I had the pleasure to see a Juan Manuel Marquez fight back in 2003 in Worley, Idaho, and let me tell you, this guy can beat anyone he steps in the ring with. I had a golden ringside seat I bought for only $50 and got to witness one of the most awesome knockouts I've ever seen. Anyway, I'm equally as excited to see Marquez vs. Barrera as I am Floyd vs. Oscar. I just wanted to let everyone know ahead of time that after Marquez knocks Barrera's block off, he's going to straight up decapitate that little Pacman.
I said ignored not ducked-he was ignored by Morales and Barerra, do you dispute this?
What set backs are you referring to? After he lost a close fight with Norwood he was undefeated for at least 5 years, your right MAB and Morales were off busy fighting each other but that was financial-and so was not fighting JMM far to big a risk for far too little reward.
Finally in the twighlight things have changed, good for JMM he can no longer be ignored!
You forget that Morales and Barrera were at a lower weight class then Marquez. It wasn't till later that they moved up in weight. And at that time, more popular contenders were around, I don't remember ever Marquez calling them out, maybe im wrong. But Barrera and Morales in the past that i remember have never been called out on ignoring Marquez.
Setbacks being the Norwood fight, the Hamed fight that didn't go through and people again forgot about Marquez, losing the title, free agent, losing to Chris John, the draw with pacquiao -not fighting pacquioa. All while Barrea and Marquez were handling busniess and taking on anybody, they didn't have time to think about a fighter that was out doing his thing on the smaller stage. I like Marquez, i've followed him but to say he was ignored, no way, at least not by Barrera and Morales. Hamed theres a lot of rumors, depnding on who you talk too there two stories about the Hamed fight and samething with the pacquioa rematch.
Barrera would lose to pac again, marquez would indeed beat pac though, he should have won thier last fight.
I disagree. I don't think JMM can beat pac the second time around from getting a FAIR draw in their first encounter. Pac has improved and is hitting his stride. JMM better come prepared for a 2nd tussle. At this point in his career, I don't know if it is in him to get to another level which is going to be required of him if he steps in there with Pac for a rematch. I can see it if he was a little younger but at this stage it is hard to step it up a notch. Pac aint going to see anything new from JMM but JMM is facing a Pac with a new twist. Should be good though. I'd rather see that then Barrera vs. Pac. The fighter I really wanna see pac againts is Guzman though.
I think JMM would tax the shit out of Barrera. I think Barrera is not the same fighter he once was. I always thought Marquez was the best out of Barrera and Morales. Nevertheless, I would not miss this fight for anything. I would love to see Marquez get some recognition. I see all the shit being talked about JMM but secretly I am a big fan of his. People don't realize how skilled that cat really is.
And both time people thought he was robbed. Marquez is a differnt fighter now then when he fougth those guys.
Neither ducked him. They have always been doing there thing and Marquez his. Marquez has had a few setbacks in his career.

Yeah he beat Norwood and fought Cris John with total aggressiveness so he can take back his belt. :ugh: :D
Marco is a great fighter and will prevail against Marquez.

Certainly a fighter who is deserving, JMM was ignored for years by the two other Mexican killers-Ill be rooting for JMM and I give him the slight advantage.

You havent been paying attention.
You based your theory on 1 fight with a boxer I have never even heard of.
Not only that but you have probably never seen JMM vs Pac.
Pac knocked him down 3 times in round 1. And believe me Pac is way better now than he was back then.
I love Pac. He's a great fighter, great heart, great power and he is improving all the time. And yeah, he did knock JMM down 3 times in round one, which was incredible. But he was then steadily outboxed from round 3 onwards, which EVERYONE on this forum is either in denial about or has conveniantly forgotten. I think Marquez will beat Barrera, and then hopefully Pac and JMM can rematch. I would slightly pick Pac to win, because as you rightly point out, he has improved since then, but I wouldnt be surprised in Marquez outboxes him again.
