I am not a big Cotto fan but out off all fights this is the one I would want to see because of the body punching.Hattton is way over rated cotto even with a weak chin(it's not like haton don't have one) He just don't like it to body. body for body you tell me who is better.
Hatton is a decent pressure fighter who used to be touted as a great body puncher but to be honest he hasn't been as effective with single, one punch body shots in quite a long time (pretty much since he stopped fighting dummies and started on the semi-dummies lol)
Cotto is devastating with the body blows and I cant waut to see how he fairs once he's settled into 147lbs.
Listen, Im a fan of Hatton, and he throws a beautiful body shot. The way he uses leverage behind his shot is remarkable and should be taught to every young fighter. However, when it comes to pure destructive force, Ill take Cotto over anyone in the game right now.
That's a concussive punch, but nothing like the violent velocity Hatton delivered right from the soles of his feet and followed right the way through - and Hatton would lift guys off their feet and flying into the ropes, and have them rolling around in agony.
lifting guys aint shit if u cant ko them with 1 hit. hatton goes around hitting ppl with those weak punched shots and they may tire but they dont go down
I beg to differ.

Well if Cotto could, so could Hatton, because there's no way anybody below light-heavies hit more powerfully to the body than Hatton - his leverages were second to none. I've not seen Cotto hit as powerfully to the body as Hatton, I've seen him hit concussively to the body, but I've not seen him able to open an opponent up and land as explosively as the Hitman.

cotto could ko '86 tyson with a single left hook to the body.

Due to his hip problems, Hatton hasn't been able to step off to the side and set his feet properly to load up the hook to the body since the Stewart fight (and before then he hadn't been able to for some time).
I hope he's able to sort this hip problem out, then you'll see who's the real king of the body shots.
Remember Hatton was considered the best body puncher in the world before Miguel even turned pro.
Not a huge fan or sold on him yet..but i know Cotto body punching is way better the Hatton. Hatton need to work on it,but he has the better stamina i believe (or it seemed lik before, atleast). Isnt like Cotto better then Hatton overall from what we have seen lately,of course except in the chin department. They both get f-ed up by body shots though.
Hatton is certainly the more powerful body puncher and the most famous for his body punching, has more KO's with one single shot (left hook to body) than probably any fighter ever. And if he hit anybody with that shot in one of the right spots, no human being would stand up to that (no human being has yet) - you could even HEAR the velocity through Hatton's vocal fans.
I don't put Miguel in that bracket, although he does have some good methodical, solid hooks to the sides.
COtto hits harder to the body, Hatton hits more consistently. So Cotto has the best body punch, and edges this at the moment, but Hatton's body-punching really shouldn't be underestimated.
Hatton has numerous brutal body-shot KOs to his name so shouldn't be overlooked but at thi second I give the edge the COtto.
