Why do peple think this?. Shavers never knocked out anyone with a decent chin where as tyson knocked out guys with stellar chins like thomas, tubbs, botha, spinks, berbick and holmes.
shavers was almost certainly the hardest hitter ever to enter the ring his power was greater than foreman's lyle's or any other heavy i can think of
tyson was a more complete fighter with deadly accurate quick punchers and very scared opponents.
i would even say bruno hit harder than tyson
you would. but you would be wrong.

you talk as if you want you say is factual . Remember its just opinion that you think shavers punches harder than tyson . You have no actual facts to prove it . Relying on what a fighter say about another fighters power is not evidence .
Your hypocrisy is amazing. :wank: :wank:
tyson didnt have great power you are a moron. tysons sparring partners know all about his power . mo harris said he hit harder than lewis. timor ibragimov said nobody had tysons power other sparring partners have said he hit harder than lewis, tua bowe the whole lot . one guy said tyson hit him so hard with a body shot that it felt like tysons fist had being dislodged in his stomach . he couldnt spar for week and the pain was unbearable. Al these gus sparred with tyson late in his career when tyson had lost his speed. .

lol,,,of course there's no way of proving it but he totally backs his opinions up with good arguments unlike you. its pretty obvious that shavers hit harder. can it be proven? no,,,,but with testimony from other fighters and just watching the way they both delivered there punches and the impact shows that more likely than not,,shavers hit harder. your saying going by what other fighters say means nothing yet watching from the outside means more?? when a fighter who fought both says shavers hit harder and most if not all boxing experts think the same thing then the evidence is pretty strong. give it up already
This thread isn't worth the time we've invested in it. We almost universally recognize Shavers as a harder puncher than Tyson and we have many reasons for doing this. The diminished effect his punches had on opponents once he lost his defensive style that enabled him to throw sneaky, lightning fast counter-punches (granted he still hit hard after that point, but nothing like Shavers), the testimony of his opponents who usually had guys like Ruddock and Morrison hitting harder, and finally the fact that if he truly hit as hard as Shavers, while having the skills and quickness he possessed, he would have been actually killing guys.
At the end of the day, the consensus of opinion of boxing historians who devote their lives to the study of this sport holds Shavers in higher regards than Tyson in the field of power punching and I'll take their opinion over any argument anyone here has proposed on this thread so far.

Sanders dropped Rahman and got knocked out himself! Lewis didn't KO Rahman in the first fight because he got knocked out himself. Rahman took too many bombs from Sanders and was not knocked out the way he was against Lewis with 1 punch.
Vitali faced both Lewis and Sanders, the upper cut Lewis landed on Vitali hurt Vitali more then any punch he took from Sanders.
Sanders hit's hard but he does not hit as hard as Lewis!
the lewis uppercut didnt visibly wobble vitali badly at all and this was later in the fight when he was tired! the sanders left hand did visibly wobble vitali in the first round. lewis punches very hard without a doubt but I think sanders punches a bit harder and is more dangerous over the first 3 rounds as he sets traps and catches you coming in with that left hand. his 19 1st round knockouts are indicative of this. of course lewis dwarfs him in terms of everything else which is why he ended up as one of the greatest champs that ever lived

No one will ever punch like Tyson did....

everything i said is true .
LOL, I love it when people get desperate and then try to claim I hadn't seen certain fights. Apparently not ROFFLES!
I saw all of the Al Cole fights in question, he had nothing left in those fights. Al Cole, who was also a blown up cruiserweight. I know Al Cole in real life, do you?
You were trying to say that Sanders got Wladimir out early unlike Brewster and Purrity. And I said yeah, because Brewster and Purrity couldn't get inside on him until later in the fights. Is there something that I'm saying that you aren't understanding?
OK, allow me to break it down in simplistic terms. Any man who is 200 pounds+ and can punch with authority can get Wladimir out of there. He is not the Jake Lamotta you are envisioning him. He has a china chin, there I said it. This is openly acknowledged in the sport. If Castillo asserted any kind of authority in there, he would've had as equal an opportunity to score the KO as anyone else.
lol ,,,when did I say wlad had a great or even good chin?clearly his chin is average at best but the only guy to really flatten him was corrie sanders. he pretty much collapsed to exhaustion in his fights with purrity and brewster,,,he got tagged when he could no longer keep his hands up. he was clearly gassed. now did you not say castillo would have flattened him like sanders did had he been more aggressive? yes,,,,you did. if your not biased against wlad then I suggest you dont quit your day job kid
your not biased against wlad? lol,,,,,ok light hitting blown up cruiserweight in eliseo castillo who couldnt put a dent in a shot moorer could have flattened wlad like sanders did? right on. btw...al cole was the same fighter that rahman and witherspoon fought and your saying fatigue didnt play a major role in the purrity and brewster fights? did you even watch them? apparently not

I am clearly biased against Wladimir, which is very unlikely given that I had in a recent article declared him the best heavyweight in the world. But Beez said it, so it must be true.
Al Cole, who was ancient and punchy by the time he faced Sanders...
Brewster and Purrity didn't get a chance to hit Wladimir until late in the fight. No wonder they weren't able to get him out of there early. Frankly, not shocked at all.

I disagree. and sorry but eliseo castillo did not have strength of punch to put a dent in wlad. you clearly dont like wlad and are biased against him. I knew of sanders punching power well before he caught wlad when he destroyed durable al cole in one round who went the distance with witherspoon ,,rahman and kirk johnson. he's not half the fighter lewis is but he's a more dangerous puncher in the first 3 rounds. also no fighter has ever stopped wlad like sanders did. his losses to brewster and purrity were more fatigue than anything else. he wasnt flattened like he was by sanders

Sanders is overrated based on what he did with Wladimir. Honestly, if Eliseo Castillo had any fortitude he could've done the same.
Lennox Lewis KO'ed Mike Tyson, Rahman, and many others with wicked right hands and better arsenal. The difference between a complete fighter and a one hit wonder is the ability to switch up the attack. Lewis knew when to throw at a target, and when to throw through one.

The biggest puncher Danny Williams faced was Vitali, just given the physical parameters of the two. When a big man like Vitali puts his hands on you, you feel it.
Foreman couldn't KO Morrison because he couldn't get a clean shot. Morrison moved on him all night.
tyson was knocking sparring partners even in his late thirties . the fact that tyson couldnt knock out willams is no great shame . foreman couldnt knock out glass chinned morrison . does that mean he has no power .Willams may have stood up to tysons punches but willams himself admitted that tyson was by far the hardest puncher he faced and that the shots he took from tyson ended his career . if tyson didnt twist his knee he would of knocked out willams. in tysons exhibition fight with the stellar chinned corrie sanders tyson knocks him down in the first round with glancing shots and lands several shots that would of put him down but tyson held him up because he wanted the fight to go the 4 rounds so the fans could get their moneys worth. sanders has a much better chin than willams or mcbride he has faced big punchers and was only floored once in his professional career.
lol,,youre so full of it. corey sanders did not have a good chin! he was knocked out in 2 by micheal grant and flattened by davarrol williamson and quit making things up about what fighters said about tyson. they didnt say such things. go show us some links with these so called comments on tyson
wrong,,,,,,sanders dropped and hurt rahman when he landed clean which wasnt very often whereas lewis hit him often in the first fight and never dropped him. the 2nd fight he nailed him with a wicked right hand that landed flush with rahmans chin in the air as he was flinching from the left hand of lewis. sanders is a better knockout puncher than lewis but not half the overall fighter that lewis was in my opinion

you continue to make things up in every post. get over it already :bottle:
Rahman also said Toney hits harder then Holyfield, he was knocked out cold with one punch from Lewis, he took many bombs from Sanders, so there is no way in hell Sanders even comes close to Lewis.
