...In fact, he nearly made him shit himself.
Sean Newman: Hi, Ray, how are you doing?
Ray Mercer: I’m doing great, thanks.
SN: Do you know exactly why Hasim Rahman pulled out of your scheduled fight with him on February 22?
RM: I really don’t know, personally. I heard he claimed he was injured, and I hear he never signed the contract in the first place. It’s just boxing, man.
SN: Is the whole thing a total wash for you, or is a replacement opponent being sought?
RM: We’re ready to fight, we’re just going to put it out there, “hey, just call on Ray Mercer.”
SN: Joe Mesi is still supposed to fight on that card. Do you think there is any chance his people would be willing to take a fight with you at this stage, and how would you feel about that fight?
RM: I’ve been chasing that dude and there’s been word for a couple of years now of me fighting Joe Mesi. They were talking about it at one time, but I think he punked out. I don’t think they want to fight a guy like Ray Mercer. They’re looking for easy fights.
SN: It has been rumored that Tommy Morrison wants to fight on that card, provided he can get licensed. Would you be willing to fight him in a rematch down the road?
RM: Ahhh! (Laughs) Of course. Without a doubt I’d fight him.
SN: Speaking of Morrison, you are perhaps best known for your brutal knockout of him in 1991. Did you know he was out after a few punches, or were you just punching with the intention of keeping him down?
RM: The guy was hitting me so hard, I figured when I got him hurt, I was going to make sure he was hurt. I didn’t want him to hit me again so I just kept punching.
SN: Were you concerned at all afterward that he might be seriously hurt?
RM: I was glad he was okay, he was boxing on his stool like the fight was still going on. I got worried about him a little right then. It’s boxing.
SN: Let’s back up. What brought you to the United States Army?
RM: My father did 20 years and we traveled to Europe and different places, and I figured getting into the military was a good opportunity for me to see the world.
SN: You were always known for having a rock solid chin. Who hit you the hardest in your professional career?
RM: Tommy Morrison. Morrison hit me so hard to the body with those hooks that I was actually farting in the ring. (Laughs) You have to act like…you can’t let the guy see that you’re hurt, but I’m pretty sure he heard and smelled a couple of things. (Laughs) But he hit me harder than I was ever hit in boxing.

I think Morrison would last a round. Tyson would let him last a round to see what the kid from Rocky had. He'd go for the finish in the second if he coud manage it.
Spot the contradiction in your own post, & I will cut you a break.

It looked to me like Morrison, shot for shot, hit harder than Mike Tyson did...
But, he was not a better puncher than Mike Tyson, & certainly no where
near as good a fighter.
Tyson would have KO'd him within two rds.
Morrison was a massive, massive puncher....with both hands, & he put his shots together very well. But, he was vulnerable to big shots, & was way too tense- which resulted in him being poor in his ability to take punches or not get fatigued.
dsuwe to morrisons stylwe ansd xchin i sdon't wevwen swewe him lasting through 1 round!!

You know something...we will never know for sure if Morrison hit harder or Tyson hit harder. Tyson was better and faster and was more likely out of the 2 to land his punches and had better combinations IMO and better at avoiding getting hit. Tyson was tougher and more menacing and that worked to his advantage.
Tyson will be remembered as the better boxer of the 2. Tyson isnt remembered for hitting harder than Morrison....that is not what he was about. But it wouldnt suprise me if Tyson did hit harder. If anyone can understand that.
I remember thinking if only Morrison wasnt HIV positive he might have done better against Lewis.
I think Lennox Lewis would have beaten Tommy Morrison at anytime. Also, although i doubt that Morrison hit harder than Tyson, i don't doubt that Morrison was a hard puncher, but regardless of that, Mike Tyson is the better fighter, with the better record, and he has knocked out a better level of fighter on his record IMO.
I wonder if Morrison landed any decent punches on Lennox Lewiss chin. Lennox is suppodely a weak jaw so if Morrison was a murderous puncher wouldnt Lennox have done a Berbick against Tyson type dance against Morrison?
I wonder if Morrison fought Tyosn, would Tyson be thinking to himself, "man this dude hits heavier than me, and im supposed to be the hardest hitter"
naaa,,,he only landed really one solid punch on lewis and it was a right hand in the first round that caught lewis flush and had him holding on for a moment. lewis fought a great fight that night and used his height and reach keeping morrsion at a distance. morrison just couldnt get close enough to lewis to do any damage
Morrison might well have hit harder than Mike Tyson. But why the hell didnt Mercer get knocked out by him then? And Mercer never fought Mike Tyson. But his punches probably lost power as the fight went on and he tired.
But Tyson was faster than Morrison so you might not have seen Tysons punches land etc.

he has taken some pretty good punches to the jaw as long as he sees them coming that said, i don't think it could staNC Up to morrisons left hook

Ray Mercer is a raging homosexual who can't stop lying, don't listen to a word he says.
do you have something agianst homo's? do you want to talk about it? LOL
Morrison hit as hard as he was portrayed in Rocky5. Fucking awesome.
You really have to watch some more of his fights to understand this.
The problem was, he fought a lot of Warriors who could take a lot. Mercer, Ruddock, so watching those pieces doesn't do good to Morrison's power.
i thought mercer would say LEnox lewis hit harder. If only Morrison could box, was elusive, had a decent chin and stamina, he could have been something special.
or if he simply fought everyone the way he fought foreman. he would have cauysed lewis alot more trouble and perhaps beaten mercer
