show me something I havent already seen. jeremy williams has already been starched even worse by henry akinwande. ( I guess he's a huge puncher too? lol) hell everton davis had him out cold with a shot at the bell. and we all know rahman landed the lottery against lewis. when the hell was the last time he so much as put a guy on there back? years! :yeah:

u should patent the owned sign cause u use it the most on here i think.haha
I gave Tyson a 7 chin. But lets get to the real question everyone wants to know. Was it as good as James Toneys? Because he took Samuel peters bombs and evanders and Rahmans. Who would bet against Toney taking LL and Vitali bombs as well.
rahman and holyfield arent big punchers and peter's power is so overrated its not even funny

when you talk about sum1's chin, ur talkin about sum1's ability to take a shot n recover!
wel lets b real, i dont think any1 gave tyson one big shot which made tyson blink for more dan a few seconds!
yes hes been stopped, but like people have mentioned, not once did he have that look of "i see stars" but he had more of a "im takin a beatin, shal i let it continue!?" look! lol
just remember da buster douglas uppercut, da lewis right hand in da 8th! HUGE HUGE shots, and tysons eyes were still clear! he even got back up against douglas!
His chin deserves respect!
He didnt get up vs douglas
3/4 heart based on what exactly? His retirement against McBride. Grow a brain will ya.
If he had a weak heart he wouldn't have had the stomach to take a beating from Douglas for 10 rounds. He'd simply have quit.
He also could have quit against Ruddock twice if he didn';t fancy doing a hard night's work.
He also could have quit against Holyfield when he was losing.
He also could have quit against Lewis after the second round aftrer eating his bombs. He hung around till the 8th round before finally going down after taking a wicked salvo of massive punches all night long.
He could have quit against Danny Williams when his knee went 2:20 into the first round and said 'fuck it'.
He only quit ONCE and that was under the behest of Jeff Fenech, not Mike Tyson.
Just another Tyson hater. How about looking at things objectively and then coming back with a less stupid answer?
.....He mentaly quit in all three of those fights dumbfuck.

I will go with a 7, if he was stopped by guys like Holyfield and Douglas I can't rate him higher then that, both Douglas and Holyfield were not big punchers.
When Bone Crusher Smith hit Tyson the last seconds of the fight he hurt Tyson, this was the same fight Bone hugger was holding Tyson for 12 staright rounds, if he would've braweled with Tyson he might of got lucky and stopped Tyson because Bone Hugger hits harder then Douglas or Holyfield.
Tyson had a good decent chin but def not a great chin, so a 7 is a perfect score for Tyson's chin.
but look how many times they had to hit him (at least to finish him off)
Danny Williams hit Tyson with more than 13 unanswered shots square on the chin. 13 fuckin shots!!!!
I'd rate him an 8. Those shots he took from Lennox where incredible. Ruddock hit him some pretty awesome shots as well. The thing with the heavy's, you have got somebody 230+ pounds that has been trained to punch, you get hit on the beard with a flush shot, your going down. The power that the big guys can generate is pretty fierce.
A 9.5
Tyson IMO has one of the best chins in boxing.
1. he has never been KOed by one shot or even knocked down
2. not unlike other fighters (Lewis, for one), his chin seems connected to his stamina/training.
3. he has taken NUMEROUS shots from guys who have been known to flatten people with one punch
8.5, so i chose 8 and 9. Let's look at the times his chin, not heart were tested shall we?
First time he really got hit was against Bruno, a near 230lb powerfull puncher. If you take a closer look, you'll see that Tyson did not see the punch coming, and it was a counter punch, it reminded me of a Tua-Ike sequence. So anyway, Mike threw 2 left hooks and a right despite getting hammered with that shot, then went into a clinch.
Then against Douglass wich imo, really showed how good his chin was. He took an epic beating for 10 rounds, and it wasn't like he got ko'd by a sloppy finish, no. Douglass really swung in with a huge uppercut that really snapped Tyson's head back, and that might not have been enough to get him down too, because Mike was still on his feet, then took a left hook, a missed right and then another hellacious left hook that again, snapped his head back. After that last punch, Tyson's body language completely changed and succumbed as you could see(and it was after the last punch too, not the uppercut from hell). No matter what you say about Buster Douglass' punching power, you don't know shit about him and you just say he wasn't a big puncher. He ko'd a guy with a jab once, he had long arms and punched with his weight, 230lb. This is a big Heavyweight that had great accuracy that night.
Then against Razor Ruddock, one of the hardest hitters ever. He took Ruddock's smash many times without going down, all the other left hooks and uppercuts would have been enough to KO most men, but Mike just took them.
The loss against Holyfield was more fatique than anything. But He did hurt Tyson many times with counter shots he didn't see coming. Come on now, Holyfield had good power in both hands and he gave Mike a beating with flush shots, but he couldn't get him down.
I don't think i even need to say anything about the Lewis fight. He took an even greater beating than against Douglass, and still managed to take punch after punch until the 8th round where he was bobbing INTO Lewis' right hand. Imagine that, bobbing right to left, and then right into a loaded up right from Lennox Lewis! And he still didn't look like he was out, just out of energy.
Mike didn't have the heart or stamina after that against Williams and Mcbride. And yes, neither did he look hurt against Williams. With a dislocated knee, out of gas taking 28 unanswered punches off balance, you don't even have to look at that.
Excellent post. Spot on my friend!
