I wouldn't care so much as to Hamed's punches. No single punch would be able to topple Erik. But Erik would be able to hurt Hamed a lot.
I don't buy so much into the Hamed hype. Morales and Marquez would beat him worse than Barrera.
Could go either way.
As ELPacman said, Barrera beat Naz with discipline, & could Morales stop himself going to war when things heated up.
He's showed many times in the past that he can stay focused & pick the times when he exchanges - can he do against Naz & not run into too many big shots?
One thing to remember is that Morales had one of the best chins in boxing, so could likely recover from the occaisional bomb.
Would edge Morales in a very exciting fight as long as fights a smart fight, which he has done many times.
Morales would beat Naz in just as dominant a fashion as Barrera did if he had fought him in his prime. Morales had an excellent chin just. Not to take anything away from Pac who is great but even he couldn't 1 punch KD Morales. He broke down a lesser version of Morales with a mixed body and head attack.
Naz wasn't a break you down fighter he was a 1 hit power shot guy that threw from incredibly weird angles and still maintained freakish power while throwing at these angles. However this also caused him to be unbalanced a lot and often unable to put together combos due to unbalance.
Morales vs Naz, Morales by UD 8rds to 4.
Morales was all wrong for Hamed. He had the skills, power, style and chin to take Hamed's best and dish out even more.
Wayne McCullough said Erik Morales had more power than anyone he ever faced. He also said that Erik Morales was the toughest opponent he has ever faced.
kelly said nas was the harder puncher of the 2, and picked him over morales
Morales is a legedendary fighter, no doubt, but that's for a reason. His toe to toe wars. There's no way he could maintain a 12 round discipline as Barrera did to foil the Prince. Muchless, Erik's emotions easily drag him into a war. Unfortunately, he wouldn't have enough power to keep the Prince honest and I think with the amount of shots Erik would get hit by, he could be stopped. Hamed without a doubt was one of the biggest hitters in recent times. Barrera said there was a shot that slipped off his shoulder and into his chin that Hamed landed and it shook him up. That was after he fought Manny and was asked what was the hardest punch he ever got hit by. I'd pick Hamed by late stoppage on this one. Erik is great, but he is no Barrera and would be dragged into a war with a bigger puncher.
Anybody who went toe-to-toe with Naz ended up cold; he just loved it when you engaged with him, infact he encouraged you to do it, Morales does exactly that. Know if Morales were to box, maybe he could pull off the win but we all now once Morales would get tagged hard, he’d instantly go to war. Naz is all wrong for Morales (as well as Pac and Pre 2000 MAB).
