Why Was There No 10 Second Count For 2nd Quitana Knockdown?????

Yeah, I noticed that too. The ref stopped counting when Quintanna went to say something to him.

It would of been about 12 or 13 by the time Quintana got up. Quintana should of been counted out and Smoger should not have been asking questions while Quintana was still on the canvas. Agreed. I noticed in the Cotto vs Mallinagi fight that in the last couple of rounds Smoger was saying to Mallinagi "Dance Paulie Dance!" And then at the end "Run Paulie!" Out of order in my opinion! Also Quintana's corner should have pulled theire man out instead of making him quit like that :soapbox:

I think Smoger is one of the better refs out there today. He lets the fighters actually do what they are there for...Fight. He doesnt jump in unnecessarily and if you notice, most of the fights he refs end up being great slugfests. I beleive he was the third man for Ward/Augustus and I remember him being involved in a few other entertaining fights.

Smoger is a good ref. He did the right thing. It doesn't matter anymore. Quintana would have gotten his ass beat more. Quintana had a second chance to think about fighting Cotto.

A count is not measured in seconds.

That is not true. I counted it out the moment after it happened by rewinding the TIVO and he wa up by ten even with the Smoger talking to him.

Quintana knew the count. looked like he was tellin him the round was almost over, that was bullshit! Referee's should Count to ten and if the guy is too hurt to keep track of time its his fault. referee's seem to be doin a lot of that here lately, wtf?

i did, i think smoger thought carlos was gonna quit there but he got up and fought, i didnt keep count but was he done for over 10? It would of been about 12 or 13 by the time Quintana got up.
