Baldy beat two 140 pounders and one of them was gatti i don't think we should be getting carried away... He was once starving for a paycheck he recieved some huge paychecks... He was once starving for respect he has got respect... Mayweather took his confidence.... now i see a stripped down Baldy and skillz wise it should look like Forrest>> Baldy... but we will see
My thoughts EXACTLY!!!

Forrest psychology of Mayorga KO is still in his mind that is why he is always pissed of and a lucky win over Ike.
so you guy judging Forest for a thing he did long long time ago. I going with Baldomir but there is big chance that forest win but Baldomir determination, will power and heart is going to shine in this fight.
i feel baldomir is still underrated, because people still feel he was lucky with judah, and gatti was shot. I like baldomir, hi diodn't have a built and protectet carreer he fought bravely around the world. And his 10 loss don't show his real talent. Sure he is not that great, but he can box, brawl, he only don't have that punching power and the footspeed. But he's got heart, chin, and some skillz. But i think the biggest problem for Baldomir will be Forrest reach
This is such a horrible fight. I'm hoping the Viper can turn back the clock a bit. I think Baldomir was just a guy who was in the right place at the right time. Judah beats him 9 times out of 10, and Gatti is not a good Welterweight. He's a crafty veteran, who knows the game inside and out. He has a granite chin, but he is not blessed with speed or power.
I'm picking Forrest by a close UD, something like 116-112. I think he has enough left to beat Baldy
this fight is very intriguing...both fighters are at a point where no one is really sure what they have left, if anything. someone will prove they are a decent fighter in this fight. if forrest is healthy he can box baldomir all night...if forrest is shot baldomir will TKO him in the middle rounds..its just an interesting fight
They say that a figer is only as good as his last fight, but I think Baldomir is better than that. Forrest, without saying, did terribly in his last fight as well, but I do not think he is better than that.
Baldomir's last victory, A KO over Arturo Gatti:
The Win before that, a beating of Zab Judah:
Baldomir's last loss
I think that Carlos' loss was a good, obviously clear, losing effort against Mayweather, and he never stopped trying. Before that he beat up Zab Judah, and destroyed Gatti.
Forrest's last four have been against a bum, an ill-deserved victory over Quartey, and two losses to Mayorga.
You may be right, Baldy is tough guy but he's not crazy like Mayorga, so I doubt he will intimidate Forrest!
Forrest is def the better boxer, still I have a feeling that Baldy might win this by UD.
baldi isn't a tough guy, he's more like the kind of guy that wears u down slowly over 12 rounds. i think he's got more left than forrest
I didn't compare Baldy to Mayorga, I know their different, I think Baldy is 10 times the better boxer, I also think Baldy chin is better then Mayorga.
The reason Mayorga had great sucsess against Forrest was that he intimidated Forrest, I think Baldy can also intimidate Forrest, I like both guys, so whoever wins I will be happy for them!
Gotcha. I get your point.
As far as the intimidation thing goes though Mayorga did a good job by bum-rushing Forrest. I believe that was what intimidated Vernon, he couldn't keep the guy off of him. That's not Baldomir though, he just follows you around. And for the taller Forrest, that's target practice.
Forrest is the better boxer but if Baldy intimidated Forrest the way Mayorga did, then I give Baldy a good chance winning this fight.
Mayorga and Tata are extremely different.
Ricardo was a free-swinging, hard charging wild man in the Welterweight division. Tata, while he does move foward at all times, is slow and plodding. Forrest will know what to expect from Baldomir unlike Mayorga. Against the welterweight Mayorga punches came from all angles, angles you would never expect.
i dont think forrest is as good as he used to be, baldi is still the same. i think baldi can do just enough to squeak out a decision. forrest may look great in spots but baldi will outwork him
Forrest EASY!
Baldomir doesn't have anything to bother Vernon.
Perfect fight for Vernon to take, a fighter with a name, an easy win.
Seriously, this isn't even close.
When I heard Shane was going to take the Baldomir fight I thought "for what?!" Shane needs to look for the biggest fights possible, Tata just isn't it. No threat whatsoever.
Exactly, i agree 100%. Vernon forrest knows that he has to fight someone that people know and baldomir is the perfect stepping stone fighter to take advantage of.
