I did some research (boxrec) to see how Oscar has competed against undefeated fighters because he is fighting one soon. Well Oscar has fought 8 fighters and lost 2 of those matches against Trinidad and Mosley. The Trinidad loss can be argued but so can the Sturm and Whitaker win. But was surprised me more is that Mayweather only has fought and defeated one undefeated fighter and it was Diego Corrales. Just stating some facts.......:boxing:
Does anyone know if a match with Tzsyu and Oscar was ever discussed?
Tszyu is one great fighter dela hoya purposely ducked, whitaker vs dela hoya was the bigger fight back then, and kostya even admit he wont be disappointed if oscar losses to sweet pea coz only the toughest will win.
hahaha, very interesting information from pbf supporters, and dlh supporters =P
but the truth is that all of that mean nothing at the time the fighters get on the ring.
i just cant wait for that fight, and whoever wins i just hope too see a great fight
Everyone always forgets that DLH fought some tough fighters in the early to mid 90's. AND beat them well.... That's why he sky rocketed to fame in the boxing world.
Rafael Ruelas
Jesse James Leija
Miguel Angel Gonzalez
Jorge Paez
plus many more.
Whitaker, Sturm and Quartey Arguably beat DLH.
the Whitaker fight was a close fight... the Sturm fight was bullshit... Quartey went down in the 12th, and that did him in...
PBF's first Castillo fight was a loss....
Floyd fans please stop being so foolish. You dont need kryptonite around your neck to beat this guy. Castillo arguably beat him the first time and he isn't half the fighter many of the previously mentioned undefeated greats were in the period that DLH fought them. Go back and watch some footage of these guys
yeah that is true, but a lot of those fighters were on outrageous win streaks. Genaro Hernandez hadn't lost at 130 when him and floyd fought. He was being considered one of the greatest 130 lber ever. Corrales was the only undefeated fighter though, but he was giving the business to everyone before Floyd fought him though. And I think Ndou had 1 lost and Baldomir was undefeated for a long time as well. manfredy had a crazy win streak too. Oscar has fought the better comp but the only thing is that Floyd would prolly still be undefeated if he fought the same comp as Delahoya....
really? you mean you don't give shane Mosley, Felix Trinidad, Ike Quartey and lets go ahead and count Whitaker too a slight chance of beating PBF? Dude you better think about that.
It won't matter when Floyd gives Oscar boxing lesson May 5th.

LOL, Classic picture
PBf hasnt faced and fought no one good he onli fights to make his money, thats why he picks money fights, if it was for this fight with this much at stake he owuldnt have ofught he would have retired already. oscar has all the experience and his a true fighter.
could'nt agree more......PBF would have a few losses had he fought thru what DLH had fought thru over years and there is no question about it.1st of all, what weight class was hopkins in when he fought dlh, 160 and he knocked dlh down, and out with a body punch, so th efact that oscar lost to nard, floyd would too? don't think so. if they fought at 147 or 154, imo it would have been a great fight, with no sure winner. floyd would literally kill mosley at 147 imo, because floyd is a much smarter fight than mosley is, and floyd would still beat him. vargas, at 154 would have a tough fight, but imo floyd would have outclassed vargas, and in impressive fashion, but still a tough fight nonetheless, because all you have to do to vargas is take him out of his element one time, and that's it, he's lost. ike would have been a good fight, but floyd is too fast for ike. ike's jab is always a threat to any fighter, but i'd see floyd hooking off of his jab all night, and possibly stopping ike, but ike is a good opponent for floyd. i would have love to see floyd fight pernell, because they are both slick, but floyd's style is compared to pernell's style a lot, but pernell's defense and dodging of punches were unorthodox, so i don't see their styles as too similar which would have made for a great showdown with no clear winner beforehand.
Overall I still pick Mayweather to win just because of the circumstances Oscar is facing.
1. He's inactive
2. Has too much on his plate with all of his promotions
3. He had to switch trainers and not only that, but seems like his old trainer is on PBF side which could damage his whole game plan
4. He's older and slower than PBF.
Floyd has fought 4 very good fighters, with genaro hernandez being the best. However, he has yet to fight a true "elite". I hope he doesnt lose and fold just like nasem hamed did.
Oscar has fought 5 very good fighters and he has defeated 2 elites. However, those two elites were old and past it when he beat them.
WHAT!! Did you see that collazo fight? Mosley wasn't all that nice in the fight, but it was better than his Vargas fight. Mosley at 135 could have given Floyd a run for his $$$, but not at 147. The guy struggled with Estrada for christ sakes. Estrada was game though, but Mosley struggled still and didn't he struggle with Gomez too?
HE KTFO of Gomez
Both PBF and DLH are great fighters, resume and experience has to go to DLH, youth and activity to PBF. Lets get serious thou, Oscar hasn't been an active fighter in a few years now, PBF has never fought at 154 and besides he's a lightweight, Jr WW at the most. DLH is gonna beat up a smaller fighter who hasn't won impressively in over 3 years? If PBF ever pulls a win fair and square over DLH, no doubt he should be considered one of the best fighters of our era, but until then he's just a great fighter who's about to pull out of the sport without ever reaching the stardom he thinks he has.
Shane was great back in the lower weights. Shane that fought Oscar the first time would of beaten Floyd, in my opinion.
I would heavily favor Oscar and Shane over Cotto and Hatton as well.QUOTE]
I agree with that part. It's a shame that these new guys who supposedly can't take out the older fighters. It kinda makes you wonder about boxing now, are these new guys just mediocre or are these old guys just that good.
i'm not sure pbf can beat mosely now, much less back when shane was undefeated...
