OK could be , but oscar didn't land anything either. floyd kept dodging everything ! he made oscar look slow. and for me dodging is better then blocking with your gloves, since there is no contact at all. so floyd won !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! face it
man that fight reminded... Me of the Rocky Balboa movie.... The old man retired and was glad to just fight one last time..... But the 24/7 show was better than the fight... I hope they follow more boxers before the fight....
it makes the fight more exciting because it builts the story behind the fight.
there are things that fans dont see much only if the train boxing or see Ippo ( jap anime) I give prop for both fighters in the fight.
and for Floyd his willingness to win and his training made him win the fight and every other fight. and training in boxing is hard and for Floyd he trains more than other boxers is unimaginable that is why i like Floyd the most his work ethic is phenomenal.
and for people who are trying to compare this era of boxing to other era usally that cant be done because of few things first is sometimes the fighter step-up in the competiton for the other person another thing is the money invovle SRL got 10mil for fighting Duran and that was long time ago and boxing was more popular than now in US. as well the evolution of the boxing from the south and PR is style taking boxing by the storm

"I do think that this fight proved that sadly neither man is really an all time great,"
i always knew oscar wasnt a all tim great close fight with an older sweet pea , chavez being able to go toe to toe with him in their second fight until he quit
but i hope after last night that the pretty fans and mayweather will recognize that hes isnt the best ever but i doubt mayweather will
Did we see Mayweather pull an Ali on Oscar by letting him throw his best shots on the ropes in which caused Oscar to gas himself??
I though the same he could have done the same as he did against Baldomir but he did it differently probably because he wanted to make a more exciting fight.
but Floyd should have concentrated at the body more so that he could have KOed Oscar because Oscar was really really tired at the 10th round he Floyd bodypunched earlier the effect of Oscar getting tired like the 10th rounf would be in the 7th or something and so in the 10th round Oscar will be gassed out which could be more vurnable for him to be KOed
Did you just do a ridiculous comparison to an all time great such as ali? I think you just did, wait nope I know for a fact you just did. :nonono:
Floyd can take his belts and shove them up his ass.
Well it worked for them didn't it? :tapedshut
Mayweather is a very awkward fighter. DLH barely landed a solid punch on his all night long. Mayweather's punching was much more crisp and accurate although he also landed very few punches. I do think that this fight proved that sadly neither man is really an all time great, which doesnt say a whole lot about boxing these days. I really did think prior to this that Mayweather was. I hope that he continues so that he can give us some performances that do justice to his talents against other great fighter.
It is a shame then because if Mayweather is not an "all time great" then nobody today is. Boxing has gone down the johnny flusher. At least going by what you say.
Just remember, Floyd's best weight was down in the 130's. This is the weight that makes him one of the best.
That said however, I find it hard thinking Mayweather could beat Sugar Ray Robinson, or even Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns at 147.

This is why boxing should lower glove size, not make them bigger.
Defense should be about making your opponent miss and parrying the punch. Of course you can block with your arms, but it isn't as effective without the big-puffy gloves.
You think some of these fighters could fight the way the fight in a match in a bare-knuckle fight? Nope.
Both guys showed good defense early, Floyd just sustained it throughout the entire duration of the fight. Oscars offense didn't suffer as he fatigued, but his defense did.
true , but somebody has got to win right?. it looked like floyd landed more , but i liked oscars jabs to floyds arms , in like round 7 ?? i'm not sure, floys was def. bothered by those.
