With a lot of boxers releasing books, does anyone think Hopkins will release a book about his life?
I think him and Jesus Chavez have a similar story with differnt turns but similar outcomes in that they both became champions and were in prison but their story is differnt, but i'd like to also hear what Hopkins has to say. There been many ex prison inmates who have turned their life around after doing time in prison. And its good to hear their story, especially when more then one are able to succed in life and stay out of prison. I know we also have some ex inmates that sadly fell back into the prison system and i which is why i'd like to hear Hopkins story too. Anybody else think Hopkins will release his life story on book?
Yeah, he has a book out, called "mi vida loca." Reason im asking is say you know sombody in prison or ya, you want to get them to realize that other have been in their shoes and have walked the same line as them, been to pen, been locked up for years but came out and made somthing out of themselves. I think its good for these type of books to be released especially when you got fighters like Hopkins, Chavez, Tapia who have been through so much, that i think a book about them some troubled kid or adult can read there story and hopfully help them see the light or just keep them focused of there goal.
I was looking at the weight in pics/article at newsfight and i seen Hopkins holding the hands up of Marquez and Jaca and man it just hit me that here a great fighter thats been through so much and he's happy which is good. He had some trouble but came out alright, and i think his story like the others are always good for the youngsters and older generation.
Its not about being self centered, his story may help or inspire sombodys life.
to be honest though, its not usually the case is it?
Hopkins is a no-name. It wouldn't be a big deal.
He's told all the boxing websites his story anyway over the last few years.
Jesus Chavez isn't any bigger. They got money so this book isn't really about getting rich. I just think it'd be a good book, more then anything, its like an inspirational book to say he did it, so can i, not to so oh, they are going to dream of becoming a middleweight champion but just be succesfull and not fall back into the trap that got them there in the first place.
I doubt it would get many sales?
Its not about sales, the guy is a millionaire. You think Tapia, Chavez, Atals, Cullough, Tszyu made these books to get rich? No. The reason i acutally made this topic is cause it got me thinking of somone i know thats in the sytem. And i've thought about sending him either Chavez or Tapia's book, since they have been throught the system themselfs and got their life back together and im sure their book is a great inspirational book aswell. And i got to thinking, Hopkins should have a book made of his life, he's been through a lot and he too can help people to have a positive outlook on life no matter where they may be or what situation they may be in.

thanks for the info.... i might just grab that...
I've been saying for awhile that Hopkins should write a book. He could work with a Phil Berger or a Thomas Hauser to help him get his story across. That would be a great read.
I know Mayweather gets a lot of attention for being dedication fighter which he is and other boxers should get the same recognition cause they work hard day in and day out in the gym. But Hopkins imo, he changed his whole life style, meaning he became a vegatarian and a work out freak to stay at middleweight and that show dedication, thats dedication not anybody can do. And he too has been through a lot and he story too should be told.
Its like Julian Letterlough, this guy was in prison boxing saved his life got him off the streets in the right path. Then some shit went down and he got stabbed and killed. Somtimes you can't escape the streets and somtimes you can, im not saying Letterlough did wrong cause i dont know the whole story. But its always good to hear about sombody whos been in your shoes and has succeded, gives people hope.
id pay for the life story of johnny tapia.... did he ever put something out?

It could be a movie, but it would have to be with the right screen-writer and director in order to make it a great movie instead of just making a crap picture trying to run off a person's name/story.
Maybe in 6 years, if it hasn't been made by then, I will make it.
