Wright beats Hopkins

Hopkins 160 when he faught at middleweight. He might be taller than most of the guys he faught but he weighed the same. I saw in his fight against John David Jackson he weighed 156. So other than being taller he was a middleweight in my opinion. Hopkins was the skinniest middleweight you may ever see. Obviously tt wasn't his natural weight, he had to force it. You have to remember that Hopkins was not a great talent like Oscar De La Hoya or Roy Jones. He was just an average athlete who, by the force will power, gradually built himself into a great boxer. That is why he made improvements over the course of his career, something you rarely see in boxers. As it happens his style works better on smaller opponents, so that is why he forced himself down to middleweight.

Vazquez won the rounds where he knocked down Wright....even if he wasn't getting the best of the action. It's a gay rule, but it's something you have to adhere to, especially in this case where Wright wasn't dominating those rounds and wasn't hurting Vazquez. If Wright had hurt Vazquez or was really busting him up outside of the KD's, I could see it your way. From what I remember that wasn't happening. Wright did well in the early going of the Vargas fight, but he put himself in a position to lose. It was kind of like the Sturm/DLH fight in that Wright (and Sturm) didn't close the show and the judges sided with the attraction. It just happened to Wright again (and in a MUCH more sickening case) when he lost to Taylor. All of the announcers were running their mouths about how Wright didn't close the show, but Wright should have won that fight. Hopkins is a middleweight, always has been. No light heavyweight would be able to make 157 comfortably (like Nard did against DLH)...especially that late into their career. He's tall, but he's doesn't have a large frame or big dimensions. Taylor is a damned LHW fighting at middle. I doubt he'll be able to make 160 much longer. I still can't see how you are saying Wright has done anything different than Hopkins....or how his career is nearly what Bernards is. i get your points, maybe i exaggerated a little by saying hopkins is a lhw, but he definatly has all physical advantages int the middleweight class...im just...angry with hopkins because even though i admire him, i think he stayed at middle for too long... as for wright, im only saying he has only fought trinidad and mosley who were smaller than him, the other good fighters he's fought are his size and now bigger(except for quartey) and the fact that thiis fight will be at 170 proves winky is willing to fight anyone. for me winkys record should be 55-0...but as i said, vargas has a case for a draw.....

Wright by clear desision.Probably 8 rounds to 4.Although there is a very good chance that Hopkins beats him as it is a 50/50 fight.But I've kind of made it a rule to never bet against Winky.I thought Tito would knock him out but instead he gave him a boxing lesson.Winky is one of the most skilled fighters in the world and Hopkins has to grow old sometime.I'm going with Wright UD.

come on.. the vazquez fight was very close because of the knockdowns... winky won all 8 rounds there wasnt a knockdown which leaves vasquez 112 maximum.... now those 5 knockdowns are 9 points for vazquez(because one round there were 2) so its 112-111 for vazquez, now are you telling me vazquez was winning all the knockdown rounds?????????????? no he was getting hit with 10 jabs before landing anything.... he only was winning the 12 round...(in which he scored 2 kd) in the other ones, he just landed one punch, are you telling me you wouldnt even give one of the other 3 rounds a draw becuase with only one, winky wouldve won...... my score card for that fight was 113-110 for wright as i gave him 2 draws... and honestly unless you think knockdowns automatically gives a fighter a round, think again, the rule says you have to give him an EXTRA point for the knockdown... i agree the vargas fight was very close, but i also think the best vargas could hope for was a draw...winky deserved that fight... and i said hopkins is a light heavy at middle... winky's face looks fat at 160... I'm confused. Do you think Hopkins is not a great fighter or do you think he is? It seems like you contradicted yourself here, maybe I'm misunderstanding you. i think he is a great fighter, but i dont think he shouldve stayed at middleweight for so long because he knew he was bigger than all those guys and because there wasnt talent that would challenge him, i think he could ve dominated 168 and 175 as long as rjj wasnt around, but instead he satyed at middle...., thats why i respect a lot what he did against tarver, he took a risk and imo its the biggest win of his career

Mosley was a lightweight. Trinidad was WAY past it. Quartey was on a comeback but was way past his best days too. Wright lost to those guys you mentioned...I suppose you could say he got the bad end of the Simon decision. He faded in the Vargas fight and clearly lost the Vazquez fight (he wasn't ready for that one anyway). I thought the Vargas fight was razor thin.... Wright does not have Taylor's size nor his firepower, but what he does have is a static defense which will allow Hopkins to work him on the inside. Wright's style is ready made for Hopkins. I can't see Hopkins losing this fight even if his skills have deteriorated.

Bernard Hopkins will win this fight. Better fighter inside and out than anyone Wright has faced...even in his old age. Winky will get tagged more than he ever has before. It'll be close, but I think Hopkins has the style to beat Wright. Should be an interesting bout though.

Winky will win quite easily imo Eevryone expects it to be slow and defensive. I think Winky is going to go straight at Hopkins and throw a lot of punches. I think he realizes all he has to do is outwork Hopkins like Taylor did.

Wright will probably win, but i will not count Hopkins out. He is a smart old man, and will fore sure be ready for Winky. Hopkins should fight Winky in close range and trade shot with him as often he can. No worry that Winky will stop Hopkins, because of that Hopkins need to take chances. It will come down to, can Hopkins sustain a high pace for 12 rounds still ?? If he can he will win. But judging on his latest fights it looks as he cant.
