Someone has surely noticed this but I just did.......The judges scorecards were tighter in the secind fight.... What kind of shit is that.....many would say Castillo took the first fight but nobody would disagree Floyd clearly won the second fight......just thought it was ironic.
1st fight....
Referee: Vic Drakulich | Judge: Anek Hongtongkam 116-111 | Judge: John Keane 115-111 | Judge: Jerry Roth 115-111 ~
2nd fight....
~ Referee: Joe Cortez | Judge: Ken Morita 115-113 | Judge: Larry O'Connell 116-113 | Judge: Daniel Van de Wiele 115-113 ~
Opinions are relative.
But evidence based on round per round hit on Compubox are undeniable. You don't give a round to a guy who threw 30 punches and landed 5.
That's the most basic of common sense in boxing.
Damn. I forgot to touch on the topic of compubox being the most unreliable, idiotic, controversy-causing ESTIMATE in boxing. there are so many fights you can go watch with the volume off and after a round listen to compubox and say "how the hell did they get that". I'm not discrediting compubox for this one fight, I'm saying its a terrible system for ALL fights.
Some of the comments about Mayweather/ Castillo I makes me wonder whether some of you people have ever even watched the fight. Its funny how people say "Castillo CLEARLY won". There were a handful of VERY close rounds that could've gone either way. How you judge those rounds depends on a lot of things. All the Floyd haters automatically give them to Castillo, all the Floyd fans automatically give them to Mayweather. Unbiased and KNOWLEDGABLE (key word) fans realize that they are close and will judge them based on what style they prefer more. Another thing that is funny is all of the threads started here about HBO commentators being terrible, yet when they say Castillo won its all of the sudden the gospel.
another thing to point out about that fight:
Lampley refers to 130 pounds as being Floyd's "more natural" weight in comparison to 135.
not to be an ass but what fight where you watching there was no way in hell that mayweather won that fight..... mayweather was under huge pressure the whole fight. he was doing well till the mid rounds than it was all castillo.
Yeah he was under alot of pressure from Castillo, which is why people think Castillo won.
However, those people for the most part dont know how to score fights.
Way too much emphasis placed on agression in boxing nowadays.

You could easily score the first 5 rounds for Mayweather, and I felt round 11 was pretty clear cut for Floyd as well, that's 6 rounds right there.
lol, Mayweather won the first 5 rounds, and clearly.
You can't give away the first 5 rounds of a fight, and expect to win a decision in a close fight.
Sugar Shane - Oscar 1... i had Oscar winning the first 5 rounds... but he still lost...
a close fight can still have a clear winner
which was the case in the rematch
even tho castillo made it close
the winner was still obvioulsy mayweather
how does this happen
say up into bout 10rds the fight is even
you say to yourself hmmmm
this ones close
but what happens the last couple rds
one fighter seperates himself
thus becomin the clear cut winner
Castillo/Mayweather I was one of boxings examples of poor scoring. The second fight was evidently Mayweather's, but the first fight was definately Castillo's. He was the aggresor, landed the more significant punches, and I think even landed more punches throughout the fight. I dont really see how anyone could have given Mayweather more than 5 rounds.

I had pointed this out a while ago and Scappy agreed with me. First fight was a Castillo victory, close but definitive. Second was won by Mayweather but in no way was it a blow out like people were saying. Was it settled? Not in my eyes. It was close also but clear for Mayweather. I agreed with the judges the second time around.
Yeah, you know. I mean I have short patience for assholes. Why doesn't this kid just let me think what ever I want about the castillo/mayweather fight. If he doesn't disagree, why does he constantly keep attacking me like he has nothing better to do? It's my opinion for christ sakes and many others opinions including big named boxers like foreman and all of hbo announcers. It's like this, how can all the announcers including foreman be wrong?
I really think one of these users really might be Floyd Mayweather, that or his secret gay lover/stalker.
oh no, an internet thug!!! Just to clear things up, I didn't question your opinion on who won the fight. I just tried to let you know that fights are won by winning rounds, not landing punches which is CLEARLY what you posted earlier. So before you get yourself all upset and try to beat me up over the internet, perhaps you should go back and look at what you said and realize how stupid it sounded.
He did win the rounds, he landed more punches in the 8 rounds. Thats why I gave Castillo the fight. So, stop being a douchebag and trying to change what I wrote. Stop trying to debate me on something I'm telling you how I felt about the fight.
I'm taking YOUR words. Don't type dumb ass shit and you won't get called out for being wrong.
Poor scoring. The first fight was close, but Floyd edged it.
The second fight wasnt that close.
Finally a sensible post in relation to the thread.......
No, all I said in that thread is that Castillo landed more punches dipshit. I'm sorry to be mean to some of the users here, but they start alot of this bullshit up. Like saying things I know I didn't say. Or take anything I say and try to make it look like the complete opposite. I don't judge fighters by their skin tones, maybe some of you do. I judge them by their heart, and skill.
Well in another of your posts you said (and this is copied and pasted) "I thought fights are judged by who lands more shots". Now you're saying you judge fights by heart and skill which is still wrong. Fights are won by winning rounds which are worth points. If the fight goes to a decision, then whoever has the most points wins. Hope that clears things up for you.
I didn't say that dipshit, don't put words into my typing ***got
You didn't say that in the thread titled "If Floyd beats with style..?" I think perhaps your memory is bad.
maybe if I played the race-card, I'd have floyd winning the first castillo match-up... MAYBE, if I played it like that. Now, this is the part where people who said they had it for floyd say they aren't black... :owned:
haha. You can't be serious to bring race into this. The 1st fight had a lot of close rounds that the judges gave to PBF. In the 2nd fight the rounds were more decisive so it was easier to see Floyd won more rounds. I wouldn't expect much more from the guy who said fights are won by landing more punches though.
I had the first fight scored 114-112 Mayweather, the second fight 116-112 Mayweather.
Then you see what I mean......I just never noticed before and must have forgotten when I watched em.
