i expect hoya to have a 10lb weight advantage...this will mean floyd will have to break him down, and not engage him early on.
If you are talking a combination of where would a fighter do his best and feel comfortable, I would say Floyd should be fighting at 140 still. Obviously he could make that weight easily but there are more challenges for him at 147.
DLH is hardly a natural 154 pounder himself, id say he is "naturally" 5-7 lbs bigger than floyd
DLH was in the 160's last month, Floyd MIGHT be over 150 after Thanksgiving dinner. There is definitely more than a 5-7 pd difference between the two.
I'm guessing Sugar Shane mosley is not comming to your mind eh...:tapedshut or are you talking about knocked out?? Everyone here should Know by Now Mayweather isnt goin to knockout Oscar...
I'm talking stoppages. My post was in response to this one:
he could still knock guys out at 140........he has to go to the body against de la hoya....Can stop him by 11
He won't stop De La Hoya. He couldn't stop Baldomir and he was hitting him at will, De La Hoya has been stopped once and that was at 160 lbs by a stray punch while he was holding his own against a much bigger man, I can't see Mayweather making a dent in him.
I also think that Mayweather's power at 140 lbs is easy to overrate because he scored TKOs over Gatti and Bruselles, but Gatti is not really regarded as a defensive genius (and his corner pulled him out, he was still begging for "one more round" and Bruselles had been stopped by a far weaker fighter than Mayweather, and faster.
Put it this way at 140 and up Mayweather's lack of concussive power is his biggest weakness. At 135 and down he was without weaknesses altogether.

he didnt HURT baldi either but he won every round...so whats your point????
The Point is He wants To sound Like He knows What hes talking about.. Floyd natural weight is Probably 135 he did his most damage at That Weight class.
Would put him as a big lightweight or decent size Junior Welter these days.
At Lightweight he could shove around the very big Philip Ndou, & he's shown power at JW, although been pretty careful of opponents.
Anything above that he has rely purely on speed, & choosing older, slower opponents.
For me, the naturall weight class for a fighter is the weightclass where the fighter doesnt have to drain himself and doesnt have to bulk up. I think Floyds naturall weight is 145 pounds, so he can chose between lightwelter and welterweight. But most fighters today doesnt fight at their natural weight, they drain themself and come in about 15 pounds heavier than in the weigh in such as Cotto and Miranda. Cotto moved up one weigh class but 147 is still not his naturall weight. I think his naturall weight is close to 160 pounds.
I just wanted to know how far he is from fighting at his best performance level.
So you're saying that he's really supposed to be fighting at 135, and that he is going to fight someone naturally 20 pounds bigger than he is.
yes, thats what im saying... PBF should go back down to 140lbs and stay there. going up to fight at 154lbs is juss too much for that little boy. its not like he's fighting Baldomir again, its Oscar....
juss remember this, he is getting his ass knocked out on May 5th with a Dela Hoya's signature left hook.

so you don't mean walk around weight.
he's rated as a welter. but he could go down to 140 easy enough.but why.

Pretty boy's natural and best fighting weight was 135lbs. He has no power at 147 and there is no way that he could hurt DLH at 154lbs.

Yeh ur a 100% right i think he lost his punching power after he moved up from 135
