Miami Arena deal falls through! DKP seeks new home for Adamek-Dawson By Karl Freitag "I'm putting out an all-points bulletin...I'm looking for a new home for this fight," said promoter Don King today in regard to the big SHOWTIME-televised Super Bowl eve world title tripleheader that had been scheduled for February 3rd at the Miami Arena. A new site became necessary when a third party investor group working with the Miami Arena bounced a $500,000 check to DKP. King said the card is still definitely on and that he would find a new home for the card, preferably in Florida. The event consists of the WBC light heavyweight bout between champion Tomas Adamek and Chad Dawson, the IBF jr middle battle between champion Cory Spinks and Rodney Jones, plus, the lightweight clash between champion Jesus Chavez and interim champ Diaz. In his three-plus decades of promoting, King has overcome many challenges, and he is expected to conquer his obstacle as well.

Guess I might not be able to catch this fight after all! Just found out that the deal at the Miami Arena fell thru as an investor bounced a check to Don King. He still wants to keep in in FL, but that unfortunately changes things for me. Hopefully he'll keep it at American Airlines Arena or Miccossukee (doubt it). I dunno if I can make it back up to the Hard Rock again, tho it's possible.

I'll give it a good thinkin over. More than likely I will wait until some of you want to go see a fight. I beleive they are actually building an addition to the Seminole hardrock here in Tampa so they will have an events center big enough to have fights and shit like they do down at the one on Hollywood........I am asuming that will bring alot more bbigger fights to the Tampa area since we do support fighters pretty well around here.

Actually, I plan on going to this fight. I'm about 15 minutes away from the Arena by metrorail. The prices are crazy though, so I'm not sure which seats I plan on buying, especially since I got engaged on Christmas and am supposed to be saving for the wedding.
