I thought that was the best Floyd's body ever looked. Obviously he was bigger then ever but he even carried it more well this fight. He looked wide, had big arms, and it had no negative effect on him. He still had his speed and seemed to have more pop then he's had at 147. I think those small gloves helped also. Thats why I was a little dissapointed in Floyd. I personally still thought Oscar tried hard as hell and did everything he could while Floyd just cruised. To me it looked like Floyd couldve killed him if he let his hands go. I thought he arguably looked like he had more power then Oscar. When Floyd was blocking Oscar's punche he would just stand there and take it but when Floyd threw a straight right that Oscar would block, there were alot of times where Oscar took a step back "after" the punch. He knocked Oscar off his base alot of times with that punch, even when he clearly blocked it.
I didnt get to watch all the 24/7's so I dont know if Floyd did anything special for this fight or got a fitness trainer but I thought he looked very solid. Way bigger then he even looked at 147 despite him being basically the same size. I think if he goes back down now then he will be a full blown WW and if he stays Offensive like he does in half his fights then he will phyiscally shock alot of guys. I would love to see him keep those reyes gloves also. I doubt it since he said he hurt his hand again but I think they certainly help your power. Again, in the Oscar fight I honestly believed Floyd was worried. I think he was wondering if he could carry his speed and have any power but more importantly he wondered would Oscar be this big freak who punched like a truck and was really strong. Even his dad was telling him in camp to watch out for Oscar's power and really respect it. I think that put Floyd in a respect mode that he didnt need to be in. You could see that as the fight went on he felt that the size wasnt nothing special and that he had just as much strength and power as Oscar despite being outweighed by 20 pounds. In a rematch he would show him alot less respect and at 147 I think he will be a monster now
I don't think anybody got hurt. And De La Hoya's hook didn't land once. The counter right by Floyd was a stun through speed, but nothing serious I don't think.
i heard he got bigger by doing daily bitch slaps on his girlfriend.
he would do 10 sets of 5 reps, followed by 3 drop sets of kicking the family dog until it squealed.
He would usually finish these bulking up workouts by taking some candy from a nearby infant to build up his lats.
yes, he looked bigger and way more phisically fit. In the 5th round he hit DLH with full leverage and made him pause. DLH was fighting as if he had nothing to lose, he was often careless with his punches and in turn he was countered quite a bit.
hey guys, go back and watch the beginning of round 11 when floyd landed a jab on oscar's body. watch the sound he makes.
it was a funny sound lol unfortunately for you it occured when floyd ram his body into oscar's going in for a clinch not the body shot
dlt,pbftxrs
I know you guys are big floyd fans, but you also understand boxing. So let me point out the following.
Dont fall in the trap in which floyd haters typically fall.
they usually say stuff like: "IF Oscar (Zab, whoever) kept on doing this THEN he would have won." And they forget there is a reason for what happens in the ring.
So now you guys are saying "Floyd could have been more aggressive, go more to the body". That was my exact same thought. "why not more body attack, he knows that's where he is going to hurt Oscar. Not the head, not if tito, hop, vargas, mayorga did not hurt him to the head.
In a later round, Floyd gets at mid-range (kinda like in the judah fight), he lands a series of punches pretty much at will, never getting hit. To me that was his biggest moment in the fight, but he did not follow up. Why? I dont know, but I think t is the same reason, for which he didnt work the body more, he chose not to stay at mid range and offer Oscar more chances to land that hook. Floyd was the one in the ring with Oscar, and he was the one feeling the punches. Just like Zab and Oscar were the ones throwing less and less punches.
Also, like you, i did not see Floyd in trouble at any time, but we know he is a smart fighter, and if he was ever hurt, he did not want to show that to a great finisher like Oscar.
Come on man, Floyd does that all the time. Alot of times he jerks his body all the way until he's bent over. One time I thought his hand touched the floor because he bent over so far and I was scared they were going to call it a knock down even though he wasnt hurt at all. Its just like Sweet Pea use to do. He wasnt hurt
You know you are a nuthugger when you are afraid for a fighter. It's just a damn fight and life goes on wether your favorite fighter wins or loses. Get a grip man. That is the funiest shit I have heard "I was afraid for Floyd". Fuckin hilarious.
hey guys, go back and watch the beginning of round 11 when floyd landed a jab on oscar's body. watch the sound he makes. oscar was hurt by the punch for sure. then after that in the same round, floyd hit oscar with a left hook to the face and then to the body and oscar paused like he was hurt. then watch round 12 when floyd throws a right straight on oscar's head, oscar stumbled back and the crowd sighed with awes. the 5th round oscar knees buckled, and that same round when floyd landed a 1-2 punch and oscar was stunned for a second. floyd hurt oscar more than what you guys think. i've watched the fight now over 17 times, and i've rewinded so many times that my fingers are smushed in. oscar landed punches that floyd took well. floyd looked stronger than oscar in this fight. floyd landed crisper punches and he did hurt oscar several times. i wish i could post the 11th and 12th round on here, but i have to wait.
oh yeah, and if floyd went to the body more, like i've posted several times now, he would have kncoked oscar down or out, i guarantee you. floyd landed some nice body shots. he just didn't stay consistent with them like he usually does. floyd claimed that oscar would be surprised with his power, and i'm oscar was and many other people. like it's been stated by other boxers, floyd hits harder than you think.
I thought that DLH would easily be able to KD Floyd, but when I saw floyd's physique I changed my mind. He was in too good a shape to get KOed I knew it was going to a UD. I thought floyd got hit with some good shots and was able to shake it off.
Floyd was hurt serveral times. Most of the floyd fans interpreted it as him using footwork to get away from oscar on the ropes, but Oscar buckled his legs several times. I think Oscar got shook a little bit twice.
Stop smoking crack.

Floyd LOOKED Bigger, but he didn't FIGHT like he FELT Bigger....
REED:boxing:
I agree with that and I wish he had. On the other hand, even though he was bigger, Oscar was even bigger
Yeah bro i agree he looked much bigger for this one!!! plus how good was his attack in the later rounds? Jab to the body followed by the right hook to the head!!! Oscar tried his hardest to bully floyd but only seemed to make him smile!!! I dont think they need to meet again because next time floyd will stop Oscar!!!
How do you figure that? When was Floyd hurt? Neither was really hurt but the only guy to get buckled was Oscar in that 5th round when he tried to flurry on Floyd on the ropes and he got caught with those 2 rights. When was Floyd hurt at all? Dont just listen to what Oscar says. Oscar says that dumb crap but Floyd was never hurt
I agree. Zab rattled Floyd with a straight left that had Floyd covering up until he recovered. Same with Corley. I didn't see any of that with DLH. Oscar landed some shots that stopped Floyd in his tracks, but they never "hurt" him in a sense that he was dazed. Floyd's right hand that buckled Oscar was the only punch in the whole fight that I thought may have rattled either of them.
floyd was hurt in the fight.. oscar wasnt... but floyd still won on point..but id rather wint the fight then the boxing match
