If Dela Hoya beats Mayweather, will Oscar be automatically P4P#1???

Follow any other sport and you'd know this. I said what Diego and Horseman are saying on page 1. They're 100% correct. I'd hate for our sport to be so silly in our ranking system that football fans laugh at us. You don't become #1 just by beating #1. It depends on your prior ranking. Oscar has NO SHOT at the #1 pound for pound ranking based on a single fight. That would completely disregard what Winky and Pacquiao have been doing. You can't do that. According to these people Carlos Baldomir, Zab Judah- even Sharmbe Mitchell should have been #1 pound for pound if they had beaten Mayweather. You can't go from not even being in the top ten to the top spot. Is this that hard to grasp?

Mayweather is undefeated and is the best fighter overall. Winky beat Mosley, Trinidad, and Quartey. He didn't beat Jermain. I don't see how Winky's resume is more impressive and he is #1 P4P. I'm only impressed with him beating Mosley and giving Jermain a hard time. Trinidad is washed up.

PBF and Pac are #1 and #2 because they've moved up in weight and dominated. Winky is great, but he's been fighting in his natural division. Like it or not, moving up in weight does a lot for a boxers status by proving they are good enough to beat bigger guys. And for your question about respecting your "opion", I don't know what an opion is.

uh if you go by the logic of beating the man to become the man, then Jermain Taylor is p4p #1 right now. you all don't understand how rankings work in anything, do you? typical boxing only fans. if Mayweather loses, #2 becomes #1. you can't go from 4 or 5 or 10 or NOT EVEN RANKED to #1 just from beating #1. if Pacquiao or Wright beat Mayweather (hypothetically speaking), then yeah whichever beat him would be #1. as it stands, if Mayweather loses, Wright would become my #1 because I have him at #2 and Pacquiao at #3
