Are "Russian" Boxing Fans, especially K2 fans, Perceived as Racist?
If so, why?
P.S. This view, if exists, is completelty unfounded, since half of Russians are inter-racial in their origins.
Its funny i got to shoot the shit with an older russian guy today. He did have a heavy accent but i was able to understand.
He knew alot about boxing and kinda suprised me with his knowledge.
He did ask me if I liked Kitscho bros. He also thought that White americans dont like them or other eastern european fighters because they're comi's.
I told him that i dont know cuz im not white, but told him i dont think they care if theyre communist or not.
lol, he told me his favorite fighter was Roy Jones Jr because he loves his style and hates the " Russian" style.
AT the end of our conversation i asked what his name was and he said "Roy". lol. He told me his real name was Igor though.
Its funny he choose his American name to be his favorite fighter.
Met a Russian in the Middle East. I was with my friends and the Russian said his been to the states. He asked if 1 of our friend is a n@g(%r. But this is only 1 Russian out of millions.
I guess "racist" is primarily reserved as a reference toward Blacks.
The Black population is thoroughly obsessed on...
Ha, I have Asian friends and they all do not like American black people either for some reason. One of the first things immigrants pick up on is a dislike for other races.
Buddy, I wish I had a dollar for everytime you say "Black."
in native asian lands i have visited, racism has never been a problem, ever.
Vietnamese friends I have don't particularly like them cause I have half Vietnamese cousins and some Vietnamese friends and they all don't. I don't know any other asians though.
Fuckin Harsh. I bet they get pissed having to deal with them in the nail shops.

Or I could care less! I hate Race threads in boxing forums, but if you want to have a popular thread in a boxing forum, just talk about Racism and it will get more posts then any other boxing related threads! :nonono:
Apparently people enjoy them since they respond. It is supply and demand.

There are many ways to be nationalist. On nthis site we have different versions. Consider Vanes and the other Armenians. You couldn't be friendlier or more respectful. Then you have, for example, your different shades of Pinoy. I leave this alone, you get the picture. And the Danes, well . . .
No one would expect Ukrainians to not favor the Klitschkos, it all depends on how it is done. You can be proud without being 'racist' in the hateful sense.
The Pinoys whatever do you mean? Yeah the Armenian cats here do have respect for other fighters. I am drawn towards Russian fighters and have adopted some of their training techniques. Although I am not Russian myself.

A friend of mine, Boris, who is from Ukraine is a fan of the Klitschkos, Dimitrenko, Chagaev, etc. He is always rooting for them, but I would not label him racist, he is just nationalitst, so to speak. What I personally don't like is that he seems to loose his cool when somebody is not rooting for them.
