You know you can't say that you "owned" someone. If you "owned" someone then somebody else has to point it out. It's not your decision to make.
Anyway this fight could g one of two ways, Peter sparks Valuev in the mid rounds (Barret buckled Nik's knees twice or so, but didn't have the desire to keep at it, Peter is a far more determined prospect than Monte, considering the amount of cash he refused to step aside for Vitali you can't question his desire to be champ) or Peter just can't get by the jab and falls to a decision. I always considered that there's two ways to beat the big guy. You have to do it the Frazier way or the Ali way, you either have to swarm all over him inside is defenses, bob and weave and throw many viscious punches (see Dempsey - Willard for a blueprint) or you have to box smartly and quickly in and out using the jabe to frustrate and tire Valuev before moving in to the kill. Peter doesn't really have the style to do either of these things but he could switch up his tactics and do what he has to and get the win in my opinion.
I was under no illusions that this was a private poll. At this time I feel like Valuev has the edge.
Peter put combos together and did alright against Toney who wasn't hurting him at all. Valuev is cautious, long armed, constant and generally pretty damn well prepared which is the most important factor.
Peter may win, he always has a punchers chance and he IS improving.
However I think he'll follow the bullshit theory that too many people follow of adding more weight to fight a bigger guy. He'll gas out after swinging at a distance due to being unable to get close.
Valuev will pot shot, shamble around and generally bust up Sam Peter.
Boring points decision to Valuev.
Whoever voted for Valuev and didn't know it was a public poll is :owned:
I knew damn well it was a public poll and I voted for Valuev.
Sam Peter is a bitch! and so are you:owned:
I'm not impressed with him beating Toney. Toney doesn't even belong at heavy weight, and Peter lost their first match.
This match to me is two unskilled heavy weights and one happens to be much bigger so i'm going with him.
peter by kayo within 6 rounds
lol,,,he couldnt stop a shot toney in 2 fights,,,,couldnt stop guys like pudar....hawkins and shufford but he'll knock out 325lb valuev. right dude :duh:
Barrett Wobbled him.
Peter turns the freaking lights off.
Peter is slow. Value-size however moves like hes under water.
Peter took punches from Wlad all night...
Value-size barely took punches from Butterfist Barret.
Peter will slip under the 36 foot long jab of Value-size....and implode his massive continent of a skull.
and who's peter knocked out that makes him likely to knock valuev out? he hasnt been able to stop an even semi durable fighter. btw,,,,you need to watch the barret fight again. barret may have dazed him for a moment,,,but it was far from even being close to a knockout

ven though I'm not a Peter fan:
Man, I hate Valuev just for the fact that he has all the advantages of weight and height and still has trouble with some opponents. When you talk about a guy that has about 100# weight advantage and can't even knock our Ruiz, goes 11 rounds with Berret. He's a peice of shit. It's like putting in a average Heavyweight against a light weight. Who would you put your money on? Get that dumb ass out of there and retire him.
If they fought, who wins?
valuev is still somewhat of a mystery to me. I can see a boxer with speed and movement beating him like larry donald who got robbed from what I hear. but Im not so sure about him losing to a guy who relies mostly on pure strength as no one is going to be able to just overpower valuev,,,hes just too massive at over 300 lbs. its going to take both speed and technique in my opinion. I really dont know who would win this one,,,tough one to call
Valuev has a pretty good jab and is really big. Peter will have a much harder time landing on Valuev because of that, unlike Toney, Valuev's jab can do damage. Even Toney's jab busted Peter's face in their first fight, Klitschko busted Peter up with his jab, Valuev can do the same. Besides, Valuev was never down on the canvas before. Yes, he was shaken, but name one boxer who wasn't shaken in his career. That should account for something, at least. I think it would be a very interesting fight, Valuev tends to go forward and unload when hit/hurt. I would like to see the McCline fight first but overall, it would be a very competitive fight. Unfortunately, it'll never happen, as Don King owns both of them and will allow Peter to fight Valuev only if he loses to Maskaev and chances of that are slim to none.
If they fought, who wins?
Peters showed me in the Toney fight that if Peters continues the way he is going, by that i mean learning in the ring everyday, adding to his skills, and stays in shape, he can be the top guy at Heavyweight and this includes beating Valuez. I would actually like to see Peters box for a full round, shooting that jab, as he did the last few seconds in the Toney fight he looked like a totally different fighter a better fighter. If he can keep adding to his game, maybe even add some boxing, keep improving his jab, Peters will be difficult to beat. The combination Peters but together were really good too, or at least he was able to put good combos together this time.
Wlad sure will..
But it would take a good boxer to outbox and beat him...
You don't have to fight him with force. Both Valuev and Peter are punchers and when this is the case, this is a pick 'em fight.
Same goes if Brewster was to fight him (although Brewster may have had a better chance as he has good speed and accuracy)
Sly prime Byrd would have taken Valuev to apart.
RJJ at HW would have toyed with him..
Do you understand my point?
I hear ya but i dont feel ya! No offence. I can see why u would say that stuff tho. Valuev aint Really a puncher, not like Peter anyway. I think to beat him u need real fire power like Peter or good size and skills like Donald but ideally both like Klitschko!
Thats fair enough, but u hav to admit if anybody beats Giagantor its the 2 I mentioned and i really hope 1 of them duz!

I'm not saying Peter can't.. a part of me says he will, while a part of me says, wait I don't know enough about both guys to make that call.

Ive always thought, well since i saw Valuev beat Owen Beck that the only 2 fighters out there that beat Valuev are Peter and Wlad, and that sucks!

It's funny to see how a lot of you now are jumping on the Peter band wagon
I cannot vote at this point.. to me it's a pick 'em fight...
I don't know if it was Peter who improved tremedously overnight, or was it TOney who aged overnight.. I have to see how Peter does in his next fight before saying he is the real deal.
Same goes for Valuev. I know very minimal about his boxing game..
Have to see him, at least against McCline first.
At this point, from what I know, the fight could go either way.
Keep in mind that Peter is only 6'1 and he will have a hard time getting behind that jab... and we all know Valuev will not be flying all over the ring like Wlad did.
