1.Jake LaMotta - he lost to Sugar Ray Robinson 5 times. If he was so great, he should of at least won 3 of those fights.
2.Mike Tyson - his success doesn't measure up to his hype
3.Fernado Vargas - against the top fighters he failed to win.
Sosa was a terror back then. McCallum...Griffin...Hill...Paz were all nobodies too...lol.
Cats didnt wanna fight him or over priced themselves. Never ran from anyone. Michelchesky never replied to the last offer either so dont even think of it.
Yeah he never ducked DM it was the other way around.
Michaelsveski lobbied to fight Jones, flew to watch him fight Hill..........then immediately left and took a plane back home and never said a word.
He saw all he needed to see and would be content with not fighting him because he realized the same Hill he struggled with.......Roy easily dispatched in 4 rounds with little or no problems.
He was nowhere near Roy's level and he knew it.

Please explain to me how Robinson is the most over-rated fighter in boxing? He was around in an era where boxers didnt get over-rated or under-rated cos the promoting was different back then and more fighters fought the best. Robinson fought the best and beat them. Look at his record against LaMotta. In my opinion LaMotta is a legend and Robinson used to make him his bitch back in the day.
I know right. Dude had like 170+ wins and 120+ Ko's. When he turned pro he fought 3 weeks out of every month and only lost his early losses cuz he got lazy. Dude KTFO'd Fullmer w/a single left hook. Gahaha
Didnt do much but give Hoppy his 1st L and last guy to drop Toney. Beat everyone in his path.

those 2 plus a shitload of nobodies,
I rate Roy Jones Jr. most overated boxer, I wish I could say otherwise because I liked him but the guy didnt do much in his prime

The most overrated fighters were:
1) Muhammed Ali (not nearly as good as Joe Louis, Ali was beaten in his prime by Frazier and a journeyman, Ken Norton)
2) Jake La Motta (beaten how many times by Sugar Ray Robinson?)
Popularity is not the same thing as being the best in the ring.5 times.....
When RJJ started getting fights on TV Merchant would say "well RJJ isnt no SRL...haw haw." Ya....got that right....RJJ would KTFO'd SRL in the ams...easy. Then a few fights down the road Mercdhant was saying how RJJ reminded him of SRL. Come on guy...another martini?
all time great is abit hard to judge who is overrated because sometimes some fighter come in the wrong era or weighclass that is not there choose
but Floyd is one of the best in this decade after Roy Jones jr fell down
Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter probably gets my vote.
A very tough brawler who had a good win over Emile Griffith in his first foray up from Welterweight, but it's been totally blown out of proportion due to the media stuff.
The only reason he beat Griffith was because he suckered him into a brawl (Griffith's downfall in his losses was his temper), & he got schooled by just about every other really good boxer he faced.
Boxing was way different then, but Jack Dempsey may be a tad over rated by historians, considering he didn't defend his title for a spell of three years from 1923- 26 and then got beat by Tunney twice.
I think Jack was a big star of his day, Hollywood, first million dollar gate and all that, but he never met guys like Harry Wills either and had a number of losses and draws on his record, several to some guy named Willie Meehan.
I'm not knocking the guy too much, that was the sport in his day, only developing in the modern world, but I'm not sure he deserves to be rated so highly by the old timers.
Rocky Graziano. Great story - makes for wonderful reading but not elite, where he is often bracketed. Landed a big punch on Zale in fight 2 but was pulverised in the other 2 in quick fashion. When he faced Robinson he was schooled, badly.
Good figher with a very interesting story but not deserving of elite ranking.rocky graziano??? wtf?

I'm amazed you could type that shit while jerking off to your Tyson posters on your wall. Seriously, Tyson faster, maybe comparable, but not faster, and Tyson having a better chin, HA!!! Tell me who knocked out Ali? Ali survived a brutal right hand from the hardest puncher the heavyweights have ever seen in Ernie Shavers. Granted Ali doesn't remember any part of the fight after that moment, but that is impressive. Tyson was good and Ali was great, overrated Ali might be a bit, but not the most overrated of all-time.
I think that perhaps you need to turn down the brightness on your computer.
