYD RUNS THREAD THATS BOXING IF YOU DONT LIKE IT UFC 71 IS DUE SOON.
Care to explain how he's a coward and will not face anyone in their prime??
Most of his wins comes against guys in their prime.
Most of his 130-135 wins YES... agreed...
All of his 140 and upward wins NO...With the exception of maybe Judah.. who has still never been able to make his talent work for him..
It's like Floyd is stuck in 2002.. and all his fights since then have been against guys whose last good days were 2002...
Take Oscar or Mosley for example.. Fighting these guys today is kinda pointless.. he had a chance 5 years ago when they AND him were both at the top of their games.. Now he is still at the top of his game.. But Oscar and Shane aren't..
Another fine example is Felix Trinidad...Why fight a guy who is retired??
When you can fight a fresh facsimile who is undefeated?(Cotto)
Then I hear an Argument about Paul Williams and Him being the guy who will beat Mayweather.. but that ..THAT fight is still 2 years away.. and then IT WONT BE FAIR FOR FLOYD BECAUSE HE WILL BE 32..!!!!
Can You not see the Hypocracy????
Good post! The haters are your casual fans who really don't know the sport of boxing.
I am Not a casual fan.. I understand exactly what Floyd does in the ring..
That's NOT the problem...
The problem is the MOUTH....
The problem is the TALK
The SELF proclamations of GREATNESS..
And say whatever you want about Floyds TALENT
But the man is a coward.. and he will not face anyone in their PRIME..
Now he is Calling out TITO????
case and point..
some guys boxing skills are so well engrained that even when fighting with their fighters instinct they box beautifull. That is a great 'boxer.' Not this Floyd shit.
Certain people have boxing skills that are so well engrained that their nearly instinctive and even when fighting purely with their fighters instinct they still stay within their boxing technique. That is a great 'boxer.'
i think willie pep does more slipping and rolling than running, floyd does the opposite so there is a difference. floyd would stand and trade for a few seconds, and even if he connects flush, he doesn't have the killer instinct to follow up. watch willie against saddler, he wouldn't get black and blue if he kept running like floyd.
How far did Willie Pep move up in weight?
Just remember Floyd down in the lower weight-classes.
I here what you're saying Bro. BUT when you say "don't get hit", the unevidable will surely happen...won't be able handle adversity when he does get hit. RJJ barely "got hit" through out the 90's, P4P great...until he GOT HIT! ain't knocking Floyd's style, he does manage to keep winning. Just that "sweet science" was ALI's thing, SSL, and even Camacho had it at one time. Floyd just make's it boring with too much running.
floyd didn't run againt
sosa
ndou
judah
chop chop
sharmba
or gatti
all around his weight
but, he did move alot against
baldy
dela hoya
the bigger guys
he did what he was suppose to can't hit what u can't catch
i guess he is a smart fighter and against delo hoya he did start making him pay didn't he???

I've done way more than just watch Sadler. :fing02:
Sandy Sadler could mug an anorexic dipped in baby oil rolling down a hill.
Check out more of Pep's fights.. :killyou:
Yep. :fing02: I agree Azza.
Willie Pep was a similiar fighter in regards to the evasive rollout stype stuff..
Mayweather does what's appropriate for the situation.
He stands and trades.
He rolls out.
Boxing at it's best is performed that way. :fing02:

I thought Oscar won the fight, but to be honest I didnt see any of this "running" people are talking about. What I saw was a lack of desire to throw more than 2 punches in a row in fear of retribution, and innacurate 1-2's at that.
Floyd is an excellent defender, but in most fights he also shows good striking ability. Oscar's defense, even though the punchstat idiots blindly ignored it, was impeccable for much of the fight. Floyd was actually landing shots late, a sure sign that oscar did not have the energy to keep the D up any longer. The question then would be, why didnt floyd execute part B of the plan after tiring Oscar out, much like he did to Zab Judah etc, and turn it on late on the burned out fighter?
Floyd doesnt have the killer instinct needed to back the trash talk up(though he could finish at lower weights...it might be a fear issue i dunno).
I wouldnt call floyds boxing endeavors "fights". What he does is perfectly legal and works, but boxing is supposed to be entertaining above all else, and in that regard he fails half the time.
I like Hopkins, he is a good person and floyds not. Hopkins tries to help out philadelphia, while floyd is really a complete asshole who tries to make himself out to be a good guy by giving little donations to charities and such.
That right there shows EXACTLY how little you know about Floyd at all.
you guys must hate Bernard then...
Hopkins is my fav. boxer all time, and he would only throw like 8 punches a round sometimes.
Its dude's strategy, and he is undefeated, and the best boxer in the world right now.
Plus he'll be in a lot better shape than a lot of other boxers later in life.
Right but Miranda is a come forward pressure style fighter. Calzaghe also really doesn't employ much footwork. Anybody that actually fights in a similar style but doesn't qualify as a runner? See if you want to call what Cory Spinks did in the last round against Karmazin or what Winky did in last round against Taylor...that is running. They did not want any engagement for the entire round. Mayweather (imo) moves selectively and just fights when he wants to...that is called controlling the pace of the fight. I understand it may not be the pace you most enjoy but give the guy a little credit.
I agre with everything everybody says about floyd, it is totally legal and well done, but you fucked your post saying winky ran from taylor in the last round...
Miranda and Calzaghe both don't run away from their opponents in the ring atleast.

What is your opinion...that moving arounds is running? If not then please tell me who a fighter is that incorporates movement without falling into the category of "runner."
your opinion is fuck all,not liking floyd mayweather is like not liking the cunt that invented the internet which you sit on everyday,it dont make sense to insult the best at the sport that you love the most which is why ur here. you cant say floyd is shit and love boxing, hes the best at boxing so if you dont like him it doesnt make sense for you to love boxing atall, hes keepin it alive
