Looks like this fight is becoming a reality. This is the fight I like best for Edison. I think he will win big and it should buy him a shot against Taylor.
According to a recent report in the Las Vegas Review Journal, two of the hardest punching middleweights could possibly meet in the next few months. details]
Im judging it from what ive seen, and the Mckart fight was a flash knockdown, the Zuniga fight was a knockdown,Zuniga had 16 KOS in 18 fights,it was a war and Pavlik got up to KO him
Yes, he did fine in those fights. But these guys are not at the upper level and don't provide much pressure or hit that hard.
I am not saying Pavlik can't hang at the next level, he just hasnt been there yet. And from what I have seen at the level he has been fighting at, he will have trouble.
This Saturday should be a small test. Zerthuche is no push over. He is one of the better fighters Pavlik has faced. If Pavlik wants to make a statement, he should destroy this guy in less than 3 rounds.
He was floored by Zuniga and McKart. Miranda will destroy him.
Yeah Pavlik can fight but I drew the line a while a go. He's not going to go the distance, in fact that has highlight reel written all over it.

I haven't been too impressed with Pavlik so far. He's an exciting fighter, who's gotten the job done so far.But I don't give him much of a chance against Miranda.Pavlik's a little to awkward and off balance.I see Miranda stopping him.
How can you judge Pavlik when he hasn't even fought a top 15 guy?
He was floored by Zuniga and McKart. Miranda will destroy him.
I only pray that Arum has the balls to let this fight happen!!!!

Yeah, it's clear that HBO has fallen in love with Miranda.
With Margarito out, I guess Arum has nothing left to offer for the March 3 co-feature, and Showtime has the awesome Vasquez-Marquez fight going on that night, so HBO needs a strong undercard fight badly.
I understand why Arum wouldn't want to let this happen on his show--neither guy is his fighter and since it's his card he would want to showcase one of his guys in that spot. But my question is, who could that be? Arum is so adept at getting his young guys on TV that he has spread himself thin, and I can't think of anything good he could put under Cotto-Urkal.
It's a World Championship Boxing card, not BAD, so don't expect HBO to approve any fight involving JCC Jr. or other prospects.
Looking at the Top Rank roster, I can only find two possibilites that haven't just fought and aren't currently scheduled.
(1) Martin Castillo. Coming off his stoppage loss in Japan last year, Castillo could have a comeback fight, but HBO may not be interested in a comeback fight as the co-feature, which leads me to...
(2) Joshua Clottey. Obviously this depends on his hand. It may be far too soon to come back (I can't recall the diagnosis), but an intriguing option would be to get an IBF welterweight title fight between Kermit Cintron and Clottey as the co-feature. Now that would make for a solid card, two welterweight title fights and Cintron, like Cotto, is from Puerto Rico. What a great atmosphere that would be.
Maybe Cotto-Cintron on June 9 is a better option than Cotto-Margarito if Antonio's injury will keep him from being 100% for that date.
If Arum can't get something to work that HBO likes, he may have no choice than to let two great young fighters belonging to different promoters go at it on his undercard. HBO would probably promise him more dates in return for allowing it...

I give this one 2 Pavlik,he has more in his arsenel then Miranda, throws left hooks right hooks huge upercuts,a nice jab,Miranda has that straight right hand thats dangerous, but i aint really seen any other GREAT punch, his gota nice left hook to the body, but the jab isnt all that,i think Miranda could beat alot of guys at middleweight, but for some reason i dont think he can beat Pavlik

I warn Pavilik not to take Zutuche lightly, if he does, he's going to get his first loss.
definitely.
Cant wait man, Ill be ringside at this fight, followed by Jorge Arce.
And you know VANES is gonna get his 12th victory on the undercard.
I think Pavlik is an easier fight for Miranda than Allan Green. I just don't give Pavlik much credit for what he has done and see him getting floored easily. I hope the fight does happen!
what??? Pavlik has a knockout victory over contender champion Grady Brewer on his resume!!!!
i dont think you can make much distinction between records or quality of opposition tween pavlik and mirana, both have rather unimpressive number of quality wins
Why all the hate man...Must be hard for you to see Miranda getting all this attention from HBO.
:nonono:
I feel bad for lil Googer. While his Armenian bro sits around trying to heal a broken jaw, Miranda is getting all the hype and fans. HBO is making him the star he deserves to be. Sorry Googer... maybe someday he can return to the ring and defend that bogus belt he owns! :)
thats for sure, nothing much would surprise me here, this thing could end in a first round KO either way, or they could go 12 rounds beating the living crap out of each other and leave us beggin for more..
i just hope it comes off, these are the kind of matchups that need to me made more often...
it also occurs to me considering their ages (pavlik24) miranda (26) that this may be the first of a series of fights between the two, def has potential to evolve into a career long rivalry....
throw in taylor, mora, abraham and duddy.... there is a lot of young talent and good fights to be made at middle.. and super middle down the road since prob taylor, miranda, pavlik will all end up moving up in weight eventually....
There are a lot of good middleweights out there. Hopefully someday Abraham will be able to fight again and be the same. Seems unlikely though.

Anything is possible with Miranda though. He is very heavy-handed throughout.

Hey cocksucker. Stop bullshitting and telling lies in order to promote Miranda. Abraham is in no condition to fight Miranda? STFU!!
Also in attendance was the IBF Middleweight Champion, Arthur Abraham. “I am in good shape right now, preparing for my return in April this year. I am ready to fight Miranda again or an other fighter that will be put in front of me,’” he commented. When asked about the main event, he noted: “I don’t think that this will pass the sixth round, and Valuev will win impressively via a knockout.”
Read that and get it through ur head that Abraham is preparing to fight in April. Miranda doesnt want to fight him anymore because he knows he doesnt have a chance. If he couldnt stop a boxer who had a broken jaw for 8 rounds, what is he going to do this time?
Man u gotta stop sucking Mirandas DICK!
it is obvious to all that edison miranda has some real deal power but i just dont see what has everyone so excited about him..... when i saw the eastman fight i though to myself
"good tough kid, has the intangibles, needs quite a bit of polishing before a title fight, chin seems to be there to hit and somewhat questionable to boot"
i was not the least bit impressed by his voctory over willie gibbs, who is and has been a shot fighter since suffering a disturbing knockout loss to daniel eduard on FNF... if you had seen that fight and the god-awful way that gibbs legs responded when he was hit youd have def thought to yourself "time for this guy to retire" getting KO'ed by Miranda was just a little nest egg for him as obviously he wasnt fit to fight....
pavlik, 24 years old, is younger and more polished of the two fighters... and the guy that impresses me more of the two... if miranda couldnt get rid of arthur abraham with a broken jaw i dont think he will get rid of kelly pavlik... and unlike abraham and gibbs, pavlik is going to fight back... without a knockout miranda cannot win this fight.
very excited to see this fight being made though, two of the younger and more exciting fighters in the game today, def an action matchup which i expect the american kelly pavlik to win by a mid-round KO... securing himself a nice little HBO package.....
just curious, does anyone know if pavlik intends to remain at middle for the long haul??? it cant be easy making 160 for a guy that is approaching 6'3.
I was wondering this myself. Pavlik definitely looks like he should be up at 168...but then again so does Miranda.
Good take on the fight. I think it could go either way, but Pavlik seems to have a lot more to rely on in his arsenal. If Miranda doesn't hurt him badly at some point I can't see him winning. Anything is possible with Miranda though. He is very heavy-handed throughout.

the only question is, what will that extra 8 pounds of weight loss by dehydration do to his chin... pantera, the more i think about it, green should not take this fight
Green really really wants the fight. I think it is his shot to get on HBO... Will it be worth the risk??? I THINK NOT!
N look what happens 2 Miranda when hes hurt
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Qkp9iGx5BD8
LOL i like Miranda but shit,if ur gna show 1 side of the story, atleast show the other, like Miranda aint been hurt before
Anyway..i think Miranda will beat Green,i dont no if he could beat Pavlik
I would say there is a big difference in the two. But anyway, ain't it gonna make for a great fight!
Look what happens to Green when he gets hurt.
With Miranda's power, Green will be out cold!
