Lewis didnt have a bad chin, down just twice in his career, its not like they were the only shots he ever took! Even in the first Rahman fight he took that right hand several times before the ko shot. One of them landing 30 seconds before the ko, im sure that shot did hurt him and led to him dropping his hands. These punches in this video should of put him down at least if he was that weak chinned, remember people talk today about tua, briggs, klitschko being the hardest hitters out there!

How can he of been knocked down from a single punch by Rahman if he was hurt by a righthand just before the ko punch, that punch left him open to be driven back onto the ropes with a series of straight lefts with his hands at his waist, even Rahman will tell you this..
He proved he could take Rahmans right hand throughout the fight, the accumulation however is what did him, he stood up to a big flush right hand 30 seconds earlier, thats what got him dropping his hands and smiling allowing Rahman to get him on the ropes for the ko, check this out,
Evidenced by this video it was the accumulation of rights that got him, the right hand at the end of this clip was 30 seconds before the ko, i think he was definatley hurt, taking another while hurt is what stopped him, it was no way a one punch ko in the true sense of the phrase!
OK OK!!! YOU HAVE MADE YOU POINT!!!!!
I disagree tho.
Im gonna start a poll.
I wouldnt say Lewis had the chin of lets say,,,frank bruno on a cold sunday morning but there was always that factor before a big fight that Lewis
could get clocked and taken out of there....
I wouldnt say it was bad i would just say it wasnt has good has guys like
Mercer,Holyfield,tyson etc..
He took flush shots from big punches like Vitali and Mercer and he held up well enough not to be called Glassy...
Lewis had a decent chin for a heavyweight, he took some huge shots from VK, Briggs, Tua etc and stayed on his feet, the Rahman and McCall shots were just well delivered heavyweight shots and would have stopped most heavy's.
You do not reign for as long as Lewis did with a weak chin!
i knew their must be some, just didnt think there were many.
i think vitali would of got koed anyway against lewis
Nah Lewis was dead at the end of 6, no way he could have taken Big Klit out other than on cuts. But that doesn't matter. Vitali has bigger flaws than Lewis (although Vitali's chin is a 9.5 to Lewis's 6.5 - 7) .
If you count Vitali, who has a forfeit and a medical stoppage, both officially TKOs.i knew their must be some, just didnt think there were many.

most heavyweights do slur at the end. the price to pay
so is there any other heavyweight who won a genuine world title and hasnt been
koed in the last 10-15 yrs ?

OK but some of those shots are poorly chosen for the purpose of this video. For instance, the Tua hooks that start the video were not clean hits.
Lennox had a vulnerable chin, but clearly not glass. POint taken.
Is an approachable guy that likes talking with fans or is he a grumpy ass? I wouldn't try hitting either, quick shin kick maybe.
Just kidding.
Never met Lewis "The Bell end" Lewis but Ive met a few boxers, Eamon Magee was 1 who i saw but didnt approach he looked mean as shit, real pissed off so i thought Fuck that!
He couldn't take any shots off me. You know why? Because I've met him and I'd never even attempt to hit that big bastard!

GLASS. He's one of the most lucky fighters in history, he was so untalented by earned so much more money than most talented fighters, just because he was a Heavyweight. Beating a spent Tyson is no claim to greatnees. Maybe if they had of fought in 88 it would have been a different story.
I hate and mean hate Lewis, but to say Lewis is untalented means 1 of 2 things:
You've either never seen him fight.
You're either fully or partially retarded.
Up until this current point in boxing time, he is the best "super-heavyweight" to ever lace them up.

Im guessing youre a big tyson fan,,lol :bottle:

Would the lewis that fought mercer in 96 of beaten the tyson that fought holyfield?
It would of been a good fight, lewis was in court at the time before the mercer fight to try and secure a tyson fight.
lewis would have looked as scary tyson if he had fought the fighters in his prime tyson fought
i dont know if i could say the same for tyson
good point, most of the guys tyson demolished where made for him, fat,
tall, weak chinned, weak minded or a combination of the 4. lewis would of
also mademincemeat out of them IMO, i still think tyson would of done well
against lewis's opposition tho
Lewis could take a flush Rahman right hand

Lewis had a decent chin IMO.If he didn't,I don't think that he would have been able to take shots from guys like Mercer,Tua,Tyson,Morrison,Briggs, etc his whole career.
I dont agree.
By definition it was a one punch KO.
The punches that landed before did not seem to hurt him. Lewis showed no signs that he was hurt.
When a fighter is hurt he covers up. Lewis was being arrogant, and showing that he wasnt hurt.
i agree, i remember against shannon briggs he got stunned by a shot behind the
head, then later in the fight briggs threw a combo of big shots which lewis just
took, grinned evilly then slammed home his own monster shots, putting briggs
down.
hes got a good chin for a heavy.
i think alot of the grief lewis is getting is because he dominated the top division
which is normally an alll american affair, bein british canadian was his downfall
