I don;t understand why so many of you guys are so obsses with this fight....it will not be a good fight...in fact a boring fight....maybe you guys got all excited when ODLH KO a shot and one hit wonder Mayorga....the man had one good fight , when he defeated by KO an injured Vernon....the Mayorga fight was a farse, sure Mayorga did everything he could to sell the fight, and he did..but in all honesty he knew that it was going to be a short fight , since he was shot....Tito finish him....it was a sad fight to watch, the same as the PBF v ODLH fight will be...
I know all you guys are going to get on my case, but really think about....what makes it a great fight, 2 fighters at his prime...Nope...the battle of the KO artist...Nope....2 legends...Nope...why the mystic....
What the fuck does that have to do with the fact that oscar is one of the greatest american fighters to represent this country domestically and abroad?
Your statement has absolutely nothing to do with what i said.
No, it have to do everything with what you said....ODLH is American ..not Mexican American just Americam..and the Mex American see it this way also....that's all!!
America like it or not is made up of many different ethnics groups, one which is the Mex American community one of the largerst...don;t really claim him as one of their own.....

But hes fought with the respect, courage, and skill that many great AMERICAN fighters have fought with in the past, AMERICAN. Thats what DLH is, AMERICAN, with a gold medal representing AMERICA.

I doubt that hangs over floyd's head. The Clottey fight ended the hype of margarito and their is no longer any doubt that he shouldn't be in the same arena as floyd. None of those so called pro critics are saying anything about his name now. Arum can't sell that no more.
Fine, Cort.
Margarito is garbage.
I told you I don't give a hoot.
When we factor everything in:
The Margarito issue could hang over Floyd's head. And; Floyd's legacy.
Did I just make Margarito up? :ugh:
Where are you coming from with that? :puppy_dog
It was a big hu-bub in the press.
With the professional critics making issue of it.
There was alot of talk that Margarito was the most ducked, blah blah...

Mayweather should fight Williams over Margarito any day...
And this fight is gonna be a very good action fight, like a semi-diluted Wright-Taylor. But its gonna answer Q's that every fan has.
And i wouldnt be surprised if it exceeds everyones expectations because these guys come to fight
I have nothing but respect for my fellow MEXICAN BOXING FANS, since Boxing for us Latinos is Cultural thing a sence of National Pride!!!!
Yes, he is Mexican American, but he neve fought with the same bravado that all the gret Mex fighers did.....

Youre right americanspirit, it will be interesting to watch regardless. Which pretty boy, will be the prettiest on the night.:boxing:
Indeed.
I can't really pick either at this point.
Worthy.
Yeah Floyd should fight who he is supposed to fight! Not fighting the old man DLH as some kind of shortcut to greatness. PBF cant fool people! But this fight wont be easy for PBF, but if he is as good as he thinks he is, he should win. Because DLH loses more fights than he wins recently, although still good enough to give good fighters competive fights, as he kinda did against Hopkins.
Excellent points Hugh!
I'll have at it when the time comes.
It's worth watching regardless.

Yet you name Margarito as one of the guys Floyd's suppose to fight? :ugh:
Hatton? Definitely
Cotto? Sure
Mosely? Interesting
Margarito? No.

He called Floyd out. There was plausible doubt.
This isn't the fashion world where they have "seasons."
Make your argument. That was a fragmented (?)
I don't give a fuck about Margarito.
And I don't have a favorite fighter.
I like boxing!
I'm not excited about this silly fight. It's a money fight.
These guys are in the circus together.
De La Hoya is going to try to knock Floyd's head off, of course- but Oscar likes collecting opponents like Steinbrenner likes collecting stars.
Floyd should fight Hatton, Cotto, Margarito, Mosley.
This is a BS fight- that I'll watch. There's enough at stake.
Floyd's walking a tightrope and he already had a mental breakdown.
Don't you like human destruction? Americans live for it.
Me, I'm a serious boxing fan. I want Floyd to fight the guys he's supposed to.

I'm glad you made this thread. I think it will be boring and a huge let down. This is gonna be the type of fight that makes the casual fan not want to buy a ppv again. Floyd is gonna be back-pedaling and hopping around trying to counter punch and occasionally throw a lead right on Oscar. Oscar is gonna try and chase him down, and I see him getting frustrated because of it. This is gonna be a slightly better version of Mayweather vs Baldomir.
Lots of people have the opinion that this fight is Oscar's to win or lose, maybe so but whether or not this fight is a war or a track meet relies on PBF and I really don't see him wanting to exchange when his best chance for victory is run/box his way to victory. Floyd don't care about winning by demolishing DLH in a crowd pleasing manner, he has the ability/defense to minimize his risk and maybe still win. If Oscar pushes himself beyond his abilities and can cut the ring off and hurt PBF to the body either breaking him down or forcing him into exchanges which may or may not work to DLH's advantage he has a shot. Otherwise this will be one hell of a disapointment and probably a lot more competitive version of Baldomir PBF. Im gonna go against the tide and predict a victory for DLH by KO, middle rounds.

I did think Pauli ran his mouth quite a bit- but he backed it up in his own way, too. I mean, Malinaggi really did what people thought he wouldn't- he was willing to trade. He stood his ground against a much bigger man and gave him one hell of a fight. Though Cotto won..I did gain quite a bit of respect for Pauli. No joke.
Me too, but Cotto wanted to punished him and he did...Pauli have balls and he is tough mofo...but if he ever fight Cotto again, I asure you he will keep his mouth shut this time....
Cotto doesn;t have to run his mouth...he is an impossing force just as he is...the fact that he is quite makes him even more fearson!!!
Hell his oppnents have been doing all the talk....while they can since after facing Cotto they can;t talk...example: Pauli Malignaggi

I understand what he is saying. Latino boxing fans- even those as intelligent as O- love their fighters to have loud mouths and back it up. To have balls, I guess. I have a Mexican friend who got into boxing through me and instantly latched onto the attitude of "El Feroz". It is a very nationalistic thing for them, and they like those representing them to have a bad ass demeanor...at least many do.
Miguel Cotto is quite respectful, though. I always liked how little he ran his mouth, etc. ;)
