i had it 115-113 for mayweather, though if you give oscar all the close rounds he could have won. mayweather was almost never the aggressor the whole fight, he played defense and really proved Larry merchants point that the guy is a bitch. Not one did pbf look like he wanted the ko.
De la hoya lost cause he got tired, but it just goes to show how much energy you need to keep up with floyd like Oscar did in the early rounds.
Floyd was getting for the most part blocked right hands and caught jabs counting for him, and me and Emmanuel Stewart want to know why.
Mayweather's estranged father also thought De La Hoya did enough to win.
"I thought Oscar won the fight on points, threw more punches and was more aggressive," said Floyd Mayweather Sr., who used to train De La Hoya. "My son had good defense and caught a lot of his punches, but I still thought Oscar pressed enough to win the fight."
what happened to the days were you had to take the belt from the champ:grumble: SD goes to the champ
I think some clever promoter figured that there was more profit to be made from rematches amongst "champions"... :nonono:
I think it could have gone either way. Oscar was the aggressor while Floyd landing cleaner at the end. Oscar seemed to let it slip away more than it seemed Mayweather beat him.
Agreed
Close fight. I had Delahoya ahead.
Whatever the case, hopefully we can put the whole "greatest of all time" nonsense behind us now. Mayweather's a good champ. Nothing more.
i had it a draw
I agree that with your assessment that Mayweather is a good champ nothing more. I did have Mayweather ahead, but he did not deliver the "Massacre" that he promised. Elusive fighter, very good boxer, but a very boring fighter... No way he can be titled "greatest of all time".
i had it 113-115 for mayweather just thought he had clearer shots..couldnt give DLH some rounds like the 11th where he hit just a single good shot or threw a lot but was getting hit flush to much.
I had it 115-113 Mayweather...I think it would be kind of a stretch to give De La Hoya the win imo...but, it was a close fight, and very exciting. the first rounds were back and forth

i agree, clearly mayweather. He not only landed more crisp shots the guy was in control the whole fight... dlh was just trying to rough him up but his punchers were ineffective.
I had 115-114 DLH but could of went either way
i had the same scorecard... but im disapointed with de la hoya...he was not intelligent enough to bang floyds arms/body the way he should have to win a clear decision, but then again, jerry roth and chuck giampa were the judges....
it just proves there are sum nuthuggin DLH fans that can't accept that he lost so they call it a draw
idk what fight u were watchin man but PBF had that fight hands down
HBO and Golden boy talked, thats y DLH got the split
This is laughable coming from a guy calling himself PBF GOAT. LMAO!!! Floyd isn't even in the top 10 all time p4p.
What fight was everyone watching? I had it 116-112 Mayweather.
i gave de la hoya those rounds due to activity, the thing about de la hoya was he didnt throw punches unless they were locked up
