Ricky Hatton is dreaming of a megabucks showdown with Oscar De La Hoya once the 'Golden Boy' is through with Floyd Mayweather Jr on Saturday night.
Both De La Hoya and Mayweather have hinted they could retire after their superfight here at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
But the two men have also been quoted as saying they'd like one more bout, against the undefeated Mancunian light-welterweight king.
Hatton, given the choice, says he'd plump for a meeting with the 'Golden Boy'.
Earlier this year De La Hoya said he'd be happy to move back down to welterweight if Hatton moves up, a prospect that intrigues the British superstar.
He said: "I don't think they have made their minds up yet about retirement. They talk about retiring but the next minute I read on the Internet that they want one more fight and they'd both like it to be against me.
"I think they've seen my fights. They see what I bring to the table as far as the whole package is concerned, in terms of fan base as well. I think the fact they're considering one more fight and they want it to be against me speaks volumes for myself.
"If I had the choice I think I'd like to fight De La Hoya. He's just a massive massive name. He's not just a modern-day legend, looking at all the world titles he's won, he's a legend. He's said he'd come down to welterweight to fight me if I move up."
I think DLH would destroy Hatton within 8 rounds,ur thoughts?
odlh would humiliate hatton. this wouldn't be competitive in the slightest. think mayorga / odlh.
it wouldn't be that bad, because hatton wouldn't have spoken so much smack during the press conference. ....... think oscar / gatti.
its not even competitive, any weight, any time oscar B I T C H E S hatton.
Collazo wasn't a fringe contender, he was an undefeated titleholder. As I recall, Hatton won the fight, I can still picture Collazo being floored in the first round by the smaller Hatton. Hatton has some trouble against southpaws, they don't suit his style, and did look somewhat awkward in that fight. And Collazo is stronger (although less skilled) than PBF, and endures body punches very well. But let's not forget, Ricky won that fight.
Mayweather is tailor made for Ricky's style. PBF would wilt under Hatton's body punches. PBF is very good at avoiding head shots, but his weakness is fighting in close. Hatton would win by mid-round TKO or KO.
:haha: Hatton would KO Floyd? He almost got KO'd by Collazo but he would KO Floyd? Hatton has not looked the same since he stepped up comptition, and the opponents aint even elite,he got that little flash KD in the first round mainly due to balance problems,no way would Hatton KO Floyd,it would be Gatti vs Mayweather all over again
Gatti is a clubfighter, not a real contender, just like PBF said. Hatton is MUCH better, a top level fighter - the Ring Magazine champion at light welterweight, 42-0. It would be a very different fight.
42-0 and his only solid win was against Tszyu, and if i remember Tszyu only fought four times in 4 years
Gatti is a clubfighter, not a real contender, just like PBF said. Hatton is MUCH better, a top level fighter - the Ring Magazine champion at light welterweight, 42-0. It would be a very different fight.
Im sorry ring magazine belt dont mean shit to me in this instance, it doesnt account for hatton keeping the ring belt by continously not wanting to fight legitmate contenders at his own weight.
Aka Junior Witter.
Hatton would destroy Mayweather. This fight may actually happen, after PBF decisions DLH and Hatton defeats JLC, I'm hoping.
1) Your entitled to your opnion, here's mine, if you almost get knocked out by collazo, dont get in the ring with Floyd Mayweather.
2) Ricky hatton dodged mayweather, he dont wanna fight, floyd would leave him looking like a jam doughnut.
(the proof is in sin's sig, before anyone start saying hatton never ducked PBF)
Hatton would destroy Mayweather. This fight may actually happen, after PBF decisions DLH and Hatton defeats JLC, I'm hoping.
Wouldn't it be great to see Hatton hammer Mayweather, after all the negative mouthing off PBF and his fans have done about Ricky?
Hatton would destroy Mayweather? cumon now,Mayweather would make Hatton look stupid and probly stop him on cuts from all the accurate punching,Hatton couldent handle Collazo,Mayweather is 10 times the boxer Luis is,and not to mention Hatton gasses out,i dont even think he would catch him,Floyd by massacre
Ben Rabah done a better job on Urango then Ricky did,the only diference is,Rabah got robbed and Hatton didnt
Your de-fucking-luded.
Oh, the irony.............
Ask them all, they'll tell you. Danny Dyer knows who Hatton is too - he told me in the pub during the England v Croatia game last year.
in other words, hatton is scared to fight floyd, and he thinks he'd have a better shot against oscar for more money, but if he fought floyd or oscar, he'd be paid lovely for both, and of course he'd lose to both imo but floyd would destroy him and oscar might kill him also.
Kosta was one of the top ten greatest light welterweights of all time, and people who refuse to recognize that should be ashamed of themselves.
Yeah I agree, alot of people dont like what he did to their boy Judah.
Hatton is a joke. He goes to war with a fringe contender at welterweight, but he's now good enough to beat Oscar? He won't even get through Castillo...
True,Hatton has been struggling against top 20 opponents,i think he could beat Castillo because Castillo doesnt seem intrested anymore,u cant see the desire in his boxing since the Corrales fight,i think he'd quit if Hatton wrestles him to death, but Oscar would kill Hatton easily,Collazo doesnt even hit hard,he dont box as good as Oscar and he gave Hatton hell, many people beleave Hatton should have lost
Kosta was one of the top ten greatest light welterweights of all time, and people who refuse to recognize that should be ashamed of themselves.
Right name your top 10 right now please.
no one help him, i wanna see his top 10
lol
Kosta was one of the top ten greatest light welterweights of all time, and people who refuse to recognize that should be ashamed of themselves.
lmao @ not being ashamed
I think some people are envious of Ricky Hatton, after all he's 42-0! Only Joe Calzaghe has a better record.
Ricky's defeated an all time great, won titles in two different weight classes, and is the Ring Magazine Champion at light welterweight - and he's still only 28. He's letting a title go in order to fight a top p4p boxer (Castillo).
Britain has some great boxers. Some people write hateful remarks about him, but although some will never admit it, the truth is we all wish we had a fighter like Ricky Hatton over on THIS side of the Atlantic!
Do you know what, i may do a thread on this one day, Kosta Tsyu aint all that, people who call him the greatest 140 pounders of all time should be ashmaed of themselves.
