can mayweather still have his hand-speed w/reyes gloves ??????
that's what i want to see come may 5th
pbf is going to feel the weight maybe after 6rds of 154lbs and reyes glove,
he says he does not care but it does make a difference,
hmm.. that'll be his excuse if he loses, lol? if he wins, then props.
that's what i figured lol, when a fighter suffers a loss there is always an exuse for this bout there should not be an exuse that goes for dlh as well,
this is prime mayweather i just wish he does not hurt his right hand which i doubt so that way he won't have an exuse for running for getting TKO and not be able to let his right hand go....
i don't think the brand name of the gloves makes a difference to one's handspeed. the difference between the gloves is how the padding is distributed throughout the glove (reyes, less padding on knuckles, more on wrists).
floyd has used reyes before.
by the way, i think this will be the first time he uses 10oz gloves (i think 10oz. is the weight required by pros above the welterweight division.)
10oz reyes is pretty heavy for a 5'8 guy coming from lower division,
we will see how this will affect both fighters,
not to metion pbf wearing reyes gloves, will he make through 12 rds without hurting his right hand ? that would be the question wearing the 10oz reyes gloves

Yes, Floyd will still have his hand speed.
The question is how his hands hold up under the Reyes gloves, with less padding, and how he handles DLH"s punches, coming from a "punchers" glove like Reyes.
The gloves IMO are going to play a huge role. It will not affect floyds hands speed but Floyd wont have those giant pillows he used against Zab Judah.
Floyd is going to get taxed and I hope he hurts his hands with the so called "punchers" glove.
I already know about the gloves. What I do not know is what size ring this will be. The bigger the ring, then the more chance Oscar will come and try to match speed with Floyd? Or just have to work hard at cutting off the ring?
The smaller the ring, then Oscar will try and trap Floyd on the ropes and corners? Floyd is very hard to hit on the ropes and in the corners. People have shot their loads with flurries and miss big time.
I guess we shall know soon enough.
Anyway..
The following article, I think is a good article on the subject of the glove.
great article, thanks
interesting

But the question is, is there that much of a difference between gloves made by 'Winning',
'Cleto-Reyes', 'Grant' and 'Everlast'?
"They make a physical difference; there's truth to that," says noted trainer and ESPN2 color commentator Teddy Atlas. “There are some gloves that have a seam that stands out and you're more prone to get cut with that kind of glove. And then there are gloves that are tighter and less cushiony and there's more of a chance of getting a cut because of that.
"Then some gloves are tighter, less structured and there's more chance at getting a hand injury because of that. So yeah, there's definitely a difference in the structure and the make-up of gloves."
Atlas points out that the impact a punch may have on an opponent is just one of the key components that separate one glove from other. The safety of the hands, distribution of impact and being prone to cause cuts are also key factors.
Atlas is on the Everlast board of directors and helped redesign the company’s gloves and other boxing apparatus. The company spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on researching material, getting the input of noted hand surgeon Dr. Charles Melone, and doing diagnostic tests on their equipment.
Their goal was to create a glove that took as much impact away from the hand and the recipient of the on-coming punch, within the brutal realms of the sport. It's a fine line between protecting the boxers and sanitizing the sport.
"I was comfortable putting my endorsement and my name behind that glove," says Atlas.
'Reyes' gloves have a long-standing reputation as being a 'puncher’s glove'.
"Oh, yeah," without question, says the great Sugar Ray Leonard. "It's the way the glove is designed; it favors the puncher. But it depends on how you look at it; it could also favor the boxer. I had very small hands so the 'Reyes' glove benefited me from that point of view. My speed was a plus, so I used them."
And Leonard says that he never really experienced any hand problems using that brand.
"No, I had hand problems as an amateur," he says."But because I was able to use more gauze (in the pros) it pretty much saved my career."

he says he does not care but it does make a difference,
the weight could affect him (which he won't be 154) but the gloves won't slow him down at all.
