1) Hmm.... Judah's southpaw style definitely gave Mr. Spinks problems in both fights, yet it was also the speed that was the key to getting past Cory's slickness. I would favor Simms on this one.
2) DLH would put Simms away with his power- a prime DLH.
3) Simms couldn't hang in there with Floyd.
He did the best he could possibly do I think, and we'll see what the future has for him. Definitely a guy to look out for in spite of his advanced age.
Travis was very sharp and fought a very calm and patient (smart) fight. Jose has the type of style, age, etc etc that was easier for Travis to exploit. Fighting Corey, Floyd etc those are altogether different styles, situations, circumstances etc. The good things he did last night....MIGHT not be able to work with other guys you know. He certainly did what he had to do but its still early in the game... Corey and those guys bring a whole different look
"I dont think he can beat or Oscar but he's very solid. "- Iceman John Scully
personally i think he can beat spinks, you should ask ice what he thinks...
Power isn't everything. Many power punchers have fallen to the more skilled fighters.
i understand that but at 154 spinks cant even stun his opponents, much less knock them out
he didnt deserve to be fighting for the 154 lb title either after being knocked out in his previous fight and as far as im concerned spinks only being able to box a majority decision from ricardo mayorga at 147 shows that he really isnt as good a "boxer" as his fans make him out to be
the only victory in spinks entire career which even mildly impressed me was his win over judah, and he was knocked out in the return so i have to say he has never gotten the best of a top flight fighter.
1. Cory Spinks
2. Oscar De la Hoya
3. Floyd Mayweather
If anyone says yes, I'd like to read why?
you should ask this question to scully not only was he there ringside and seen everything,he knows the sport better probly then everyone on this forum...
cory spinks power at 154 is as effective as james toney'd at heavyweight he doesent deserve to be champ and simms would beat him down

Rivera was over rated and very suited for Simms but if can continue to improve (quickly hes 35) than he could be a dominate force. Seems like a real fuck tho!
He looked pretty good to me, he Has good defense and some good power not sure if he can beat Floyd or De la hoya but i think he has a chance against Spinks and some of the other 154 pounders with big names

So far I've seen him fight two hard punchers who come right at you, we need to see him against boxers who move away from him. He has very good overall skills, skills to give anyone trouble.
Yes.
People still don't believe Spinks is a threat to everyone. His style will make the best style look very bad.
Delahoya and Mayweather are just on that next level.
I have said on this forum in the past that Travis Simms was underrated and my opinion on him doesn't change but he still can be beaten.
