WTF.....Roy Jones to fight Taylor in September!

well I'm guessing that this fight will happen at a contracted weight higher than 160. Blah. If they put this on PPV I wont order it unless the undercard is like, Peter-Tua, zab-mosley, AND Pacman-Freitas. Seriously, I think it would be a pitterpat fight at best. Or Jermain would just KTFO Roy. Way to keep on padding Taylors record with name fighters HBO. IMO Taylor still isn't HOF material.

Taylor ain't running from nobody. He needs to get away from DiBella. I hope he doesn't fight Roy, and fights the winner of Pavlik and Miranda. If Miranda beats Pavlik then he earns himself a shot not right now.

Roy wont have to stop Taylor from getting inside Taylor is not a pressure fighter. Taylor is dumb if he makes this fight its lose lose for him. I like Taylor I want him to fight Calzaghe or someone that would prove something, if he wins he beat a washed up RJJ if he loses he lost to a washed up RJJ. Same for Roy if he loses that proves he was a nobody from day one and if he wins he beat a middleweight big deal. I understand money talks but do people not care about their legacy anymore? Either way to me JT is the best middleweight right now and Roy is an all time great who is years past his prime.

Years back this could have been something. I'm willing to bet Jermain will pound Roy for 12 rounds, or knock his ass out. Roy doesn't have it anymore. He doesn't like to get hit. Jermain loves to engage. He might not have KOed Ouma but he landed big shots. Can Roy take those same shots? All those who think Roy is going to win how is Roy gonna stop Jermain from coming inside and hammering him? He can't box and move all night against someone who has speed too.

Sry, I've defended Taylor in several posts actually but hes not facing Winky Wright, Ouma, or Hopkins he facing a man that 3-4 years ago had been atop the p4p rankings for a decade 3-4 is dog years in boxing. When Taylor's physical attributes mature in a few more years he'll be more at home at super middleweight and maybe someday light heavy.

if taylor can hurt jones, then he can beat him: Jones can not keep his attack anymore because he does not have the speed to move out of harms way anymore. if jones can be careless and has stamina at whatever weight they'd be fighting at, he might very well win it note i would NOT pick the current version of jones against anyone with power at 168-175, but taylor KO ratio is nothing special at 160. also, if taylor does not push jones to the ropes and stays in the middle of the ring, that's like asking for losing rounds against jones.

Exactly, 3 or 4 years ago it would be different. But Taylor is just to much for Roy.

I keep seeing people say how JT is fighting someone who doesnt have a chance I see it the other way around. Roy is still much faster than JT and packs more power. If you watched his last two fights hes far from finished hes just scared (the 5th and 6th rd in the third Tarver fight). Jt wont smother him like Glenncoffe Jonhson and I dont think he packs the punch of Tarver to drop him with one shot, also not a southpaw. JT will try to box him in the center of the ring and will get destroyed Roy is still almost unbeatable in the middle of the ring. Sorry but Taylor killed Ouma. If you are trying to compare RJJ against Ouma, then RJJ will get destroyed just the same. You aren't getting the point. Nobody thought tiny ouma stood a chance. He was supposed to be an easy KO for taylor. But taylor couldn't put him away because he was fighting backwards just like he did against winky.

Jermain has many flaws, and Roy is big these days. Do not underestimate Roy if this fight takes place. i going with you too on this one. people think that Jermian Taylor is strong but he lets his gaurd down and he get swollen easily. his most effective weapon is clinching and punch he body over his oppent shoulder which makes his opponent more tired and exahusted in the fight

Roy is too big for Taylor who was pressured by Ouma. Roy defeated a heavyweight, sure it was Ruiz, but how many middleweights you see that can beat any heavyweight champ? Name one.
