I'm putting 5k on Mayweather. I'm interested to see who else from here is putting down real cash on this fight. Especially those who favor DLH, here's a chance to triple your money, how many of you are actually willing to put down a fair amount to back what you're saying? Wonderin' about those who favor Mayweather too. What're your wagers?

im gonna put 20 bucks on a really interesting bet.
I said the fighter who is leading on howard ledermans scorecard after 3 rounds, will LOSE the fight.
I think DLH will take an early lead.
So we're at like $11,500 on mayweather. $500 on DLH. Where are all the DLH lovers promising Mayweather's loss? My original bet was going to be 10k, but that'd leave me broke if DLH pulls off a miracle. Probably I'll be regretting cutting the bet in half come end of the night, May 5th.
10k damn i gotta go to conventions to then. hook me up

I am not betting on this fight because it is too risky IMO......If you take Floyd you will be lucky to get half of what you bet back and it is not that sure of a thing......I like DLH to win but not enough to risk my hard earned cash on......even tho it is paying nearly 3-1.
Not true betting lines often shift drastically. Also most sports betting is done on the week and few days leading to the fight. For the Gatti fight when PBF was relatively unknown by casual fans, I bet late on PBF-Gatti and got a pretty good line on him because the money was going on Gatti. Betting lines are not indications of who is gonna win they are indications of the confidence/hopes of who is gonna win of the people who bet. DLH is a hugely popular fighter, late money is gonna be on him and that will give PBF backers good odds.
The line has already shifted a lot towards DLH from initially being PBF ~ -350 when the lines first opened to ~ -170. I think after the weight-in when PBF comes in at 151lbs the line might drop all the way to a basic -110 or at least -125

I'm too close to the fight game to bet on fights, would not want to take a chance on losing my promotors license, but my money would be on a DeLaHoya win by TKO Round 10 or 11, behind on points Oscar catches Floyd on the ropes ala Vargas with the same results.....
so for someone making 150k a year 5k might be very exciting for them while someone making 25k a year a 5k bet would be retarded. Betting is all relative.
Tip: If you are gonna bet on PBF place bet the day before, almost last minute. I almost guarantee most of the late money will be on DLH which will move the odds and improve the payout for PBF backers. Also for DLH backers vice versa, if you want to bet on DLH place bets now before the line shifts too much.
Well, by your standards I'm retarded. Laughin. I don't make shit right now, as I've been chillin' in Thailand the last 5 months. Losing this won't be leaving me dry, but I'll definetly be returning to the states to work. If I win, I'm going to India. Thanks for the tip by the way. I'll take advantage of it.
hey damian my pick is MAYWEATHER.....yea if i win the bet im gonna post them on ebay....its koo cause i also have super street fighter 2 (arcade machine) and liberty bell (pinball machine)
Street Fighter 2 took many hours of my life as a kid. I hope you don't lose your arcade games...and me my 5g's.
So far we've got 1 person betting $500 on DLH. And like $9000 on Mayweather even though the payout isn't near as hot as DLH's.

$5,000 is a risky bet in boxing. I mean, the outcome of this fight is not certain. There are many questions when it comes to Mayweather- as there are with De la Hoya. Unlike a baseball, basketball or football game this fight might not even go the distance. Accidents happen. What if Oscar is taking the first half of the fight, then they clash heads and it goes to the cards? What if Floyd breaks his hand and pulls out? Just too many unknowns to really put down hard cash on a fight for me.
The thing about betting is not the reward its the thrill of winning or the possibility of "if" you would've won. To make the wager thrilling the payout would have to be significant to the person betting. This conversely means the risk for the better is at least some what signficant to the person betting.

BTW I cap my indivdual bets at $500 a fight or game. I made money on Corrales, PBF, Tito, Hopkins and scores of other fighters and teams. I will definitely place a bet on PBF.

I made a bet with my partner from work.
mortal kombat (arcade machine) vs his $300
and $20 with one of my friends
You know your arcade machine is probably worth triple that on Ebay. But whose your bet on?
i dunno may be at work (plams)
but i was on freemont yesterday and i saw oscar +160 aint it at 140??esle where? might have to go back....
I almost worked at the Palms too, but ended up staying at the Convention Center.
And each casino calculates their take a little differently, so you'll find different odds at different casinos. It's also going to change constantly at each individual casino with the tide of the betting because the casino has to make sure they make something off the whole deal. But your bet is locked in at what you make it at. So if you bet at +140 and it goes to +120, you're still gettin' the odds that were up when you placed the bet. Take a look at Barbary Coast if you get a chance. They supposedly have some of the best odds for betters.
