I was dissapointed at Castillo either hes shot or doesnt belong on 140
hes was very slow his punches weren't sharp and powerless I thought
he looked kinda soft. Do you guys thing its because the long layoff?
Castillo was coming off inactivity for 11-months and you could see he was rusty. He did start to get better as the fight wore on. Also, I too do not think that he took Herman seriously.
Um, shot? No. Shot is when you are like Vargas. Shot is when you are like Tyson. Castillo is not shot. He just went 12 rounds and beat a 6 years younger fighter who was undefeated and obviously underrated.
Now if you asked if Castillo is showing signs of aging, then the answer is more likely a yes.
Either way, coming off an 11 month layoff this is a good performance. It was a good fight and Castillo traditionally fights tough fights. It's his style.
i believe he is past it........slow in movement and had no snap in his punch.........if he fights hatton, it'll only be for the payday...hatton by easy UD
He moved up a weight class againts a big oppenent. Wait till he gets knocked out to pull the shot card at least.

Ngojou is as solid a guy I've seen on the inside with that few fights. I thought for sure he was going to get taken into deep water, but he's in great physical condition and he'll be tough for anyone to fight at 140.
The only way to beat him is to outbox him on foot. He hit JLC with some really good, crisp right hands on the inside that would have hurt other guys. Only JLC could walk through that kind of stuff.
Ngojou is a bull after watching this outing.

I think he just underestimated the guy and thought it would be an easy night for him. I sure he will come in great shape when he faces hatton b/c that's what he seemed to be focused on.
No, he's not shot.
Ngojou is a good fighter after what I saw. Plain and simple.

I also think its bullshit that he didnt take the guy seriously because even when he did "pick it up" his opponent was landing solid shots. It was a close fight, both deserve credit. I think HBO is just hyping Castillo up by saying he wasnt taking him seriously.
Maybe its because the other guy was a solid fighter with a good defense. A guy who might have won the fight. I didnt keep score, but it seemed possible that he could have won.

i was thinking the same but he did come on strong midway through the fight. I think he was coasting abit seeing as he didnt take that dude seriously.
Yeah, I'm not to sure how much Castillo has left. His hand speed and power just didn't seem to be there. I wonder how much his war with Corrales and making weight hurt him.
