i just rewatched that fight recently . the first punch that floored seldon didnt even land cleanly . tyson threw a right hand and it went over seldons head and tyson caught him with his wrist . how can being hit by somebodys wrist cause you to be knocked down?.
seldon won by first round KO last night
i rewatched the fight last night . the first punch that knocked seldon actually did land . you can hear the thud when tyson lands on seldon . it was a clean shot . sometimes a shot which looks like nothing or a glancing blow can knock a fighter . look at the liston ali fight . a lot of people think liston took a dive because the punch looked like nothing and couldnt of possibly knocked a fighter like liston but new and advanced film footage have shown that liston actually got hit with a flush shot right on the chin.
I might be wrong here , but wasn't Tyson AND Seldon under promotional contract with King at the time ? If so , would it really be out of the question for King to offer Seldon a couple hundred G's for Seldon to throw the fight to insure Kings cash machine kept rolling ? Notice how Sedon got " knocked down " into the perfect push-up position . just a thought
Amsterdams Finest no less! Drank a foolish amount of booze ate a Kebab danced poorly, the usual!
Stayed in with the missus last nite watching dvds and ive been on here ALL day 2day, just chillin!
Fully.
Like you said a little while back - Seldon was scared beyond belief.
That explains everything anyone needs to know - you are a veteran soldier so I know you appreciate and understand actual combat, #1.
Cheers! :beerchug:
Cheers Player :beerchug:
Gid weekend mate?
I would've done the same shit if I were Seldon. I'll be damned if I'm gonna take a Mike Tyson bomb to the dome. I'd like to be able to speak without stuttering in the future.
LOL! Yeah that i could beleive to be a fix!

Well said #1.
Like I mentioned in that earlier thread;
If seldon did that to Tyson I would have believed there was a fix.

What Seldon says has lil effect on the reality of things, IF he had threw the fight, he wasnt gonna admit it was he?
That said i dont think it was a fix at all but Perhaps he did act more hurt than he was (So the ref would stop it) due to fear of getting Really hurt by a Tyson bomb! I beleive Carl Williams did this also

the fight wasent fixed . you have to remember seldon didnt have the best chin . he was knocked down by tony i couldnt crack an egg tubbs. seldon also said after the fight "i didnt train for 12 weeks just to take a dive". he also said that tyson hit a lot harder and faster than he ever thought he could. tyson has seldon roced before that glancing blow put him to the floor . it was an accumulative effect.

This was talked about recently.
That thread implied the fight was fixed..

Because Seldon was in complete and utter fear of Tyson and his punch. He simply shit his shorts and dropped out of sheer fear.
